Love the deep dive into Land Cruiser, going forward this is a must for each vehicle. (Including Morris when you get it back in for snagging)

Totally agree. A walkthrough of all the feature’s when complete is amazing. Showing off all the attention to little things, interior features, etc.

The two door conversion on the MK2 Jag looks fantastic The work has been drastic but nothing is made of plastic That pinstripe brought the Escort home really finished off the beautiful two tone The blue E Type I really like from what it was before it's day and night No wonder at Retropower you're busy alright You've had a winner not a loser with the craftsmanship on that Land Cruiser You can take it to all kinds of adventurous places and the offroad lights have smiley faces Xilan goin above and beyond but for longevity it's like waving a magic wand The engine makes it a beast of which to be fond Every component practically donned Thanks Cal

The Toyota looks amazing! The details are what make it so special! For people who didn't know would think it was designed like that, I think that is a great advert for a successful resto=mod so that it doesn't look like someone has messed with it.The new owner will be thrilled with it!

The detail on that LC is simply amazing. I love that it looks relatively standard but the more you look, the more you see. Brilliant work as always.

You probably could have heard my eyes rolling from the other side of the world when you first introduced us to the Land Cruiser, far from my favourite type of vehicle. You have however knocked it out of the park. Hell, I’d probably drive it given the chance. Great work 🙂

Absolutely beautiful Landcruiser. Form and function.
In classical Greek, the word 'beauty', refers to the appropriateness a thing has for its task; this build is beautiful.

It takes a bit of Hutzpa to take on perfecting a Toyota- for the money they are sold for always solid; but RP did an awesome job to get it to where you have, and still have the flavor. Churchill is going to be as important a car for your shop as Gordon's was- it is awesome and the Twenty USD paint job hasn't even started!

Hey Loving the LandCruiser....and its come to fruition in an amazing way....However, I can't see a place to put 'stuff'...ie the glove box has now got the aircon behind it. If its a beach and cruising around vehicle the glovebox will keep being opened and there is no space. It's a simple thing that will drive them mad. A simple way to fix this will be to put some canvas nets (like a 50-60's rally car?) on the roof where the sun visors are and some next to your knees. Not having somewhere to put sunglasses, a book or chamois to wipe the screen without it being an exercise will get tedious really quickly.
I love what you do so this wasn't really a criticism, just a helpful suggestion.

Churchill looks amazing although it’s still in metal. Cannot wait to see the body colour to go with the copper brightwork. It’s going to be rather spectacular. Great walk though on the Land Cruiser. Not my favourite build but your engineering standards shine and I’m sure the owner will be pleased.

The lLand Cruiser looks incredible. My only gripe (knowing that not everyone is into it) if I we're in the position to do a project vehicle like this would be a more sophisticated audio system befitting this kind of build. I can dream...

Fantastic episode as usual and the Land Cruiser looks amazing. I was surprised to see the door key and fuel door key cylinders left chrome rather than zylon coated to suit door handles,Also what diff ratio did you use.Did the transmission gearing make up for diesel ratio being ok to use with the V8.

    • @fraserwright9482
      @fraserwright9482 11 месяцев назад +3

It stops pressure on seals and vapour. Like the s bend in your loo. You only have the foot of pipe pulling not the side of your compartment tank as the mount on the body for the filler neck is mid height of the fuel tank. Without this swirl you park it nose up and it would Syphon out the neck or into the compartments. But that swirl keeps a piston of air stopping it which is failsafe.

As nice as the Land Cruiser is - and surely, it is - the originals were truly beat 'em about vehicles, subjected to the most cruel usage over the years. Their character still managed to shine through of course. Myself, I just couldn't own or drive this one - it's simply 'too nice'. A beater version, 'fer sure'.

The Land Cruiser thing has gone on too long. I find it only mildly interesting technically or as a vehicle or as shape uninteresting, just a box ! Why anyone would want one or go to the vast expense of creating this is beyond me. Self indulgence gone mad. I salute the effort but the result is still as the new original second rate as a SUV. I look forward to it being handed over to the customer.

The beauty of them was their rugged simplicity - Toyota took the crappy jeep and made it work for the Outback! I'd love one on coils with 80Series running gear and not much else. The ultimate beach-bug!

I have a brother in law running and owning two large farming operations in Australia, He swears by his old Defender, for the same reasons you mentioned, I have one, from new these last 17 years, as a third car, no issues at all) Mine has never seen the inside of a garage, sits outside. It just goes. The owner of this Toyota will be facing a bill of £300,000 plus from these boys. Now you decide is it worth it ??? The answer must be no in any sane world. It's nice junk but still junk. Like lipstick on a pig you might say. @@dancarter482
