I am from germany and i bought a DC200 student. I cant complain at all. I love this thing. Its not expensive and it's perfect for the first years. The quality of the harley benton guitars is not so good in the U.S, i don't know why but here in germany they are really famous and many people (me too) love them
The quality of the Harley Benton guitars is exactly the same in the US , Canada anywhere in the world because they all come from the same factory in Germany. Shut your pie hole

My wife just stood silently with her mouth hanging open, unable to say anything. I ran up the stairs as fast as I could so they wouldn’t see me laughing to the point of tears streaming down my face.
I bought a DC custom in Cherry and I can't believe how good this guitar is! I just bought a $1000 guitar also and I had to work on it for 2 hours so I could play it. I made only a minor adjustment to the action on the Harley Benton and that thing is the best playing guitar I have ever played! I have played many different levels of guitar but this one is my favorite! There were some minor imperfections but at the price you can't complain about it! I now have two Harley Benton guitars and I love them over my expensive Ibanez guitars. Great video!
I just got my first HB guitar, the dc custom. I was shocked what an amazing guitar. I have a cort cr250 (les paul), which is great but it just doesnt hold up. One of the notes in the cort doesnt ring, but everything in the HB is just perfect and the set up was spot on with low action and great intonation and thats 350 euros vs 170 euros! Hell i think the tuners even feel better than the on my american fender strat!

B-stock item. smells slightly of cat-piss. this does not affect playability in any way.

Came here because of the DC-Custom 612, but your whole video was enjoyable to watch. Didn't even notice that it's 1 hour long, because you made me laugh out loud several times and I gained a lot of value as well. You have a subscription and a bell from me!
just ordered a DC612 double neck because my curiosity got the best of me. The very first thing that has to be done is the pickups have to be changed out. I will put Gibson 61 Burst Buckers in the 6 String and a Gibson 490/498 set on the 12 string. Then again, I may play it, realize it's exactly what I thought it was and give to the first kid I see in the guitar store.
I think i would rather someone found my porn collection than saw how many hours in the last year I've spent watching guitar gear videos 😂

Im in loooooove :) Just keep talking we love Harley Benton!!! Screw the ones saying stuff about this or that amp, etc ... even a Gibson plugged into a crap amp its going to sound shit. The sound is the paramount so guitar, amp, pedals etc is ALL making the sound happen not only the el guitar on its own, its not an acoustic instrument for fuck sake (sorry about all the f words)
Hey Henning, I see that in your videos you mention on how not precise those tuners are. Just keep in mind that this depends on the nut also! Obviously a crappy nut cannot easily let the strings slide through it's crappy slots and so tunning stability is not that great. Not always the tuners are entirely responsible... Keep up the good work on those reviews!!

I wonder how slide playing would sound on the DC Custom. I used to have an SG set up for slide and I loved it. Over the years I had to let it go due to money woe's. I'm thinking this might be a nice replacement.
You gave me serious GAS for the white one with this vid! So of course I got it (you can see it in action in some of my videos)! Amazing guitar, especially at that price. Perhaps you can test the more metal styled guitars, as well, I think it'd be interesting. Anyway, subbed!
Henning, you rascal! I just got the DC Custom 612 two days ago & was working on a vid, but I was gigging this weekend & couldn't finish. I was gonna be the first to review it on YT, but ya stole my thunder & beat me to the punch! Fantastic presentation as always tho. Thanx for the great HB. Axe reviews. Not much of a pedal nerd, but I enjoy your vids immensely. I can attest to the fact that you are honestly reviewing these & that you are not being paid by Thomann to say they're good. I've ordered 8 of these(1 in transit) & all of the ones I received are great! I have the same color differance on the nuts as well(guitar nuts that is!). Think the cream might be bone. Also, I read that ebonal is often used on fretless basses, because it is more resistant to having grooves worn into it from the strings than real wood. Anyway, keep the guitar reviews rolling!

The double neck is brilliant, shame about the shape on the other ones though. Somehow I don't mind disfigured Les Pauls or strats but the SG... nah. Doesn't look right. I want my devil horns symmetrical. Thanks for the demo, I'm a huge SG fan and watching this was a pleasure.
After "White Cheddar" I was expecting to hear "Orange Mozzarella"....Man those guitars sound really awesome, love the classic 70's Rock tones, though you can play about anything with these IMO
Why would you criticize him of lying to you? He is making guitar tone reviews. Listen to the sound and don't let yourself get influenced by what the reviewer says. He is making high quality recordings of the guitars for you to make up your own opinion. Even if he is lying, and the guitars are in fact crap, you will be able to find out by simply listening. If you can't do that then it really doesn't matter which guitar you buy.

So I ordered a DC 600 VI last Saturday, unfortunately they run out of stock and won't have them in stock until February next year, however they offered me a DC Custom 612 as a replacement, looks like one hell of a guitar and looking forward for it to arrive. Also big shot out to the incredible customer service at thomann
they offered you the Double neck as a replacement? Not just the DC-Custom? That's weird... or did you mix up the models?

You didn’t mention the iconic song, “The Song Remains the Same,” on which Jimmy Page plays the double-neck (a song I would much rather listen to than Stairway).
Also, Rik Emmett of Triumph (what is it with phenomenally talented Canadian power trios?) used his two double-necks extensively throughout their music. Rik is one of the truly underrated and under-appreciated guitarists in rock music, and even moreso as a musician and song writer (I’ll overlook the late 80’s when most rock bands seemed to go very soft and synth-soaked, just as the market was shifting to heavier and more aggressive music).
I’m actually considering a HB guitar, and making a few mods to it, so would love to see more reviews of them. Would particularly like reviews of the models with multi-laminate necks.

Best "OUT-OF-THE-BOX" Harley Benton I've had so far.
I may have to spend 2 minutes perfecting the intonation (awww shame) but it's damned close as it is.
And those Grovers! So smooth and stable. That's €83 right there...

I think harley benton is gibsons replacement they are putting out great pieces of work
loved the overhead skull cam! I think I will get a kit guitar, I am worried about damage to the USA with shipping and it would be hard to break a guitar not put together.
The way I think to look at one of these guitars is not the same as I would have looked at guitars when I was when I bought my Epiphone SG G-400 Pro. I was looking for a good guitar at a good price that would last me a long time.
If you're looking at purchasing one of these Harley Benton's it should be with a mindset that yeah it's good enough to practice/learn for now but at some point in the near future I can use it for practicing upgrades and I won't be too bothered if I fuck it up trying to upgrade it
All sound nice but that dot inkays on the blacks makes it looks real cheap. If it had block inlays like the others, it would look sick! Nice comparison review.
Damn! Every HB guitar you review I want to buy. The problem is that I have just started to play guitar and do not need so many....Nevertheless, Thomann should be really happy with you. BTW could you review HB Big Tone please.
Henning, please have Thomann send you a DC600, with the three pick-ups, to test. This one looks sooooo hot on their website.
Awesome test, as always. Left me with two rather off-topic questions:
1.) I like testing instruments before buying them, which is why I tend to buy them directly at the Thomann store if possible. Can you get any reward points from that purchase if I ask them to give them to you?
2.) I noticed the Ibanez TS-5 amp in the back in a couple of Videos, I own that for a couple of years now and would really appreciate your 2 cents about it.

I'm interested in getting the DC-Custom. I have an SC-550, and love the neck profile on that guitar, and was curious if the neck profile on the DC is similar? You've had a chance to play both models, do they play similarly? Any feedback would be really helpful, thanks :)

And another phantastic demo Video, showing all important aspects of the guitars. I LOVE your demo videos, and if I could cuddle them, I would. I bought a HB Strat (oh well, Kind of strat-shaped form, as we are not allowed to say the S-word) because of your demo. In this case: Easy decision NOT to buy any of these. I had a Gibson SG once, and These HB DCs are too thin in comparison.
+Alexander Meneikis Too thin in terms of sound? I have TWO original Gibson SG's here from students and we compared them... both G's were way past 1000 Euro... they were nice guitars, but the HBs could easily keep up with them and the DC-Custom sounded bigger and fatter...

So I guess this is very subjective. I also compared the HB Teles to Squier Teles, and for me, the Squier wins by far. On the other hand, the S.... model sounds close enough to the original for me.

He is "showcasing" the guitars on vintage Marshall Plexi amps.....because that the kind of amp somebody has that buys a $300 guitar. They should be playing through Line 6 Spiders. The Mesa Boogie amp is currently $3349 and he's using $300 a piece pedals.

All sound very similar! Not 100% ,but maybe at least 80-90% the same.
VERY consistent. I am guessing @ this early juncture most models are sporting the SAME pick ups.
BUT 1st guitar = CERAMIC pick ups!

awesome stuff, love it. I dont have much money but those harley benton guitars are great for the price, maybe swap the pickups and you got yourself a great guitar. its maybe not super fair of you to review those 200€ guitars with amps that cost 7-10x as much. Would you recommend getting the sc-1000? I'm thinking about it.

I hate the extended lower bout on these guitars makes them looked unbalanced and unsymmetrical and they wont fit well in a guitar rest.
Why are the 12 string pups so hot?? I'd have to swap in some burst buckers or something better for sure

should i buy the harley benton dc s 600(the white 3 pick-up one wich wasnt in the video) or the dc custom? I know the custom has better tuners. but i realy like the look of the white s 600 with the three pick-ups, and it also has gold hardware.
Hey there Henning. You often say that those guitars are great for the money. But would you say they are the absolute best you can get for your money? Are those the guitars that you recommend to your students? Or do you advise spending a little bit more for a much better guitar? If so which one?

Compared to gear4musics double neck guitars (even cheaper, their own brand label ) how great is the HB?
My custom bass guitar weighs about 6 kilos and I've played full shows with it and never had any back problems or back pain...don't tell me you can't do more than one song with an instrument below 6 kilos :D
Lol the neck joint volute would be better. Not having one is like not having a humbucker. 2 weeks after owning it your gonna wish it had that...
Anyone knows the thickness of the custom model? The body seems quite thicker than the one of the "Big G" SG standard model... Maybe it's heavier too

I have the DC-Custom in Cherry red, awsome guitar(look and sound!!) and i think that they are made in the same factory as the ESP-LTD ones, same body shape, same thickness, same tuners(grover) just more vintage pickups and a different shape headstock, oh and 2-5 times cheaper!! The main reason I haven't bought one is the neck weight. I had a LTD Vipor and when played with a strap live, when ever I let go on the neck the guitar took a nose dive, do these do that?
Just get a leather strap.

I really want the White DC custom but it is only in B-stock at the moment. Is that a problem or should I just buy it? They say there are small things with the guitar but what small flaws should I think of?

Hi Henning. Regarding a Gibson neck's tendency to snap at the transition from neck to head, see: www.crenshawweb.com/neck%20joints.jpg it's because Gibson necks are one piece, so the grain at that point is very short and runs across the angle. Cheaper guitars, with a 'wood saving scarfed-on headstock' are actually stronger at that transition, because the glue makes for a strong joint and the grain of the headstock is long, straight and strong, as opposed to short, angled and weak on the Gibson. Two years ago I bought a nice new cherry Memphis Gibson ES-335 with P90s from GuitarGuitar in the UK. When it arrived I opened the case and the headstock had snapped off in transit and was only being held in place by the black fibre overlay carrying the pearl Gibson logo. The guitar WAS quickly replaced, but it was a f#%king shock! Anyway, the diagrams in the web reference above will, hopefully, explain the problem.
Ebonol is build using formaldehyde which is not very healthy so Im not sure I am happy to use it. But then again all the paints used in guitars coming from China might also be very toxic, dunno. I would be happiest guitars are plain natural with oil/wax and nothing else.

Just make sure you don't eat them and there shouldn't be any issues. They're not free range or certified organic.

Another thing your kit guitar sounds good due to not having the kit pick up fitted. You have up graded them as those humbuckers are not the ones that come in the kit. You must thing we are thick. We are not domkofths.
