Amtrak's Southwest Chief #4 With MetroLink Coaches At Galesburg Illinois

I was on the Galesburg Train Station platform when this Amtrak train arrived (Chief?). I was at the extreme end of the platform and when the power passed me there were a number of "MetroLink" cars trailing. The reason there is such a crowd on the platform as this was recorded during Galesburg Railroad days. The train was stopped for at least five minutes before it tooted, and throttled up and pulled out.

I'll be honest, I would not have noticed then but a teen pointed it out to me! I'm still not sure why they were attached to the Amtrak. I heard lots of talk but no real facts. Thank-You very much for viewing and commenting! (and I was standing right next to the Metrolink cars! Geesh!)
