  • Galesburg, Illinois is one of the midwest's busiest railroad towns, with lines radiating out in seven directions. In this program, you'll pay a visit to this important rail hub, and sample the action on each of the lines, as well as the depot area downtown and the junction at Cameron.
    BNSF Railway runs a tremendous amount of trains through here on both the old Santa Fe and Burlington lines. Galesburg is also a busy Amtrak location, and you'll see all of the Amtrak trains that serve it. If you like modern railroading, then this is the program for you!
    Highlights include:
    Sample the action on all 7 lines coming into Galesburg
    See Amtrak and freights in the downtown depot area
    Get an overview of the yard
    See how the Burlington and the Santa Fe are now connected at Cameron

    Say Les... seeing as only the east side of Monmouth was featured on the segment regarding the former Burlington via to the west of Cameron, I was wondering: What are your thoughts on Monmouth in general?
    Little fun fact from me: My dad was born and raised in that town. :)

    • @blairterry9435
      @blairterry9435 Месяц назад

      No way! Your dad was raised in Galesburg wow! I bet he saw the Burlington’s steam program with 4960 and the two operating 4-8-4 northerns that were still running at the time. I can’t believe we have an operating CB&Q steam locomotive in the present day and kind of wish one of the Hudsons would be restored for mainline excursion service. One out of all the surviving steamers in the US there isn’t one standard gauge 4-6-4 Hudson in operation… well except for CP 2816. Second the Hudsons are pretty well known passenger locomotives and could pull heavy passenger trains.
