Sad thing is that Hamilton slept at his work place for 9 weeks because he wasn’t aloud to go home in those 9 weeks he locked his door and only left for food and the send letters to Eliza trying to apologize
Also I love the emotion when he grabbed her and was pushed off when things were thrown at him and how Angelica kept him from death by Eliza and just the ending killed me

both actually, she went by both names not just Betsy or Eliza, Alex tended to call her Eliza but also did on occasion call her Betsy but Angelica almost always called her Betsy

I do get the point that the animator was getting across however, Eliza was so faithful to Alexander that she never threw things at him or hurt him but her burning a box of letters and sitting infront of the fire crying or just yelling at him for a few minutes wouldn’t make for an interesting animatic. Though she didn’t go crazy or hurt him, she did fall into depression after her son died, but she probably wanted to do all of this and couldn’t bring herself to do it.

As a child, seeing your parents fight makes you really scared and tears you up easily.
I cannot imagine how Eliza and Hamilton's fight could've gone down with the children listening. It must've been so painful ;-;
Eh. I was like 4 or 6 when I understood my parents' arguments. I casually watched or just sat outside and wait till it's done. Even now I still watch 'em argue and sometimes fight.
Mine divorced when I was a baby. I was raised by my grandmothers, the only time I saw a fight that bad was when I was seven.
I don't have to witness my parents fighting because they are divorced :D but I get to see my dad every other weekend since I live with my mom so it's all good. Plus the divorced when I was 1 so I am used to it
Whenever my parents fight, I start to cry, and my mom says "STOP CRYING LIKE A BABY! WHY DO YOU LISTEN IN ON ADULTS BUSINESS!"
I kinda wish she wouldn't call me a crybaby, cause that somehow makes me cry even more. But, I can't really contain myself. I just sort've break. I really do need a better strategy of trying to contain my tears, so um any suggestions. Jeez, thinking about the fighting is already making my heart feel heavy. This is so well done and hurtful because it actually shows their children's reaction and Eliza's pain like no other animation that I've seen. And God, Alex's facial expressions of regret and fear and pain seeing his family torn apart for his decisions and actually trying to stop Eliza for burning the letters.

I've seen some of the letters Hamilton wrote Eliza while she was away; they were awful, he was telling her to stay away for as long as she needed for her health, but he was only saying that because he was still having the affair with Maria. It's kind of crazy that she forgave him for all that and was never really mad at him for it. Shows what kind of a person she was.
Either way, I loved this animatic and how much motion all the characters have. Usually these animatics confine Eliza and/or Hamilton to one room (may or may not be giving me some ideas for my animatic :p). Really nice job, sorry I couldn't stay till the end of the stream. Keep up the great work :)

(Historic correction here, not musical lmao) Right after Besty got back from upstate, Alexander told her about the affair and apologized. She didn't really care, it was common for men to have mistresses. I'm not sure if this part is correct, I'm just guessing on this: I think it only made Besty snap when he published it in the newspaper, it was like 95 pages long too. What’s really sad is that Phillip’s death literally ruined her life. Because when she learned that he had died, since she was so close to him, her mind went into so much shock, she lost her mind and went into a state of mind they called ‘eternal childhood’ where she couldn’t even recognize family members. Before his death she was a perfectly normal girl, and it’s sad that at only 17 she lost her mind and had her life ruined. After Hamilton died it only worsened. It’s said that she referred to them as if Phillip and Alexander were still alive. When Eliza was to old to care for her anymore she was put in a mental hospital or something like that. She could have led such a good life..... why?
The end part with little Angelica 😢 its so bittersweet and heartwarming in a way (i keep thinking she was a huge daddy's girl). This is such a good take on the song, I think ive seen only one other where Alexander is there listening/watching but hes just standing there. This here had them interacting, and you showed the passioned hurt of the moment of the song. And Eliza's heartbreak and immeadent reaction is so...alive(thats not the right word but id be repeating myself lol)
Stephanie Barnes I do think that she was daddy's little princess as he and Angelica would often play piano together and when she had her breakdown, he got her birds and watermelons since he knew she loved them. It's heartbreaking when you think about how the Hamiltons practically lost their two oldest children.

The musical doesnt give a sense of time hisyorically but there were seven years between the affair ending and the pamphlet being published, then four or five years between Phillip's duel.

Wow... I am absolutely speechless. Anyways, back to my typical top 10 comment because this is too precious for a top 5.
10. Starting with the end of Reynolds Pamphlet is excessively unique. It really adds to the animatic
9. Before I forget, I'm going to say how amazing it is that you did a historically accurate animatic for this, absolutely beautiful.
8. While most people portray Burn with heartbreak and pure sadness, you made sure that everyone knew that she wasn't just devastated, she was pissed.
7. Like I said in the live stream, the little small bits of speech from Alexander hurt me. Especially the short "Betsy I-"
6. It astounds me with how many frames of pure effort are put into this. To draw stuff like this is hard enough, but to put in countless hours to animate it is even harder.
5. The amount of raw emotion you can put into your animatics is incredible. You can see Eliza breaking down and you can see Alexander's regret.
4. When Eliza chased Alexander and Angelica held her back you can really see the pain on Eliza's face...
3. Eliza's appearance throughout this looks so wrecked. She looks so emotionally drained which is perfect because she is.
2. Having Alexander in the animatic just watching as Eliza breaks down hurt so much. He's trying so hard to justify has actions but Eliza won't take it.
1. That bit with Angie at the end killed me. Just, seeing her in the hallway hurt so much and then watching as Alexander turned slightly with tears in his eyes actually got me sobbing.

I can safely say that this is the only Burn animatic that's made me cry. The emotion you put into Eliza and having Hamilton in the same room with her as she's doing this really pulls on the heartstrings. Then having Angelica stop Eliza and holding her was simply beautiful. And little Angie at the end simply broke me.

God I can only imagine what it was like in the Hamilton house after the pamphlet was released but I think you captured it pretty well and by pretty well I mean RIDICULOUSLY WELL

Finally an accurate representation!!! I love the usual animatics but I've always wished I could see the characters depicted as their actual selves and not the actors from the musical..
And it'll be criminal to not mention the details.... The fact that Alex saw Eliza breaking down, the frustration she experienced is more than evident in these shots, how she suddenly gets the idea of burning the letters, starts throwing things at him, walks about the house aimlessly, *little Angelica* ... Truly a masterpiece!
I love how you incorporated the kids into this so much. Like, a lot of people forget that they had seven children and most of them were so little. And the way that older ones were comforting the babies was so genius i love this so much

I loved how you showed the children’s reactions. How they saw their parents fighting, and seeing both Hamilton and Eliza there, instead of just Eliza made it even more entertaining. And I loved all the details you put into this! Great job!
Personally speaking I wouldn't have forgiven him so easily I know he said sorry but the only reason she forgive him was because there son died but if he didn't I wonder if she would have ever forgiven him?
Me: Oh that was wonderful! I never thought of the idea of Eliza talking to Alex during Burn and it was a nice and unique idea.

Intense and emotional, 2 things I love about animatics. Amazing!!!
He...has historical hair...I think your the first person to do that and the first to actually have him be there when Eliza burns the letters. Hammy hugging Eliza, and...someone catching her, the anger/sadness/grief, running out the room, little Angelica at the end... Everything(feelings/actions) is so realistic! So many emotions are running through me right now...I can't look at their broken hearts...So well put together... Insta Fav!

Rewatching it for the 5th time now, I realize why I love it so much. Most animators have Eliza by herself, and she's all sad and weepy. But she's JUST sad and weepy, you usually cant tell she's very mad at alexander. But the way you included both of them in this animatic, and mad it clear that Eliza wanted to quite literally kill Alexander, just makes it so much better. I love this so much and its probally the best "Burn" animatic I have ever seen. And it makes me look at their story in a whole new way. Anyways- time to go rewatch it again ;).
This is one of the most amazing burn animatics I've ever seen and probably will ever see. The characters are historically accurate (Not just in looks but also when he calls her Betsy and the fact that you see more than just Angelica and Philip), it's got Reynolds Pamphlet at the start, Hamilton and Angelica and all the kids are there, the drawings and storyline are incredible and I LOVE that you actually added their letters and the Reynolds Pamphlet on the letters. Though now I'm wondering, if Elizabeth burnt the letters, how do we know what they said?
I personally think that the letters she burnt were the letters she sent him. That's why there are still surviving letters from Alexander to Eliza

I love that bit from 2:38 to 2:45 - I've imagined a staging where Eliza is angry, but also very scared of what Alex wrote, because it's not like him at all - she's reading the evidence of him having a mental breakdown and it's too much for her to bear, and yours is the only animatic I've seen that adds that edge to that bit.
