if u need to take clearance it’s better to take from the bottom side of liner…

In 2stroke engine stuffing box will take care of scraping right..then how last ring could be scraper ring??

This last ring u can cl as oil control ring also.... It controls the lube oil flow for cooling both ring and liner.

If the rings go smooth while installing then it means it's fitted rt.. U can also turn the engine for checking the free Movement of piston

It is always advisable to carry out butt clearance using new liner...
U can compare the reading with the used liner and the reading can be taken from the top area...

Sir why the top ring is like stepped groove.. Than the other ring

Thanks for your good query sir... That groove is given as the top ring will undergo much pressure than the other rings.
These groves we can say as controlled pressure relief rings which s commonly cald as cpr rings.
