Hi from rainy, loud Los Angeles! 🙋♀️ Had a bit of thunder a few mins ago. Gorgeous restaurant. Love the tree! Good looking plate of food too! Glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely Venue to enjoy Fish & Chips! my most favourite of meals & this didn't disappoint - perfection on a plate. The fish looked exceptional & guess it taste the same, loved the sides too, i love how you always give the viewer an exact & honest opinion of what is on the plate too, I could tell you enjoyed this meal, definitely worth what you paid. Thank you for sharing, take care 💜 XX
I don't mind fusion foods but not for me. They got the fish right using cod but that first cut into the fish revealed soggy batter that means it wasn't cooked at the right temperature. Very expensive even for a sit down so really unable to find many positives if I'm honest. The important equation in this vlog though is that you liked it and we were entertained 👍
Loved the stylish looking restaurant,it was almost a London Gentleman's Club. Just oozing class. Food, soggy chips always gonna happen when fish is plonked onto the chips. A wise man once said: " is it the fish that makes the dish😢? Or does the batter matter 😮? ? " Seemed a good balance ❤ The cost for an eat in restaurant was brilliant. Although I thought the portion was a little small,I'd pop along for a meal if in the area Cheers Allan&Family
spending over £19 for fish and chips does seem a bit much. it not a family meal out since you will need a small bank loan to do it. I once again have to say as I do a lot but I use it as a bench mark. Greene Kings does 2 meals for £11.49 and then you can get 2 fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar with lemon on the side. Does seem far better value.
That looks amazing and has a very impressive dining area. Fish and Chips with a twist is an exciting new concept. I am going to try cooking that at home; it looks mouth-watering.
It did look a lovely meal, i suppose it did also cost alot of money too..... I guess i would do my own home made chips/ wedges, and get fresh fish and it wouldnt cost too much, throw in mushy peas or curry sauce and that would b good enough....... 😊
In the wild west of Utah, we call those thick fries Steak Fries.Or potato wedges. Some have nicknamed them Jo Jos. I wish we had that beautiful fish here. Its rare and expensive around here. Oh it looks so good😍😋
I am sure there is no great shortage of cheap fish and chips places where you live so the price tag is fine for a special meal. That looked like a great combination of flavors. I'd have never thought of combining Indian flavors with the classic fish and chips recipe but it makes complete sense. Really good episode.
@@philipjones9458 Curry doesn't count. Y'all use that for everything. There is probably evidence of someone baking a cake with curry sauce as the frosting.
Well its about twice the price i would like to pay, but having said that the presentation and quality means the next time i travel to Leeds i would go their for a special treat, certainly looked delicious!😊
I walked past that restaurant's building on Friday and wondered what was inside :) Now I know. It looks like a really nice place with a good menu selection; worth a visit on my next day off.
Albion Place? West Yorkshire house in the background. Lived in Oz for 20 years. Still looks familiar though! Did nt that place used to be a gentlemans club?
£17.50 for fish and chips 😱 I can get that from my local chippy for less than £10. No danger would I pay that amount for any reason! Also, the fact the aoili had a skin on top suggests its been sitting around for ages waiting to be used, so how fresh is anything else?
@eadweard. many. I live very close the the coast, and we have a beautiful promenade on the beach. Many restaurants there serve fish and chips, in a lovely setting, with great views of the sea. And even if I was just getting it from a chippy, I could still enjoy it in the luxurious setting of my own home. This whole you have to pay for luxury is a scam. Local places, serving good locally produced menus, are better than paying for some nonsense because they can. Buy local, buy quality, and enjoy the family feel of a good place, instead of paying into the pockets of some so called upscale place where all you are paying for is the name.
A fine dining experience that couldn't be more English unless it came wrapped in the afternoon edition of The Daily Mail. I'd bet a few quid that Bertie Wooster and HM George V ordered take away from here.
It was quite expensive but if it's good quality you don't mind paying that price. Where i love fish and chips are £8.50 and they aren't the best. Yours did look nice but i wouldn't have eaten the side dishes. One thing i noticed when you cut into the fish the batter was soggy inside on the bottom, i don't like soggy batter
Basically anything veggie - be interesting to see a veggie comparison of burgers, the breakfasts, the Sunday roasts (nut roasts!) etc@@everydayimeating3407
@@everydayimeating3407 I second this comment, I'm vegetarian and would love to see veggie meal comparisons! Fast food comparisons would be my vote, and fry-ups 👍
i enjoy your channel but i have to say when you did burger king vs wimp burger you didnt get wimpy best burger... their quater pounder with cheese beats burger king hands down... dont believe me try it and chips with their special sauce on the side... now that heaven
The problem with the modern world is people are accepting excruciating high prices as the norm. Way overpriced like everything these days. Not worth a penny over £8.50
Lol that is not a masala fish. Masala fish is an Indian dish and it is red and not battered but is tandoori. This is just average fish and chips, nothing masala about it
Too expensive ! And I wonder when Britain will realize that fish can be had without batter ; it can be grilled & there's tons of varieties ! This type is bland.
What did you think of this Fish & Chips?
Comment Below 😀
I ave had curry batter before ore I thought this looked pretty good I'd pay for this

Its a delicious fusion!
No: Soggy batter, mushy "triple cooked chips" [oil temp way too low] and a custard skin on the "who knows what this is sauce".
That fish looked fantastic. Good value too for a restaurant meal. Was it in Leeds? You've got some great eateries over there 👍👍

Ever heard of curry sauce the most popular sauce in U.K with fish and chips.

Hey little dude! Nice to see you again. Cripes! I could finish that in 5 seconds! Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!!!!
Me too 😀
Wow this had my mouth watering! Thanks for trying food that is a bit different. Far, far better than drab fast food outlets.
Far more expensive too.

A bit different and looked tasty, probably one of the best ones.
I agree
Lovely place food looked really nice I would eat that
It was, I would go again
They look like frozen chips you get in most supermarkets they call them steak cut and come out of oven looking exactly like that
Yes, agreed it definitely was worth It looked amazing.

The tea set, shabby, chic, mismatch, it was all the rage in the 90s and early 2000
Its making a comeback!

Looked good except for having mint yogurt with it and the price was ridiculous

I would expect peas for that price, at least. It seemed a lovely place though.
Amazing !
Thanks! 😀
Not enough chips. The garnish. No mushy peas. No scraps (scrumps, batter bits, etc)
Those chips look like what happens when you use the wrong potatoes in oil thats too hot.
the day after tomorrow
Seems quite expensive menu something you couldn’t go to everytime, nice little place tho really not many chip’s considering how much you paying for

Sustainably caught fish. Deliciously appetising food. Worth every penny.
Can get fish n chips with peas and curry sauce for £7.90
It would have cost just a few pence in the 1950s. We should demand that again now.
Come on now be fair it did have poppy seed batter & cress garnish 🥴
He was lucky to find a seat too. 😮

over priced, paying for the nice place more than the food
Rip off merchants, i wouldnt pay that price for fish n chips.
In South African Rand that is R500. Its not worth that amount of money. Trust me. Go and travel outside of Britain
