Turned my T40 into peanut brittle. pwz2g chewed up the outside without a budge. Gonna have to take off the whole unit and weld on a socket

Good video. I need to do the same for my 99 TJ. I'm going to test that 40 torx to see if I'll strip it, else I'll bring it to a pro.

how'd it go? I have a 99 I am replacing the belt next year, just because, and I might as well do the tensioner and idler while I am at it I might look in to replacing it with a normal hex head bolt if it exists.

@@meggabitz I gently tried to turn the torx and felt it would strip-- I'm not going to go further myself. I bought all the parts, tensioner, pulley, belt, pump and will have my local mechanic take care of it professionally.

@@RBTheMechanic when I use the square ratchet to push the belt tensioner, it doesn’t move at all. Yours moved quiet easily
