I recently found out about this career field, and upon further research, I found your videos. As an independent worker and massive introvert, I feel like this would be a great field for me! I went into sonography because I wanted to be more hands on with patient care. I knew nursing wasn't for me and I've always found imaging fascinating. There are many differences between ultrasound, MRI, CT and Xray. After much research and job shadowing I chose ultrasound. I love it.

@@zipporahwilliams2114 Hello. So, there is so much to say about ultrasound. More than I can put in a short response. It's a great field and very rewarding. It has its pros and cons though. Reaching out to someone in the field is a great idea because the general public really has NO IDEA what we really do. Everyone thinks we just take pictures and look at babies all day which is so far from the truth. If you're really interested, let me know. .i want to learn coding so bad but My social skills aren’t amazing. I’m a huge introvert and usually home alone or with family. I don’t have many friends and don’t really involve myself in any group activities. I was an over the road truck driver the past 2 years as well - so there’s even more isolation. Idk if my social awkwardness is going to be an issue. It makes me nervous just thinking abt it

I honestly believe coding is one of the best medical jobs for introverts. I was a CNA and there was constant interaction with everyone in the building. The only people that were rarely ever seen were the office workers( billing/coding, administration). That's what drew me to this field because Im also an introvert and prefer to work alone. I could work with people if needed but I work better on my own. Best of luck 😊

Hi, I’m thinking of becoming a medical coder. Questions1:Do I need to take a medical billing course as well? We’ll that help my prospects in finding a job better, understanding better the job of a coder, or earn me more money?
Question2: If I have 20 years of inpatient hospital Pharmacy technician experience will that help me in any way to get a better salary from the start as a medical coder rather than the minimum 28k in the beginning.

I am researching if I want to enter into medical billing and coding. I recently started a career as an insurance claims adjuster and am not yet convinced it is for me 😬 For that second more complex case that you mentioned; about how long (from start to finish) would you estimate it would take you to code that one? Also do they have a space online to look up the codes? I am NOT a paper book kind of girl which is why I am struggling with “adjusting” I find it much more efficient & effective & logical to be able to simply open that ebook type in a key word and be taken directly to the information I need rather than flipping through hundreds of pages and skimming thousands of words to find the same info. Could just be me though haha! Anyway I appreciate any information you could provide as I find your videos VERY helpful!

Being able to use an ebook to type in a key word to get straight to the info would save much time for sure. I'd prefer that as well.
