ndspeedster Paradise Island was an excursion out of the Sosua/Puerto Plata area...I recommend Sosua/Puerto Plata/Cabarete for night life. Snorkeling right off Sosua Beach is very good there's a reef about 150 meters off shore....can't comment on night life around Paradise Island area,..friendly chicas abound everywhere....enjoy!
