Yeah, given the lore and the reason behind it's design, it kind of reminds me of those cards that are only worth playing in the video game they're affiliated with and given these cards came from what looks like an arcade machine that not many people went to, I'm not surprised no one has personal feeling for this archetype. It's not like Celtic Guardian or Flame Swordsman who yes are terrible, but kids who grew up with the anime would be drawn to because they just like Joey or Yugi using them, even if they're not the greatest. and similarly, some archetypes are beloved because of the cool artwork, like I personally love most beast cards that actually LOOK like organic animals (a shocking number of breast monsters are just humans with animal like armor or robotic looking things or some object that happens to relate to beasts cause "all nature is the same). Most beast cards aren't that good though, but have some really cute artwork that I personally like. so for sentimental reasons I may be tempted to build a deck around the card, like one of my favorites is Saffira Queen of Dragons, but she's really hard to use with advantage because when I do use her, either she's just a "win more" card or if I'm using her effects, I'm losing and she happens to be a comeback option. Another theme of AoJ besides their anti-light is the "search and destroy". Make them a boss monster that "If it's your opponent draw phase, look at their top of the deck cards. Konami can very lazy way to make the deck viable by making field spell change all opponent monster to light attribute and floodgate your opponent can only activate 1 light monster effect per turn, even the field spell leave the field, force opponent must remove it using backrow removal. 0:01 Idea for a pair of “Ally of Justice” support cards that are designed to make them FAR more relevant (hopefully): _Ally of Justice - Targets Verified!_ Continuous Trap _Can be activated from your hand or the turn it was set while your opponent controls a LIGHT monster. Unaffected by the effects of LIGHT monsters. All monsters in your opponent’s hand and GY and on their field are also LIGHT-attribute. Each time your opponent Summons, Declares and attack with, or activates the effect of a LIGHT monster; Apply 1 of the following effects._ _⚪️Add 1 card that mentions “Ally of Justice” in its name or text to your hand (from your Deck or GY.)_ _⚪️Normal Summon/Set or Special Summon 1 monster that mentions “Ally of Justice” in its name or text from your hand._ _⚪️Gain LP equal to that LIGHT monster’s total ATK/DEF._ _Ally of Justice - Mass Production Facility_ Field Spell _Unaffected by the effects of LIGHT monsters. During your Main Phase, You can Normal Summon/Set 2 “Ally of Justice” monsters in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. You can Normal Summon/Set “Ally of Justice” monsters with 1 less Tribute. While you control a Face-up “Ally of Justice” Synchro monster, you can Synchro Summon Synchro Monsters from your Extra Deck, using “Ally of Justice” cards from your hand and/or Field as Materials. Synchro or Tribute Summoned “Ally of Justice” monsters you summon using other “Ally of Justice” monsters as Tributes and/or Materials gain the effects of those Tributes/Materials._ THERE, the Trap makes sure their LIGHT-focused effects are always relevant, while also letting you react to any of said monsters actions, while the field spell lets you summon out Ally monsters en masse AND lets you stack their effects if your Tribute/Synchro summon them using other Ally monsters as Tribute/Material. Hopefully this would make them SOMEWHAT adequate.
@ Well it STILL revolves around the otherwise lousy “Ally of Justice” archetype, so I’d say it balances itself out in a manner of speaking. I’ve brainstormed similarly powerful cards for the “Alien” and “Arcana Force” archetypes among others, and people tend to say those otherwise insane cards BAERLY even things out when saddled with sub-par archetypes like theirs.
Enchantment: All permanents controlled by an opponent, or in an opponent's deck are white; counter white spell cast by any player unless its owner pays (3).
I would agree, but considering that they took AoJ's boss monsters, taped them together and made them an new boss monster for Genex I'm not sure what's left for AoJ.
only that synchro ally of justice is good but the moment starving vemon dragon, new yubel supports, destiny heroes, and like dark fusions became a thing the poor synchro got outclassed lol
...ok, i didn't know there were enough cards for that to be an archtype. Catastor is the only one i know by name and i always assumed there were only like 2 more.
The idea of a deck designed to target one specific type of card sounds terrifying until you realize players can be prepared ahead of time for it. This deck could of work is all the cards had the ability to change what element there effect targets.
FINALLY! An Archetype that is a true failure in every sense of the Word and not a case of "It wasn't Minimum Tier 1, so it sucks" As Ally of Justice can't Even do the one thing it was designed to: Be an ANTI-LIGHT Deck (and debatably also a counter to Cards that want to be Face-Down First)
Honestly idk why this is getting a video, not because AoJ doesn't suck, it absolutely does, it's just that we all know why it sucks and it's not like it's bad in a particularly interesting way.
Maybe he's sick of getting pushback every time he makes one of these videos, so he's picking on the one archetype nobody in their right minds would defend as not a failure?
I don’t know if I wouldn’t say there was no reason, since he shows why the deck has gotten no legacy support and why it would be pointless in the first place, since every card does its job terribly and there are others that do the same thing, but better. At least with the other duel terminal decks, there was some cohesion support was able to build on, but not really the AoJ. Then again, maybe he just wants to cover all the duel terminal archetypes.
Idea for an “Ally of Justice” boss monster that amplifies the other Allies: _Ally of Justice Lightfall_ (DARK) Level 8 Machine/Synchro/Tuner/Effect _1+ Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters_ _You can also Synchro Summon this card from your GY, using “Ally of Justice” monsters you control as Materials. This Synchro Summoned card gains the effects of any “Ally of Justice” monsters that are used as Synchro Material for this cards summon. All Face-up monsters your opponent controls are also LIGHT-Attribute. “Ally of Justice” monsters you control can attack all LIGHT monsters your opponent controls, once each. During the Damage Step only, If an “Ally of Justice” monster you control attacks an opponent’s LIGHT monster (Quick Effect); That “Ally of Justice” monster gains gains ATK equal to it’s original DEF, and DEF equal to it’s original ATK. If an “Ally of Justice” monster you control attacks a defense position LIGHT monster, inflict piercing battle damage._ ATK/3000 DEF/2500
If they get a spell card that searches an ally of justice monsters, field spell that let's you special summon an ally of justice monsters from your hand or GY if you control no monsters but locks you out of special summon except machine monsters for the rest of the turn, DARK machine monsters you control gain 500 ATK and something else
Yeah, even in 2024, I STILL run Catastor in my T.G. deck, cuz it's easy to make Lv 5 Synchros with them and it has helped me out in the past, Buster Blader Fusion Monster - that Tidal Tin really paying for itself there especially as I still have Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning somewhere around here! And I did pull the FIRE Ruler as well (which I knew I would)! And, in Garadholg's defence, it does look cool, even if its Effect makes it worse than T.G. Rush Rhino and Crystal Beast Topaz Tiger due to gaining less ATK... and only against specific Attributes... and not having a Floating Effect tied to the Archetype's Main Deck plays...
Actually, I used Ally of Justice Light Gazer, but it was in my side deck in case of battling a light deck. I did use Catastor more in my deck back then. In fact, Ally of Justice Catastor was given to me by a friend on my birthday. But I also ran Genex Undine and Genex Controller in my deck, but that was because I also ran Tree Born Frog in my deck and since Tree Born Frog's effect can only work in the graveyard, Genex Undine's effect seemed like the quickest way to get Tree Born Frog the graveyard.
While Catastor, Cycle Reader, and Quarantine saw some success, their effects intended use for the Duel Terminal Lore were either too narrow or were just too clunky to use effectively. The Spell and Trap Bouncing Tuner was one of the few exceptions. The later support didn’t quite address the problems either.
Can you do a summary of the branded/ fallen of albaz I have loved the Albaz group of cards ever since my friend got a structure deck and walled my rag tag deck I made by mixing Kaiba’s and Yugi’s deck from the pharaoh box and this was the first time I was walled by something and now I have the same structure deck and many albaz decks in master duel
Ally of justice deck didn't fail because it was bad, it failed because it wasn't even good at beating light monsters. If the entire archetype was roughly at the level of Rudra, the "actually, the boost isn't that bad but it's only useful against light," it would have at least achieved minimal success in design.
This archetype is the poster child of horrid card design, next to VehicRoids. When Konami prioritized lore over sensible good card design and still do for many awful decks. Nothing redeemable about this deck. It should be forgotten about and left in the past Also I hate these stupid memes of archetype getting support because it-s talked about in an video. Replacing one meme from Rata with another
I feel like a field spell turning all non-DARK cards on the field, GY, and hand also into LIGHT type when an Ally of Justice monster is on the field in addition to reducing the levels of all DARK machines in the hand by 1 would help significantly. Maybe another card or two, with 3 Light Imprisoning Mirror.
Amusingly, according to lore, Ally of Justice actually COULDN'T beat Worms. It took the rise of Genex for the tide to begin turning, and only because the Genex didn't support themselves. They were an endless army that just appeared, and thus never needed to.
Ally Of Justice Catastor was a synchro I used so many times and thanks to I won a club tournament in high school, love that card. A shame this archtype couldn't find its stride I love concept but the execution was off.
Just as a starter idea for support: Simple, but should be enough to get the job done without being OP due to certain requirements. Ally of Justice Supreme Judge Rank 4 Dark/Machine/Xyz/Effect 2000/1800 2+ DARK machine monsters All monsters your opponent owns are treated as LIGHT monsters. Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Ally of Justice" monster from your deck. Ally of Justice Absolute Jailer Level 10 Dark/Machine/Fusion/Effect 3000/2500 2 level 5 or higher "Ally of Justice" monsters You can Fusion Summon this card by sending fusion materials with the same name from your hand/field to the GY. LIGHT monsters your opponent owns have their effects negated. Ally of Justice Perfect Obliteration Level 8 Dark/Synchro/Machine/Effect 2500/2100 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters. This card may attack a number of times equal to the number of "Ally of Justice" monsters you control during each battle phase. If this card battles a LIGHT monster; banish that monster face-down, and if you do, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
If this archetype were to be fixed with 1 card, it would need to be a link-1 that has the summoning effect like Junk Speeder but with a Synchro or AoJ lock on it, and also changes Attributes of monsters on field Another way to save this with multiple cards instead is giving them a soul charge like card, effects that can be used vs any deck but with bonuses when a light monster is on field/gy. Basically each go +1 or 2 in such scenarios. Or give them build-a-boss support such as Vendread and Digital Bugs. Definitely then, can see this archetype being saved within 5-6 cards
Could you do a video on the Machina archetype? I can only think of maybe 4 that are viable to some degree, but the rest of the cards are complete trash.
Has there ever been monster could attack even if it wasn't on the field. For example a monster that could attack from the hand by revealing it or a monster that the moment its destroyed by battle it can launch a direct attack from the graveyard.
There is a Monster called "Mahaama the Fairy Dragon". It Special Summons itself if either you or your Opponent take Damage from an Attack during your Opponent's Turn only, then you can choose to either get as many LP as the Damage that activated it OR make your Opponent take that same amount of Damage instead. Basically the Idea is that you activate it in reponse to taking Damage yourself, then either "heal back" what you just lost, or reflect the same amount back at your Opponent.
I think it would be funny if the Allies of Justice got a retrain that actually gave them synergy and decent support. And given the creativity in naming the Yu-Gi-Oh! devs seem to have, they would probably give the retrain of the Allies of Justice something like Perfected Ally of Justice
A field spell that turned all non-DARK cards on the field, GY, and hand also into LIGHT type when an Ally of Justice monster is on the field would at least let them use their effects against most monsters. Reducing levels of all DARK machines in the hand by 1 would let more monsters be usable too. I feel like a few more support cards would be needed to make them relevant.

0:01 Idea for a pair of “Ally of Justice” support cards that are designed to make them FAR more relevant (hopefully):
_Ally of Justice - Targets Verified!_
Continuous Trap
_Can be activated from your hand or the turn it was set while your opponent controls a LIGHT monster. Unaffected by the effects of LIGHT monsters. All monsters in your opponent’s hand and GY and on their field are also LIGHT-attribute. Each time your opponent Summons, Declares and attack with, or activates the effect of a LIGHT monster; Apply 1 of the following effects._
_⚪️Add 1 card that mentions “Ally of Justice” in its name or text to your hand (from your Deck or GY.)_
_⚪️Normal Summon/Set or Special Summon 1 monster that mentions “Ally of Justice” in its name or text from your hand._
_⚪️Gain LP equal to that LIGHT monster’s total ATK/DEF._
_Ally of Justice - Mass Production Facility_
Field Spell
_Unaffected by the effects of LIGHT monsters. Synchro or Tribute Summoned “Ally of Justice” monsters you summon using other “Ally of Justice” monsters as Tributes and/or Materials gain the effects of those Tributes/Materials._
THERE, the Trap makes sure their LIGHT-focused effects are always relevant, while also letting you react to any of said monsters actions, while the field spell lets you summon out Ally monsters en masse AND lets you stack their effects if your Tribute/Synchro summon them using other Ally monsters as Tribute/Material. Hopefully this would make them SOMEWHAT adequate.
creates the most broken spell card in existence -> HOPES it would make the archetype SOMEWHAT relevant
@
Well it STILL revolves around the otherwise lousy “Ally of Justice” archetype, so I’d say it balances itself out in a manner of speaking.

MTG?
“They can’t even beat worms” is crazy
Considering they made Genex from terrible to passable before Baronne’s ban, I think they can do something cool with AoJ
I would agree, but considering that they took AoJ's boss monsters, taped them together and made them an new boss monster for Genex I'm not sure what's left for AoJ.
@@genesisera8364Maybe a new archetype finds the remains of the AoJ and enhances them
Oh to be a Machine Type Archetype that doesn't pretend to be dragons.
New Ally of Justice supports, lets fucking go!
only that synchro ally of justice is good but the moment starving vemon dragon, new yubel supports, destiny heroes, and like dark fusions became a thing the poor synchro got outclassed lol
...ok, i didn't know there were enough cards for that to be an archtype. Catastor is the only one i know by name and i always assumed there were only like 2 more.
The idea of a deck designed to target one specific type of card sounds terrifying until you realize players can be prepared ahead of time for it.
This deck could of work is all the cards had the ability to change what element there effect targets.
FINALLY! An Archetype that is a true failure in every sense of the Word and not a case of "It wasn't Minimum Tier 1, so it sucks"
As Ally of Justice can't Even do the one thing it was designed to: Be an ANTI-LIGHT Deck (and debatably also a counter to Cards that want to be Face-Down First)
I once saw a replay where someone used Decisive Armor's third effect against a Lightsworn deck and did 10,000+ damage for an OTK, it was pretty funny.
strange, i thought you made this video back in the 2010s i guess i misremembered.
I thought the same too....
And to think these buggers got not just one but two animations in Master Duel before D/D/D got a single one.
He's not beating the Legacy of the Worthless ripoff allegations either
I don’t know if I wouldn’t say there was no reason, since he shows why the deck has gotten no legacy support and why it would be pointless in the first place, since every card does its job terribly and there are others that do the same thing, but better. At least with the other duel terminal decks, there was some cohesion support was able to build on, but not really the AoJ.
Then again, maybe he just wants to cover all the duel terminal archetypes.
12:25 LOOOORE
Since these cards are DARK, Batman would retrain them by reclaiming revenge on everyone who believes in LIGHT. 😅
If this doesn't have Ally of Justice Spellcaster we riot.
0:25 ok, we are good. For now.
Idea for an “Ally of Justice” boss monster that amplifies the other Allies:
_Ally of Justice Lightfall_ (DARK)
Level 8
Machine/Synchro/Tuner/Effect
_1+ Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters_
_You can also Synchro Summon this card from your GY, using “Ally of Justice” monsters you control as Materials. If an “Ally of Justice” monster you control attacks a defense position LIGHT monster, inflict piercing battle damage._
ATK/3000 DEF/2500
Last time i was this early to something the dinosaurs still stomped this earth
I loved using these in a mixed light deck for chaos. I have no idea why, but it was just fun back in the day.
The later support didn’t quite address the problems either.
cannot wait for Ally of Justice support
Can you do a summary of the branded/ fallen of albaz
I have loved the Albaz group of cards ever since my friend got a structure deck and walled my rag tag deck I made by mixing Kaiba’s and Yugi’s deck from the pharaoh box and this was the first time I was walled by something and now I have the same structure deck and many albaz decks in master duel
It should be forgotten about and left in the past
Also I hate these stupid memes of archetype getting support because it-s talked about in an video.
Like it or not, Catastor was an iconic generic card played my many to great effect.
Me: aha I have locked you out of special summoning light monsters! You lose BEWD player
Them: anyways special fenrir
Worms being more playable than allies is just straight up sad
Ah yes, their one job being suppose to stop light monsters and yet, lore related to beat worms ah deck
Hello, DuelLogs, I hope you are having a nice day. Can you make more Duel Links videos? I really like them. Thanks. :)
Just as a starter idea for support: Simple, but should be enough to get the job done without being OP due to certain requirements.
Ally of Justice Supreme Judge
Rank 4
Dark/Machine/Xyz/Effect
2000/1800
2+ DARK machine monsters
All monsters your opponent owns are treated as LIGHT monsters. Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Ally of Justice" monster from your deck.
Ally of Justice Absolute Jailer
Level 10
Dark/Machine/Fusion/Effect
3000/2500
2 level 5 or higher "Ally of Justice" monsters
You can Fusion Summon this card by sending fusion materials with the same name from your hand/field to the GY. LIGHT monsters your opponent owns have their effects negated.
Ally of Justice Perfect Obliteration
Level 8
Dark/Synchro/Machine/Effect
2500/2100
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters.
This card may attack a number of times equal to the number of "Ally of Justice" monsters you control during each battle phase. If this card battles a LIGHT monster; banish that monster face-down, and if you do, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
Ally of Justice Catastor was a great generic!
In Europe, Machina Mayhem was meta, you could buy 3 and win tournaments, I know BECAUSE It was my first tournament deck and I won using it
AOJs do have one anime exclusive monster called Ally of Justice Tractor. Used by one of Placido's Duelbots.
Imagine if garadholg gained 300 attack instead, this game would be LITERALLY unplayable.
Catastor is one of my favorite cards to play in Edison format. It’s basically a better Sasuke Samurai.
Start a series about the duel terminal lore
I would love to see something on Rank Up spells, they seemed to have potential but are basically locked to 2-3 archetypes
I tried to make AOJ/HERO work so bad. Lmao. It was a horrible time. 🤣🤣😭😭😭💀💀
Another fantastic episode of "This archetype sucks expect for these one or two cards that are actually really good".
If this archetype were to be fixed with 1 card, it would need to be a link-1 that has the summoning effect like Junk Speeder but with a Synchro or AoJ lock on it, and also changes Attributes of monsters on field
Another way to save this with multiple cards instead is giving them a soul charge like card, effects that can be used vs any deck but with bonuses when a light monster is on field/gy. Basically each go +1 or 2 in such scenarios. Or give them build-a-boss support such as Vendread and Digital Bugs. Definitely then, can see this archetype being saved within 5-6 cards
Failed huh? Say that to my almost acceptable against shaddolls ten years ago deck!
Top 10 most expensive World Champion decks
I'll love to see how much they throw
I'm surprised it took this long for this Archtype to appear
Basically the Idea is that you activate it in reponse to taking Damage yourself, then either "heal back" what you just lost, or reflect the same amount back at your Opponent.
i once summoned Quarantine against a blue-eyes player back in 2017 and negated his Chaos Form. never saw someone scoop as fast before
They’re part of the greatest yugioh lore though.
@@alexanderrobins7497 Especially if they include a small handful of archetype specific searchers. If they want do a lore thing, they could do a whole story about how this retrain came about via actual harmonization.
could've sworn you already did ally of justice, and just will move on to battlewasp.
Did Rata invade the channel, or did ally of justice Loreman make a cameo
I would like to request a failed cards for the ANCIENT GEARS
wich will be pretty interesting since the amount of fail cards they have is abismal, for so long konami didn't knew how property make this archetype playable
so if you got no other archetypes to check out, have this in mind!
I always knew this archetype would one day end up in the failed archetype video.
Genex got a broken Link and became a silly spam deck. But dunno how to fix this one unless a Malefic Territory kind of fix happens.
See what they should have done is either instead of just anti-LIGHT, have'em be against non-DARK or a support engine for other DT archetype.
I use ally of justice catastor on my deck sure is bad but if played it right it can be helpful it’s ability you can destroy non dark elemental
Can you do Watt archetype next?
I hope Ally of Justice doesn't get any support and keep it as a bad archetype. Since after the Genex first appeared in lore AoJ started using them more as troopers.
Master Duel even references it by making the second AoJ solo gate Genex Terminal World 1/Terminal Revenge themed
Love your videos. One question tho. Why is a spider the mascot of the channel? Just curious :3
Thank goodness amazons dodged a bullet
How about a top (video) about garbage decks that became insane after getting good support next?
I guess you can say this archetype wasn't done 😂 justice.
Everyone ready for the Light 1 that turns every monster in light with search and the Poplar that banishes every light monster in the field, burning 2k for each?
I like how This went from "Hey THESE Guys Suck!" to Check out these Cards from Other Disappointing Archetypes
NEVER Forget Machineers chose to be Mid
Do Battlin Boxer next!
Pre GX fusions can apply?
Machina MENTION HELL YEAH.
Also, BOOO EARTH MACHINE! You keep my Machinas out of their, pure Machina can basically make the same board with less work.
Did Rata do something like this years ago?
Koaki meiru video please sir 🙏🏼
I wish all these failed archetypes get an archive skill in DL.

Finally, we're back to actual failed archetypes. Also tired it on MD, and I didn't like it
