@@syguy3599 DJ Krush, DJ Cam & DJ Shadow, check some of the old stuff from these insane beatmakers I'm sure you'll find something in that kind of style.
It's the oringinal version; "hell hath no fury than a woman scorned." It's a song of emotional insanity. This tone just happens to fit the lyrics compared to the mainstream release.
It's an alternate mix of the album original; 12" EP had 2 extra remixes. I didn't play the album version after hearing this 1 💜 It's not 'darker' just better, stronger.
+Caleb Brakeman Interesting fact the track is not included on the soundtrack but is still included in the film. The band didn't agree apparently with the scene the song was used for and it was nixed after a wee legal battle ;-)
Too bad they didn't allow it on the official CD soundtrack, it is one of the best movie soundtracks of all time, and missing this one song is a big loss.
I'm so tired of playing Playing with this bow and arrow Gonna give my heart away Leave it to the other girls to play For I've been a temptress too long Just... Give me a reason to love you Give me a reason to be a woman I just want to be a woman From this time, unchained We're all looking at a different picture Through this new frame of mind A thousand flowers could bloom Move over, and give us some room Give me a reason to love you Give me a reason to be a woman I just want to be a woman ...
it only took u 16 years..not bad... haha but seriously I had searched for a song since the 90s its called life in mono by Mono.. i didn't know the lyrics, song title or band name but i remember it was used in EVER AFTER movie trailer, but not in the movie at all.. and one day i was searching for it and all i could remember was the humming part and the lalala or something and a word that i couldn't understand cuz it was french i think "ingénue" and i saw some reddit user asked about it too.. and the second i saw the reply and clicked play i remember screaming waking my friend who was asleep lol back then they rarely ever announced song title on radio stations,.. so u kind of had to know already or thru word of mouth......its so frustrating..only one song i heard on the radio a lot in 1996 i have never found..
This shows my age and that, at some point in time, I was cool - I had (have?) this on original 12” pressing. I used to play it when I was a college radio DJ my third try at going to school. Ah, seems like 25 years ago. Wait, it was. Wow.
"From this time, unchained We are all looking at a different picture Through this new frame of mind A thousand flowers could bloom Move over and give us some room..." "This is the beginning of for ever... and ever... It's time to move over..."

This track is STILL WICKED AND HARD AS FUCK... BETTER THAN 99.999999% of ANYTHING ELSE TODAY.. MISS REAL RAW MUSIC. First heard this remix and original in early 90s. Still hits hard-core
@CDXX really? didn't know that. I have this version on my Glory Times Cd (Double CD-Single with Sour Times and Glory Box remixes and versions) and this version was released commercially by Portishead. are you sure Scorn and Portishead had a beef? I thought the legal lawsuit was between Portishead and The Craft producers because they didn't want their music released on the film.
@CDXX i still would love to know more about it. But this version was released officially by Portishead in the Glory Box CD-Single from 1994. As you can see in this link. So it was an official remix. Maybe the movie producers approached Scorn instead of Portishead to license the remix and they got mad with Scorn. But this remix was definitely made with their consent. www.discogs.com/Portishead-Glory-Box/master/5557
@CDXX to be honest, Portishead is very protective of their work and I am even impressed they allowed their music to be featured on the movie/soundtrack in the first place. Specially being a mainstream/Hollywood movie. I don't think it's a dispute over money because they also never allowed their music to be commercially exploited on ads and stuff...
Gave up looking for the song itself. You can purchase the album Glory Box by Portishead (1995) with Scorn (Glory Box Remix) on it. $7 for a new cd on Amazon.
This song is actually three different remixes of the same song. It's Portishead's version of Glory Box, I just wanna be a woman and some other version of this song (the name escapes me at the moment) all combined into this one song: Scorn.
@hoiaroam according to wikipedia: CD single "Glory Box" (edit) "Toy Box" CD maxi and 12" "Glory Box" (edit) "Toy Box" "Scorn" "Sheared Box" all of them being different versions of glory box ;)
2:20 absolutely hypnotic 💙
Portishead is one of those bands i’ll always go back to listening to religiously no matter how long it’s been
I love this remix. My personal favorite from portishead. So intense.
Derek Clarke I agree!

I really wish music like this were still made to today's stuff...

There were some good tracks, especially this 12" re-mix, but music didn't end in the '90s; still stuff out there, like Fever Ray?

@@robbobbrah8953 no.. the original is called glory box and its a lighter tone than this. This mix is heavy and has a dark sensual sound.
