Just for @CMONGames to see the impact of content creators - I have jumped into Song thanks to this specific video. One month later I have played more Song games than I have played GW games in the whole 2023. Great batrep of my new favourite wargame.
While I would hate to see you switch completely away from painting videos... Holy heck, this battle report is impressive! The production quality and presentation is just... *Chef's kiss*.
I can't overstate how good this video is. Not only has it provided a fantastic insight into a game I previously had no interest in and now I am looking into because of this, I think this also sets a new "gold standard" for gameplay videos. I really hope you enjoyed this and the final product is worth it for you because we would LOVE to see more like this - even if it's just more ASOIAF videos!
Your level of commitment to making this battle report absolutely incredible is viscerally evident. Hats off to you, this was hands-down the best batrep on RUclips!
I have never been able to watch a battle report for a tabletop war game before because they're usually so boring. This battle report is incredibly engaging, perfectly paced, incredibly well produced, and taught me rules as I needed to know them. Really, really well done Scott. This clearly took a MASSIVE amount of time, but I would start watching more battle reports if they were more like this!
At best, I get through 25% of battle reports before turning them off.. I was SO engaged this whole time. Absolute 10/10 ! That's so much work to get this quality, 2 quality people aswell 👏👏👏
Scott this was the most engaging Battle Report I've watched. Glad to see two buds having a great time killing each other on the board while giving a quality run down of the game!
The quality on this was insanely good. You should be super proud of it Scott, also it was adorable watching you and Curtis talk about each other. That's a powerful friendship.
Fantastic video and a great intro to ASOIAF for new players. I hope this battle report kindles interest in some folks who may never have heard of ASOIAF or have never seen it on the table. With the Old World coming out, I think ASOIAF stands as a fantastic alternative to that game, and hopefully the resurgence of interest in rank-and-file games will spill over into ASOIAF. It's a fantastic game that deserves more attention. Thanks for continuing to evangelize this fine game!
This video is unbelievable for a couple-person team. Amazing work, the shots, the animations, the interviews, everything was great and I am a fan of long videos. I hear a lot of RUclipsrs say that their videos are too long. Well, I say they aren't long enough. Excited to see more of these videos.
I have been consuming battle reports for a long time, this one is so refreshing in his quality. I mean, you even put coloured lights on each side to match the armies. The editing, the games resources, the shots, everything is so neat. I hope to see more of this ! Well done !
Gotta say, I love this kind of battle report so much. A nice mixture of dudes genuinely having a fun time and a level of polish that helps the viewers follow what’s happening. Keep up the good work!
The small amount of video work I have done makes me respect the crispy editing you've done here all the more, this is an amazing style and I at least appreciate the effort you've put in. Well done my man.
The genuine fun you're both having throughout the game is what I enjoyed most in this video. Somehow you captured your sincere friendship in form of a battel report! Thanks for all the hard work you put into this one!
This was fantastic! You did such a great job getting across why the game is mechanically cool without begin too bogged down to show clearly why it's fun. Great battle report! And to show how gaming together sustains and strengthens friendships is an amazing tribute to both the hobby and the kind of chosen family it can help create. Thanks so much for all the work you put in to share this with us!
They’re having fun with it, not taking it too seriously, whilst acknowledging the significance of the lore. This is how the game was meant to be played.
Really one of the best battle reports I’ve ever seen. You’ve got a great formula here. I’d always watch something like this in the future. You’ve managed a good mix of explaining the game and letting the personalities of the players show through. Way to capture the fun of a trash talking game with a frenemy. Also cool that my shirt now references more than a pilot.
I truly enjoyed this video, start to finish, despite my being much more an RPG player myserl than a war gamer. The interaction between the pair of you was enjoyable from start to finish, and for me, that's what ALL gaming is about, the interplay between humans who truly enjoy sharing time and experiences with each other, and this video was full to the brim with that kind of wonderful energy. Might even watch it again. 😉😉
This is probably the best ASOIAF batrep I’ve seen so far, and there’s a lot of good content for this game!! I’d love to see more ASOIAF on your channel, keep up the great work!
This was super fun to watch! You can feel it was a labor of love. It made me actually want to give ASOIAF a try. Also, I loved hearing you guys talk about your friendship at the end. It was very touching. I teared up listening to Curtis
This was one of the very best battle Reports I have seen, and I have watched a lot. Every move was well announced and you ensured everything was able to be heard and seen as the game progressed. Definitely wish you would do more song content. Excellent quality.
This video is the perfect battle report format. Thanks a lot for putting it together! Also, it totally gave me the bug and I can't take my mind off the game. I really wish I could watch more of ASOIAF battle reports!
Discovering this 5 months later, having just started playing this game and really loving it. And, best format for battle reports. I would love to see more.
Damn, what a fantastic video! I’m sure it took a ton of effort with the transitions and animations but IT SHOWS. Congratulations, this is one to be proud of
probably my favourite batrep Scott has done really nice to see two friends playing an interesting game they are familiar with, glad I clicked on it even though it wasn't really my thing going in
I'll echo what everyone else is saying. This is hands down the best battle report I have ever seen. Cutting to interviews during the action is a stroke of genius. Nicely done.
This video brings me joy. Well done team Maniac. Would be cool to see this format much more often from many more channels. Especially with this great game.
This should be the golden standard for battle reports! I was constantly engaged and entertained! This should seriously be a channel staple and you got me more and more curious about ASOIAF!
I love this game! I’ve played it a bit pre-covid but I moved city and there’s not a big scener for ASoiaF here in Sweden so I’ve not played it in years.I just remember that it was by far my favourite war game from a pure rules perspective! If you haven’t tried the siege battle yet I can recommend it, it was an awesome experience!
I was wondering if there were any swedes playing, good to know! Bought a decent amount of minis for it recently, looks like a really great game. Not living in the Gothenburg area by any chance?
This was great Scott, fantastic video, and a great battle report all round. Love that it involved more than just move, score, do an ability. Exposing your friendship gave this so much more depth. Thanks for sharing this with us. Would love to see more
This video made me go back into the game. Played a lot but sold it a couple of years ago (not sure why) but now I have bought 3 starter sets and new units just because of this video... awesome!
This was awesome Scott. The game looks great and you both explained it in a really engaging and interesting way. Loved the overview and rules details, as someone who doesn't know ASOIAF, it made it really easy to follow. Also it was incredible to see you and Curtis talk to openly and honestly about what you mean to each other and how the game has been part of your relationship. Thanks for making this.
I know these are a ton of work, but it really shows. I really like when you approach the hobby from a more wholistic side. I enjoy hearing you talk about board games, game design, tabletop, and general hobby stuff.
As a fellow Greyjoy enjoyer, I agree with your conclusion of sending it earlier with a 7pt unit. Silenced Men with 2 pillage tokens can absolutely delete trays off the board!
This was an amazing BatRep! Long time since i saw such an entertaining Matchup. Good and simple visuals and great chemistry between you two! Hope to see more BatReps from you in the future. PS: A great "how to play" aswell ... you should copy this part as a stand alone video!
went to a game convention yesterday, on the look out especially for an interesting wargame, and there were plenty being actually played, but this was so much more interesting (and beautifully edited, with the behind-the-scenes 'thoughts' interjections - very cool and helpful to follow the game and increase the engagement). I really hope this video does well for you and gets a sequal later, but i feel the game itself is a big factor in the success of the video as well; it might be quite unknown, or at least compared to warhammer the old world at this moment. I would love to see some content from you on warhammer the old world, battle report or just opinions and feelings. Good luck!
As a rule, I don't watch battle reports. But I also don't skip videos on this channel and I'm glad I didn't this time. Really enjoyable report from start to finish, and it was great to see Curtis' develop from slightly hesitant to confident and charismatic by the end.
Absolutely stunning battle report guys, I don’t play Song and maybe I never will. I’ve been watching your games while I do my hobby thing whatever that maybe on the day. I was very impressed with your quality production but above all else how authentic you are - with one another and with us, the audience. This nerdy thing we do is vital for us on many levels. Keep up the fantastic creative content, all the best.
This was an absolutely awesome battle report! Love the format and the whole thing! Seriously well done! (Had to wait a few hours to get time to savour this)
You got me into this game maybe about a year and a half ago and i love it. Thank you. But also now im mad at you cuz i just finished my backlog for this game (6 fully painted armies) and told myself no more.. but then i saw those boltons and i kinda want more. Your greyjoys look amazing btw
@43:10 - It's okay, Scott, we can workshop jokes. How about: "Flayed Men retreating? More like Afraid Men, amirite?" Serious talk, this was great, thanks for sharing this video. Can't wait to see more.
I barely watch bat reps anymore and this is the first time I've watched one for a game I don't even play before. This is fantastic and I hope the vid does well given the effort that's clearly gone in to it.
Worth the wait. Well edited. I love the explanation of how the game plays. Very informative I straight away started to look at arms whilst watching lol.
It's really nice to see a batrep with some serious scheming/strategy. If i can make one suggestion I wish there was more time going through the armies and the lists in the beginning, just describing what each unit is and does at the beginning would help understand the movements more.
This was so refreshing to watch compared to other battle reports. You took the time to explain rules and what’s happening opposed to just taking turns and moves with out saying what’s happening. I don’t even play a song of ice and fire but you had me watching throughout the video instead just leaving it on the background whilst I do something else.
Those dice rolls were painful to watch, Scott. You have my sympathies! Dice aside, amazing production value all around, this is gonna be the gold standard for introducing people to the game.
This is how I would like more battle reports to be like. Good quality. I think you have something here.
40K in 40 mins is also really good if your into 40k
Tou should also check out games night by Yogscast.
good production for a battle report but man the game they played looks boring.
I agree, two friends, no sweating, having fun, awesome stuff.
@@fuzztsimmers3415😂 try it it's phenomenal 😊
This is just SO COOL to see!
Just for @CMONGames to see the impact of content creators - I have jumped into Song thanks to this specific video. One month later I have played more Song games than I have played GW games in the whole 2023. Great batrep of my new favourite wargame.
This might be the most high quality Bat-Rep style video i've ever seen. Really really well done with the editing!
While I would hate to see you switch completely away from painting videos... Holy heck, this battle report is impressive! The production quality and presentation is just... *Chef's kiss*.

Fantastic video for a ASOIAF ! Thanks for that
This is amazing quality. Such a great battle report.
The quality on this was insanely good. You should be super proud of it Scott, also it was adorable watching you and Curtis talk about each other. That's a powerful friendship.
Curtis with a painted army? Never thought I’d see the day.
Many more ASOIAF games, please! The game needs a lot more love!
Fantastic video and a great intro to ASOIAF for new players. I hope this battle report kindles interest in some folks who may never have heard of ASOIAF or have never seen it on the table. This was the best ASOIAF batrep i´ve seen. I will use this to promote ASOIAF to my friends and more. Thank you for this Scott!

Finally! I love the edit and the explanation after the turns where you share your thoughts. Amazing video
I really enjoyed this battle report! I love ASOIAF and especially the Boltons and Greyjoys so this was custom made for me! Great work!
Gotta say, I love this kind of battle report so much. A nice mixture of dudes genuinely having a fun time and a level of polish that helps the viewers follow what’s happening. Keep up the good work!

This was fun. The Herculean effort really shows, and the heartwarming interviews at the end were refreshing and shockingly wholesome.
Dude's such a great episode and such a great message. I whole heartedly enjoy the message of love and friendship and playing games with friends.
They’re having fun with it, not taking it too seriously, whilst acknowledging the significance of the lore. This is how the game was meant to be played.
This is such a fun take. Great snippets of rule explanation, the fact you two being up, "Well, that changed my plans." Love it.
Best bat rep for the best game. Well done
This is by far the best ASOIAF battle report I’ve seen. Would love this to be an ongoing experience
Really one of the best battle reports I’ve ever seen. You’ve got a great formula here. I’d always watch something like this in the future. Honestly the best bat-rep I've seen.

That was simply EPIC!! So much love for this. Rock on Scott, Curtis and Background Evan!
This was absolutely fantastic. As someone completely new to ASOIAF, I'd love to see you do more of these!
FTR, there are definitely ranges between 6"/12", and my wife says short range is just fine!
I don't think id ever get into this game, but your guy's passion and friendship made this super fun to watch!
This video is the perfect battle report format. Thanks a lot for putting it together! Also, it totally gave me the bug and I can't take my mind off the game. I really wish I could watch more of ASOIAF battle reports!

Fun interludes, great animations and inset information, even replacing the card art with your relevant painted miniatures looks totally amazing!
I love this game! I’ve played it a bit pre-covid but I moved city and there’s not a big scener for ASoiaF here in Sweden so I’ve not played it in years.I just remember that it was by far my favourite war game from a pure rules perspective!

What a fantastic batrep. I would watch any game played with this production value. You clearly put so much into this, it's so good. More!
Outstanding production values here mate! I'm sure it took an enormous amount of time and effort, but it's well worth it. Loved it!
This video made me go back into the game. Played a lot but sold it a couple of years ago (not sure why) but now I have bought 3 starter sets and new units just because of this video... awesome!
Great quality & production video! I could watch this over and over. Looks like something you would watch on the TV 👌
Eventhough most of the rules went over my head, I still had a great time watching. I now have a pretty clear image of what a game of ASOIAF is like.
Absolutely fantastic production values! Love seeing some ASOIAF content too, just getting into the game myself so the explanations were extra helpful!
Awesome combo of battle report and how-to-play. Thanks Scott
Please don’t reignite my love of ASOIAF. I almost didn’t survive the last time!
no promises!
I know this had to have taken a shit load of work to shoot and edit. Most excellent dudes!
I know these are a ton of work, but it really shows. I really like when you approach the hobby from a more wholistic side. I enjoy hearing you talk about board games, game design, tabletop, and general hobby stuff.
We waited year for this episode... BUT GOD DAMN it was worth. The editing is just *chef's kiss* this is peak batrep, and i want you to know it scott
Really loved the video, the game, the style of the video, the energy of the two players and their camaraderie. 10/10
Wow. Top notch editing. Please more of these battle reports!
This was such a great video, best battle report I've ever watched. I don't even play Song or care about it but I was invested.
Respect for the sheer amount of editing needed to make a video like this
As a fellow Greyjoy enjoyer, I agree with your conclusion of sending it earlier with a 7pt unit.

Nice! Great editing and the explanation after important decisions etc where you share your thoughts is fantastic.
Just 30 seconds in, I'm already impressed with the editing and the "hook.". Great job, Scott!
As a rule, I don't watch battle reports. But I also don't skip videos on this channel and I'm glad I didn't this time. Really enjoyable report from start to finish, and it was great to see Curtis' develop from slightly hesitant to confident and charismatic by the end.
This. The standard by which other battle reports should be measured by. Loved it
This is legitimately the best battle report I've ever seen. I don't even play this game and I am going to watch the whole thing.
This is probably the best bat rap ive watched. Really good format
Absolutely stunning battle report guys, I don’t play Song and maybe I never will. I’ve been watching your games while I do my hobby thing whatever that maybe on the day. Need more of this. Always thought this game looked lame on the table but with this edit I have a whole new appreciation.
Fantastic bat rep Scott, excellent visual elements, animations and commentary to make an incredibly entertaining gameplay!
So excited for this. Already I can see the love and effort. I hope this is going to become my go to video to show new ASOIAF players.
The bar is so high on asoiaf batreps because of this. Well done, Scott. More! MORE!
This is an amazing quality batrep, great work guys
This was an absolutely awesome battle report! Love the format and the whole thing! Seriously well done! (Had to wait a few hours to get time to savour this)
Cannot wait for the next Battlereport!!!!
You got me into this game maybe about a year and a half ago and i love it. Thank you. But also now im mad at you cuz i just finished my backlog for this game (6 fully painted armies) and told myself no more.. but then i saw those boltons and i kinda want more. Your greyjoys look amazing btw
6 painted armies?!? You're killing it!
Thanks for a great battlereport! Inspired me to get started on painting my Greyjoys and Baratheons and doing some demo games.
@43:10 - It's okay, Scott, we can workshop jokes. How about: "Flayed Men retreating? More like Afraid Men, amirite?"
Serious talk, this was great, thanks for sharing this video. Can't wait to see more.
Where is that NCU board from? Beautiful and awesome battle report!
Fantastic! We need more of this
I barely watch bat reps anymore and this is the first time I've watched one for a game I don't even play before. This is fantastic and I hope the vid does well given the effort that's clearly gone in to it.
Worth the wait. Well edited.
I love the explanation of how the game plays. Very informative I straight away started to look at arms whilst watching lol.
Great video!!! Best Battle report out there! I really felt part of the game and learned a lot. Love the cut aways, sooo much! It's perfect!
Took me halfway through the vid to realoze the unit cadds have the actual mini on them! Amazing touch, Scott this was worth the wait!
What a great battle report! Hope to see more!
