@@chriss.249 He meant using Flashfire Techniques with his cold side, but that was not what his father wanted. He wanted Shoto to use an advanced flashfire with zero downsides because of his cold side.
@@chriss.249a more specific explanation is, endeavor wanted him to use his ice to keep his body cooled off to use greater levels of his fire with less drawbacks if any. However, due to todorokis resentment and the general “it’s his power” motto, he’s decided instead he will do the opposite. He will use his fire powers to keep his body warm and focus on increasing the output of his ice powers.

As proud as I am of Shoto, it doesn't look like Touya is down just yet. For better or for worse, he inherited a lot of Endeavor's stubbornness. Still though, Shoto managed to hold his own and take him down to the best of his ability. He's amazing.
He also inherited his mother's resistance to the cold.

Gotta love this series' dedication to having 99% of major conflicts solved by one very big punch.

Guess what, he ended it with the biggest fist the series had seen so far.
Should have included the part where they look like kids again, it was beautiful
Yeah how are they going to leave out the best part of this scene. I miss when Crunchyroll used to actually post full scenes instead of just bit sized moments.
This episode was just emotional the voice acting and music with the punch at the end almost teared up literally breathtaking bones killed it:)

Very good. Initially Shoto was only using ice as a form of rebellion towards his father and his fire was solely to negate or clean up his ice. After fighting Midoriya, he began to see his flames as his own power and thus was able to use them. After facing Tetsutetsu, he went all out to perfect his control over his flames. Facing Toya Todoroki using only flames with ice to negate showed that he couldn't beat his older brother at his own game and that he had to go beyond even what his father intended which was to combine the two sides which said he embraced his whole family.
He found the cure to heartburn!

Which is funny because in the last chapter, Endeavor says this but also acknowledges that even though its Dabis own flame, it still originated from his Hellfire
it's not the amazing quirks that draws our attention. or the heroes and villains, or even the amazing plot.... it's the music. the music and the raw emotions. i can feel the emotions in this just like i did with kingdom hearts. hero or villain, u can't help but feel emotions for both of them
Everything from the music to the animation to the moment. Amazing
While MHA has its problems as an overall story, some of the “side” storylines like the Todoroki family are the best part of the show, Shoto rejecting his fathers powers, Dabi being this mysterious figure with powerful flames like endevour, Shoto training with his father and teaching him all the drawbacks of having powerful flames, Dabi revealing his identity in the middle of the first big battle, all the way up to a sibling squabble that’s been building since season 2 and god it is just so beautiful to watch. Bones animation, the voice acting, the soundtrack, it’s just hits different

Wow, the cinema here! The shot of Todoroki punching Dabi is 1-to-1 with the shot of Deku punching Todoroki back in their sports festival match. Its even playing the same OST. This is Todoroki's character coming full circle.

A few years ago studio bones would've had an epic original OST composed to go with a scene like this one as well as the insane animation and art we had back during the Deku vs Todoroki fight in season 2 😞

This scene conveys too much. Honestly the direction of it is too well thought out with such a soft yet sad melody, knowing the Todoroki's past.
This scene should deserve more recognition to the animator(s) in question along with the sound direction
