what helps me ?
1.compressing a lil of that 808 so its transients do not cancel out those frequencies in the kick
2.putting a dynamic eq bell cut to the 808 on the frequencies where it's cancelling the kick
3.making the kick a lil louder than the 808
4.cutting out some of the sub bass (boomy) sounding frequencies may help alot to make the kick kinda thin if it's too much fatty with those low sub frequencies...
and if nothing from above works i just pick another 808 lmao.

I got a big issue with my master sounding good in fl but it’s trash on the phone and in the car
When mixing songs with both 808s and kicks- I’ve often noticed that certain notes of the 808 pattern are out of phase with the kick, but only certain notes. So, I end up having to split the 808 melody into 2 separate tracks, one track with the polarity flipped, the other not. And this is both before and after processing… Why is this?
