- When the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe railroads joined in 1995, the Santa Fe line had need of an upgrade connection to the BN rail network, including the yard in Galesburg, IL. The Cameron Connector was built so that any traffic in any direction on the former BN Ottumwa subdivision or SF Chillicothe subdivision could connect to the other and go in either direction.
On March 20, 2022, Amtrak 3 Southwest Chief had just made it's station stop in Galesburg, IL and we catch up with the action just as it is about to leave the BNSF Ottumwa subdivision and follow it as it heads up the Cameron Connector and then head west on BNSF Chillicothe subdivision bound for Kansas City, Albuquerque and LA.

Very glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by. Check out my other stuff ;-)
Damn.. this video should have 100K views. This is one brilliant coverage of the connector in 4K no less. Beautifully framed and panned the entire way!
Thank you! Send it to all of your friends ;) In all seriousness, we appreciate your kind words.
Excellent video. I hope to ride the Chief from Ft. Madison to Chicago and back in the next year or so. Videos like this help to get a better understanding of the route.
What a view this is! Great video.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.

nice job. i've wondered why no one did drone footage of cameron.
Thank you! I would have done it sooner but I don't live in the area.
The roads in that area are pretty rough.
Great combination of visual and sound. Very unique. Also, I liked that you chose amtrak over a coal load. Nice technique.
Thank you.
This is really spectacular!

Fantastic photography!
Been to that railroad crossing many a time. I'm also glad you got the windmill in the shot.
The windmill really ties the scene together doesn't it?
Beautiful video!
Thank you!
