They're actually so bad at not being friends, it's a little adorable
I didn't realize that's what they were trying to do until just now
@@NoiseDay they failed amazingly at it and it gave me much joy
It's funny because they built up the tension between Ryan and The Professor so well IMO, so it just comes down to them actually making eye-contact and they're both just like..."YUP that's my BFF"
These guys are as much of a broship as like Rhett and Link. Maybe even more iconic but to a different demographic
@@wolfiemuse Nah I wouldn't say more iconic. I don't and have never watched them but they are veterans of RUclips
Can’t believe debrief is literally just Ryan and Shane’s friends to enemies arc
One step closer to enemies to lovers 😊🤭🤗
The day the music died 💔
Friends to enemies to lovers arc
Colleagues to friends to colleagues arc. The most heartbreaking of arcs
And back to friends ❤❤❤
Them shaking hands and laughing hysterically is the most Ryan and Shane thing in Ryan and Shane's existance
Oh my lord, I know they’re the best of friends but they managed to make me feel the suspense! Good job editor person
@@IsThisThePrizeIveWaitedFor The suspense was real - not from the doubt of the friendship, but for the will-they-won't-they of actually shaking on it
@@IsThisThePrizeIveWaitedFor I really thought they weren't going to do it. I was at the edge of my seat lol
hugging and laughing hysterically
(bonus for falling backward into a fire)
Love how Ryan can't bring himself to call shane his enemy, and ends up with "Non-Friend" :)
😮oh no I'm like #666! This keeps happening tonight!
@@CyanapanasatiShane is coming for you 😂

"its my nemesis Ryan"
Ryan and Shane are truly the biggest enemies who secretly like each other
*mutual admiration intensifies*
I feel like I see you everywhere
@@handsoap3346i always see a channel with the same name, but without the fam part. I wonder if there is a whole bunch of them lurking around.
Isn’t that what all enemies are, really?
I love that Ryan's reaction to "maternal adrenal strength" was "I can and will flip a car to rescue my beloved child," while Shane's is just "...I bet I could lift a mother."
These past six episodes were such a strong start to an amazing new series. I can't wait to see what these best frienemies tackle next season.
Same
Same here
Ryan and Shane's turn from friends to enemies is better than any Soap Opera.
Or Soapy Oprah…
You guys are REAL for picking my bench PR question. Made my day haha
I'm so grateful we got that weird Prius dialogue because of your question 🤣
@@adrianaheiler9794 so glad they took the question and ran with it haha
a hilarious choice! thanks for making us and the boys laugh so much!
so whats your MAX brah
I just wanted to say- I can't tell if Ryan and Shane are legally not allowed to say unsolved, or if they're just trying to blue ball the audience for comedy's sake, either way, it's hilarious
I'm not 100% sure but given Fine Bros failing to trademark 'react', I'd be surprised if buzzfeed managed to trademark 'unsolved' on its own.
It's preference, I think in one of the debriefs they mention that the trademark is explicitly for "Buzzedeed Unsolved" not just the word "unsolved". Shane makes a comment about reclaiming it or something
Yeah I was shook when Ryan said it, I ThINk on Max Headroom! 😮😆
Or wait..was it Shane? They both said it once I think though it went super casually when one said it...just..slid right by no reactions. First time it was a "big deal" hehe
It's free advertising for the old boss ,why remind viewers about old show ,when you can Stay at watcher and view their new shows.
Too many spirits and puppet history I wish I could watch a new one every week, hell if watchers crew all pop to a pub Fridays to start the weekend I'd watch that to, great team spirt vibe !
I ripped a bunch of Barbie coloring pages from a coloring book at the doctors office once to color at home, and my mother literally treated me like I was on the path to become a hardened criminal.
Barbie colouring-in pages are a gateway to violent crime. If your mother wasn’t there to keep you on the right path, you’d have killed a convenience store clerk for a $5 note and a Snickers bar before you’d even know it.
lol same but for grabbing a lollipop in a grocery store checkout lane when I was 4
Speaking of unsettling cases i'd love to see you guys cover the random clown sightings in 2016
This would be so good, doesn't one of them have... clown-phobia(?) tho? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else xD
@@cat_clawz9473I think it became cool to be afraid of clowns but the original reason was the new IT movie that came out
@@lydiakachthe sightings have been happening since 2013 and some of the trends were started by filmmakers or people just trying to garter online views, but I looked into the 2016 ones possibly being started as a marketing tool for the 2017 IT movie, and found nothing to support that other than timing. I wouldn't find it likely since the hysteria has resulted in at least one murder of teenage boy.
They probably won't because someone died as a result of that hysteria, and they don't want to cover murders anymore.
@@thrasherali-ns2842 oh wow really? At least in my area it was the IT movie. Most of the "clown" sightings came with a red balloon or some type of red thing. Also for Halloween that year people put red balloons in the grates in my neighborhood. I think it really depended on the area because the clown hysteria in my area came and went with the IT movie
In middle school, I stole a single Lindor chocolate from a 7/11 and felt so guilty afterward that I hid it in my room and refused to eat it for a month. When I finally got around to it, it had gone stale. As an even younger child, my MO was taking those cheap necklaces off of shirts in the girls' section at Khols. But, now, I've left my life of petty crime behind me, though I'm forever haunted by the sins of my past. 😔
THE NECKLACES OFF OF SHIRTS IS SO NICHE- I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND lmao
@@nya._stuart I was actually caught once on the security camera, and someone came down to talk about it with my mom and she was very unhappy with me. In my little kid brain, it finally clicked, and I was like, "oh, hey, there are consequences to my actions.....maybe I shouldn't be doing this" 😥 I was legitimately worried I'd be arrested. 😂
@@emilygiovingo4703I thought I was gonna get arrested one time when I was 3 with my mom in Walgreens and I was trying to smell a candle but accidentally dropped it and it broke 😭
omg those necklaces and the pins/brooches from women's shirts. some where in boxes on display out in the open. my mom found my stash and made me give them away. XD
I once stole more than twenty plastic bracelets from my pushchair and my mum only realised when I was giggling away and then I rolled up my sleeves and I was bejewelled to the armpits
"Give us new stuff!" - thanks Shane. Really feeling that one. I'm so tired of reboots.
Also, that trust fall/hand shake (trust shake?) was the most suspenseful thing I've seen in ages.
😂
The best part is the editor saying "NO!!!" about the shoplifting talk, as though Shane didn't literally say the words "I think people should rob from banks" in the first episode of the show. XD (And the boys getting back together, of course.)
I missed this! Timestamp?
@@sunsun5005 It's on the screen at 9:22, and they were talking about shoplifting for a bit before it pops up.
Can we all appreciate the cinematography of Shane pouring coffee from one coffee cup to another coffee cup at 4:52
To all those on TikTok posting confused videos where they try to understand why they're not friends any more..... IT'S A BIT. IT'S LITERALLY PART OF WHAT MAKES THEM FUNNY. smh
we are just worried fans thats all
Sllloooooowwwwww
Maybe the TikToks are bits too?
@@Vexas345 That's giving them too much credit lol
@@ThePinkpanda15if they truly weren’t friends do you think they would be openly joking about it on the show?
I was so sad when Buzzfeed Unsolved ended. This new series is everything I could’ve hoped for in a spiritual successor. You guys rule so hard. And are friends.
as someone who literally cried when unsolved ended, i agree
I'd like to see Ryan and Shane do a reaction video to all the other paranomal investigators 😅
YEEEEEESH
YES PLEASE
The way I actually pumped my arms in the air and cheered when they shook hands cementing their friendship again and ending the bit 😂😂
I'm sad this was the last episode, and I'm looking forward to seeing this show come back again in the future!
I saw this happen in real time. The point people are missing is that this was only possible because they were local stations with unprotected channels. This was a time when we still tuned into channels, like people tune into radios. Cable was relatively new and delivered channels via wired cables. Now we stream which uses those same cables to deliver internet service. PBS was especially vulnerable because they were unmanned and on autopilot for the night. Thats why it went on so long. It was very funny at the time. Whoever did it was an unsung hero to then young rebellious Gen Xers. I am sure someone on the spectrum with a special interest in radio waves and broadcasting did this for fun. Whoever it was taught the local stations a lesson on how to protect their channels. I mean, who owns the air?
wow this is the first comment I've seen from someone who was there!! Sounds badass to see in person
Weird that you think we don’t know what cable is or what channels are lol. I think even the youngest viewers probably have that grasped. And they did explain the unmanned situation and the unprotected channels in the original episode of the show (this is the debrief.) I’m interested to hear if you have any more verifiable evidence that you were there, as you haven’t provided any information you couldn’t get from a google search
@@maddieb.4282 the fact that this was only possible because it was a local station being broadcasted over the air waves wasnt mentioned, so I thought I would. Most younger people I know actually dont understand that ABC, NBC and CBS were the original broadcasting channels, much less the difference between those and local stations like WGN and PBS, which I grew up watching, being from the Chicago area and being quite old. Congratulations if you knew that. Other than the fact that I belong to the generation X, grew up in Chicago and was watching the news when this happened, I literally have no way of proving that to you, nor do I have the desire to, but thank you for your opinion.
I accidentally shoplifted as a pre teen. We were trying on bathing suits and I forgot to take the bottoms off because some of my friends were in a rush trying to catch the subway. I noticed my pants felt weird and then when i got home and went to the bathroom, I discovered them
Wait....does that mean you left your knickers at the shop?
@@macklinillustration ew you cant be trying on bathing suits in stores without your knickers that's so unhygienic! Of course they wore the bathing suit bottoms over their knickers and just put their pants on and left the store!
@@mimixmin I'm a idiot, I completely forgot about the pants on rule.
I think the mask choice was probably a combination of both possibilities. They decided they needed a mask, went to buy one, saw the Max Headroom mask and probably thought "Oh that would be really fuckin funny!"
Ryan failing to call Shane a non-friend or show disdain toward Shane is proof he learned something from the Professor after all. 🥺
it's hilarious how the max headroom stuff just kinda... permeated the chicago suburbs. I was born a few years after it happened but it was just sorta one of those things everybody knew about even if we didn't know how we knew about it
crying laughing about saving a baby under a prius. not at all how i expected the season to finish. absolutely fantastic
This is one of those instances where you sort of don’t want to know who did it as it would ruin the mystery as to who it was and how did they do it. This is very well done guys, keep up the great work!
For the mysteries being more interesting to talk about than solved cases, I wanna say that my favorites are the cases that were mysteries for a long time, with time to generate multiple theories, and then eventually were solved years later
This case feels creepy (and even felt creepy when watching the episode) bc it’s in your tv in your home. Like it feels so vulnerable to have it invade your living room, even if it’s just a silly little masked man
‘Shane’s enemy’ 😂 the ghoul boy divorce is still going strong I see.
the handshake STRESSED ME OUT! Loved the season, squad!! Can't wait for more!
Ok but why did I feel so much anxiety in that handshake? Lol the suspense of their friendship was off the charts this season 😂🥹
"I could lift a mother" - Shane Madej
Ryan and Shane and the team of watcher, I request you to please even take Steven to one of your adventures in Ghost Files, been a fan since the Buzzfeed days❤
True crime was the thing that got me into watching them even though I started watching them after they finish BU true crime
Didn't they say once that Steven doesn't want to ghost hunt? I might be remembering it wrong, but I thought it was talked about on Watcher Weekly and Steven said he didn't want to take a a chance on messing with paranormal stuff or something like that.
@@CaseyTyler357yeah ryan and shane told an anecdote somewhere that they took Steven to a haunted spot once and he spent the whole time praying to Jesus
I think he hates ghost hunting even more than Ryan 😂 would be cool if he was a guest in the debrief part though maybe, like with Garrett, rather than in the actual investigation.
I unknowingly stole a chapstick from a Rite Aid once when I was in middle school. When I found out, I didn’t bring it back but peeled off the label in guilt. Not fun 😂 Thanks for the season! See you in the next one
I misread the end as "see you in prison" LMAO
I guess I’m in the minority here, but while I do love a good mystery, I also really enjoy the closure of a solved case! Especially after so many years of **ahem** unsolved mysteries, it’s nice to learn about wacky things that are solved!
I'm surprised no one brought up or pointed out, max headroom and doctor who are both British shows.
I also think the person looked younger like a teen. What if it was a kid of one of the tecs? With the potential criminal charges the parents would want to keep it buried
it def sounds like the kind of thing teenagers would do
The British have made a lot of shows you know. I’d be shocked if that weren’t a coincidence. But interesting point for your second idea, if the investigators were serious about checking if it was an inside job I’m sure they would have done a little background checking of the techs and who they had relationships with
Like literally don't need HBO max cause the series' y'all are making are the absolute best. Thank you for the hard work, Watcher team!😊
shane was so shook with this case that his beard ran away
I love this show so much already. Sad the season is over, but can't wait for season 2! And of course hyped for more Puppet History. Watcher just has so many fantastic shows right now. ❤
Are we getting Are You Scared back this friday ? If so im hella excited!!!! Sad to see Mystery Files season 1 end tho
even though it's solved, d.b. tuber was my favorite episode. thanks for the great season, it was a lot of fun and i really love the types of cases you guys are covering
"It's Lynchian." This made my day. Thank you Shane.
Came here to post this!
is this like a reference to something other than the director david lynch? ive heard other youtubers use this as a bit. is it just something too many people say and shane is saying it ironically?
@@worlddictionary9954 Lynching is a reference to David Lynch's style of work. And I don't think it was ironic. The videos that were broadcasted would fit perfectly in movies like Inland Empire.
Because it's weird, uncomfortable, bizarre and surreal.
I love that both of them are film nerds
Shane: "I'm from the great state of Illinois."
Ryan: "REALLY?! I've never heard of that."
omg these two crack me up
We all know Shane and Ryan would hack into a Buzzfeed Unsolved
In terms of weightlifting, it was an actual class I took in high school, so we would do maxes once per quarter. I think figuring out your max is helpful in structuring your workouts, because to optimize your workout, you want to be doing certain percentages of your max (and a certain number of reps at each percentage) as you go along. Over time, you can increase the percentages/reps and increase your max, which is generally how you get stronger. But if you're not really trying to get swole in the first place, then it's no big deal - but you definitely want to see increases in the weights you can lift over time. The percentages just help make that easier, because you can just plug the numbers in.
I love how Ryan is implying that Shane popped out as a fully grown man.
I can't believe Shane "The Demon" Madej was Max Headroom 🤯
Good to see the romance has finally been rekindled. Nature is healing.
Y'ALL. I'M SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU!
I found Ruining History and Unsolved after they both ended, and I was SO sad. Finding this channel is such a relief! Don't y'all scare me like that again!
I ordered a "Professor" plush doll and I get excited everyday it's getting closer to arriving!!
Love Mystery Files! But can't live without Puppet History!!!
The handshake was an emotional roller-coaster
If I was watching the news and it suddenly cuts to a closeup shot of Shane’s mouth slurping up a millepede I would legit think I would die in 7 days
Thank you for an incredible season! I don't want to be the person who repeats themselves but I'm really, really hoping you dig into the Philadelphia Experiment.
That is an interesting one.
Season 1 of Mystery Files was great. How great? Well, imagine a jar of peanut butter….
MORE PUPPET HISTORY RAHHHHHHH (I'm very excited)
Also, I CALLED IT! I knew the Professor was gonna make a comeback!
For the next season please do videos on the following mysteries:
-The death of Ark Gilkey
-The Kentucky alien invasion in the 1950's
-The mysterious birds of Audubon's "Birds of America" book.
-The mysterious abandonment of Portlock Alaska
-The thoeries of what causes the Missing 411 cases in the US.
-The Montana Hyena
As someone that enjoys the mysterious but not necessarily the gruesome/horrific, this series has been a godsend. Looking forward to more!
ryan blaming one year old shane for the max headroom incident reminds me of John Mulaney's mom blaming him for Princess Diana's murder
The way Shane and Ryan are sitting at the beginning are my two moods
waiting for shane to come out and admit that it was him
This was a super fun series and a great episode. I hope you guys keep working on it so it becomes more smooth
What an underhanded comment lmfao
god i still love the dynamic duo you two radiate. i just subbed last month, and i have been loving everything so far.
The amount of tension for a single handshake was insane
love the episode and I am hyped for Puppet History and Ghost Files😊
Omg, I was just rewatching all of mystery files for something to do during yesterdays leg of the road trip, and now last episode’s Debrief is out right in time for the next leg of the trip! So excited to watch!
These seasons are too short!
Ryan's side-eye on hearing that he's Shane's arch-nemesis is worth the price of admission.
My favourite mysteries this season? How much weight Ryan can bench press & what Shane is having for lunch.
My favourite moment -- that handshake, of course. No wonder Mystery Files is renewed!
MORE PUPPET HISTORY???? YAAAAAAY!!!!!
This series was amazing and a long time coming !! Can't wait for the next one already. Props to Ryan, Shane, Annie, Brittney and all the crew. It was so thrilling to see the different type of mystery they covered and it's just hilarious, entertaining
I was not expecting this season to be over already!!! Loved this series can't wait for next season!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this season. Very much looking forward to season 2 and everything else that’s to come ✨
DB tuber was my favorite this season, I enjoyed the solved cases a lot
I always skip ads/sponsors but i cant help but seriously enjoy steven lim talk about cereal or really any watcher ads.
“How do you feel about ai Shane?”
“It sucks”
Shane you will always have my heart you perfect beanpole
Thank you guys for all you do!
i had an ai take my order at McDonald's yesterday... it was literally one of the MOST annoying experiences of my life. it kept interupting me and being weird. so im on team hate ai. please for the love of god give me a tired grumpy employee bc at least theyre straight to the point and dont interrupt with "CAN I GET ANOTHER DELICIOUS THING FOR YOU TODAY?????" LET ME SPEAK YOU FREAK I WAS ABOUT TO TELL YOU ITS TOO EARLY IN THE MORNING FOR THIS TYPE OF ENERGY.
Thank you guys so much for a fantastic first season! Since we got an episode this season about unexplained sound phenomena, what about an exploration into unexplained light phenomena next season? Can’t wait for what y’all put out next! ❤ Love from Boston!
12:32 "No, I cry" 😂😂 I nearly spat out my drink lmao
14:48 “I was only going to do it as a defensive measure” 😂 so cute hahaha
Awwww. The handshake moved me. Plus, it really was suspenseful!
Dropping some subliminals for Ghost Files?
Love you guys! Make more episodes per season please! ❤❤❤
Please can we get more of these? They're so fun to watch, I'm so ready for more!!
Congrats on the success of the show and getting it renewed!! This was wonderful the whole time
“A goo-goo ga-ga sort of situation?” - that’s such a Shane thing to say lmao 😭😭
I cannot wait for puppet history!!!! I swear if the Dino mom & dad aren’t a running gag where the camera pans to the adoring audience that just has them in it imma be mad cause that would be so damn cute them being all excited to see their little blue fluff ball son all happy an excited to share knowledge(and for the parents to also learn some things too!) with others. We need some wholesomeness and comedic timing with the new normal that will be puppet history season 6
You're just so silly and I love you. Shane's mirth at the end there was so contagious too
Congrats on finishing out the series! ^^ It was so intriguing to watch :) I can't wait to see more weird anomalies throughout history.
theyre just like doofinsmirtz and perry, but i cant decide whos who
I could watch these guys sit and chat about anything and enjoy every second of it.
Great first season, everyone! Thank you to the whole crew for pulling this together, it was a great ride and I can't wait to see what you do next.
Omggggg I’ve never been this early. On the off chance y’all see this, I love you guys so much. I’ve been obsessed since buzzfeed unsolved. I’m so PROUD and happy you guys made your own brand. YOU DESERVE IT!!!! MUCH LOVE FROM CINCI OHIO❤️❤️
i love this format of videos!! informative video and then feedback it adds so much i to the theories!!🥰 love your videos guys!!
When I used to bench with my brother (who played football in high school), he taught me that the 1RM (the maximum weight where you can do one rep but not two) was useful for calculating weights to use in doing sets, finding what you should aim for with 3 sets of 10 for example. There were straightforward formulae to determine how much weight to use for different types of training.
We never looked at it as a PR thing, but as a useful tool to optimize our regular workouts.
that was a whole character arc within the debrief titles
how are they still so cute????? their friendship just keeps getting adorable!!!!!!!!! i'd watch anything if its them :P Im just glad that whatever they do is also something I end up liking and like I'm there FOR them being them but I'm not just there for them!!!!!!!! I loved this show!!! Tunguska being my favourite ep!!!!!
would love to see more heists in mystery files season 2. this season was absolutely fantastic!
i love the sponsors sections. always entertaining and creative.
One thing that I really missed from the old show was you guys used to spend extra effort to not only go into why the theory was true, but also reasons why the theory WASN'T true. Not a lot of people tend to do that. I'm hoping that comes back in season 2 or even 3 if it's too late for filming.
This series really captures the wonder of learning, and how it can be really fun when there's no stakes
More please!
Great season!
