For everyone confused about the ending: She relapsed (overdosed.) it’s actually shown metaphorically through the dance, the part where the people were throwing her up and down is actually just the paramedics resuscitating her.
@@soanm8654 Probably not... but considering she's been clean ah bit, it could he possible not to mention combining it with her emotional state! (+One line is all we saw her take!)

Jules felt trapped. Imagine having a friend who's mental health depends on you. Sure, she relapsed, but Jules had all the right to want to get the hell away from that. It's an extremely toxic friendship to be in, especially if the other party also has romantic feelings for you.
Dont worry she aint dead. She relapsed and that musical sequence is a representation of her death wish. Sad but true, Without Jules she became suicidal.
Rue is bipolar, she always had and will have suicidal thoughts. Jules isn't the reason, she was just the other drugs, made her not to think about the bad stuff while basically destroying her. She had to let her go
I don’t think it’s because of Jules I think this is her realizing she’s battling with herself she gave up Jules her addiction with another. She finally realizes she has to take care of herself for her family and just wanted one last time
I’ve never stood up and clapped after a show ended. I’ve never even done drugs but this show was just incredible. She’s incredible. I got so attached to her and felt that real disappointment when she relapsed. Made me want to cry. But I knew it would happen. I’ve struggled with depression my whole life and know that feeling of someone giving you that “complete happiness” type of high. Just being around them. And when it’s gone it’s gone. there’ll never be another.
A popular theory is that rue overdoses again. She’s so close to dying. that’s why her mom and sister doesn’t respond and therefore her dad is the only one hugging her and gives her the kiss of life. The people throwing her up and down are actually do cpr and first aid. Finally she lets put a breath. This is the best work Zendaya has ever done she literally has me thinking she a drug addiction this is amazing work! Everyone in this cast did absolutely amazing!! She deserves to win the emmy!
The lyrics for the first line Zendaya sings in Labrinths original version are 'No food in the kitchen', they changed it to 'Too much in my system' for this version. Guessing she ODd again?
I think “Romeo and Juliet” was the biggest piece of symbolism. first of all, their names are based off of theres, for Halloween they dressed as R&J, and quoted them, and now Jules left which many symbolism the tragic ending in R&J

This is such an insanely sad ending. She spent the whole show trying to be clean and quit, and she does. She’s clean for quite a few episodes. Then Jules leaves and she doesn’t know what to do, so turns back. Probably becoming addicted again.
She came home and relapsed I think what's happening in this scene everything is coming down in her and reality is sinking it and she can't take it because Jules left and her dead is dad so she probably relapsed because the drugs are the only in her life that makes sense to her so she's using it like a comfort and the people in the red robes are her thoughts and doubts that's just my take on it I could be wrong but I loved this ending even though she relapsed I thought this ending was so original and had a powerful message
I think what just died, because when Jules leaves we see that they take drugs again and that when she goes to her mother and sister he does not catch her while her dead father catches her then when there is the people in red who throws it to the sky it's like she's going to heaven
beautiful choreography. one of the most captivating endings I've ever seen for a tv series. And i can't believe that a lot of these actors in the show, this is their debut (first time on screen/big break). Like that just goes to show that you don't need some big-time celebrity to make a series great
I used to say it was not an OD but a few things changed my mind watching this for the 100th time; she stops breathing when she falls out. She sees her dad/Her sister and mother don't see her. She climbs ontop of a pile bodies. I'm assuming, representing the drug epidemic.
That's my theory: Rue isn't dead. I think last scenes was flashback from her earlier relapse. Why? Oh, i'll tell you. A scene before we see Rue, talking a hoodie from her dad's bed after doctors took out his dead body, and she goes to her room. Then we see Rue wearing a hoodie and talking drugs - i believe she was wearing make up from prom because Rue was remembering that time she relapsed. It was caused by trauma of losing someone she loved, as she lose Jules that evening. And why it is in past? In that dance sequence we see her family, not Jules - at first we believe it is presents time, but then we would see Jules in her drug vision... And the birds sound at credits - She described that sound earlier in last episode, she clearly end up in hospital after relapse. Also I believe She could only interact with her dad because She was so close to death, but that forehead kiss was a 'goodbye' from her dad, a sign it's too early for Rue to reconnect with her dad. So, yeah, i think it was her memory she walk through again but without talking drugs... And i see a lot people not liking Jules, but I want to say something in that case. I remember during the show a lot of people told Jules that it was her apperiance that helped Rue to stay sober and happier. It was a great burden for Jules. She didn't want to be responsible for Rue's happiness and life but yet - She became a lifesaver for Rue. You blame her for acting bad, having affair with Anna, maybe falling in love with her as they got along. Jules couldn't tell Rue she doesn't love her anymore or even she didn't love her all the time! Because she knew what could happen with Rue after her feeling got hurt. She tried to change her, dress her up, do make up and that scene when She asked her about kiss kiss. She wanted to forced herself to love Rue, but She couldn't. She treated her like a friend, that's for sure, but for Jules it wasn't love at any point. That sad but Jules couldn't take such a responsibility that's way her alcoholic problem shown up (and of course Nate was the reason as well) There's not good characters or bad in this show, every one has their demons that pushed them to do thing that hurts them or other.
Yeah no that’s bullshit. If you paid attention to her overdose scene at the beginning of the show, she overdosed in the daytime in a yellow outfit. Secondly, Jules clearly was also in love with Rue what are you even talking about? She was going to run away WITH Rue because she loved her so much and you don’t do that if you don’t love someone. Jules wasn’t trying to change anything about Rue. I’m seriously doubting you even watched the show or paid attention to a minute of it. Dressing up your friend is normal, especially for a special event like the dance. It’s just something friends do. Rue even SPECIFICALLY ASKED Jules if she wished Rue was different and you could tell in her eyes she truly wouldn’t have had Rue any other way. Thirdly, Jules isn’t an alcoholic. She got wasted when she was going through a tough time and she’s young. A shit ton of young kids experiment and drink at that age. Pay better attention next time.
RC I don’t doubt Jules loves Rue but I don’t think she’s in love . Don’t forget , when Rue first tried kissing Jules, she rejected her advances. Then when they first hooked up, it was right after Jules found out Nate was cat fishing her and he pretty much blackmailed her. I feel like with the horrible circumstances , Jules subconsciously pushed herself to Rue for comfort since she already knew Rue had feelings for her. On top of Nate blackmailing her, it seems as if Jules felt guilty for leading Rue on as well but couldn’t handle hurting her with the truth either, which is why she starts distancing herself emotionally as well .
@@rc4083 well, that's the reason I started my comment with "MY theory" :D it's totally ok if you don't agree with me, but please don't assume I don't pay attention or even didn't watch the show...
Maybe the dance sequence could be read like this - The people at the start who dance with her are trying to help her; bring her back to “life” as in get clean - but then when she climbs the people they symbol the inevitable stair way to her down fall and hence those people trying to help her, lead her to her fait - her falling off the tower of people, maybe showing she relied to much on others; Jules in being the sole catalyst to motivate her to be clean, when it’s her own journey.
i think she relapsed and overdosed because her tolerance is so low, and the part where the people are throwing her back and forth is symbolic of her seizing or something. and then shes climbing up a mountain is symbolic of her almost “””overcoming””” her addiction by being clean but then falling back into it
I never saw a series as good as euphoria, nor did I see such a good ending. I cried too much thinking that rue died, I still think they could have saved her :(
I read people say you hear birds chirping at the end and she says at the start that she likes to pretend the hospital monitors are birds chirping. So it’s implied she overdosed and is back in hospital 🥺
Rue is NOT dead she’s the main character for fucks sake and I don’t think she relapsed bc she didn’t have drugs at home to begin with and fez was not at the trap so there is no place for her to get drugs. She’s simply imagining life without Jules and all the possible outcomes. Think about it. The dancers are throwing her around, up and down which is how Jules treated her and how she felt every time she was around her. Her climbing amongst the bodies symbolizes her trying to reach her dreams despite the dead ends and cut relationships. She is trying to think about how she is going to face school after winter break without Jules. She may relapse, sing, find a hobby, a new friend/fuckmate but right at the end of the season she did not

I love this but something I don't understand about Rue was that, yes Jules left and her dad died, but idk why she didn't lean on her mom and sister for support, drugs isn't the only thing she has left. But at the same time she might feel like she ruined or isn't good enough for them bc of drugs and she doesn't want them to worry about her based off of the special episode.

I hope your doing better now
Wooaw....womder how difficult it must be for you...hope you are doing better now
I love this but something I don't understand about Rue was that, yes Jules left and her dad died, but idk why she didn't lean on her mom and sister for support, drugs isn't the only thing she has left. But at the same time she might feel like she ruined or isn't good enough for them bc of drugs and she doesn't want them to worry about her based off of the special episode.
Dead
Overdose ou Morte??
Eis a questão
I’m so sad Zendaya doesn’t sing the falsetto part in the studio version
All That Jazz (1979) inspired this scene.
Labrinth musical genius
What's the song
