I have a 2024 Lyriq Sport 3. It's green with the upgraded Oxford Aniline Leather interior. I love it. I currently own three Caddy's. Besides the LYRIQ, I have a, 2019 CT6-V and a 2006 XLR-V. My parents only drove Cadillacs when I was a kid so I have a real soft spot for the Marque. Enjoyed the episode. Keep up the great job. Cheers!!!

@@YouFoundNick Cadillac thinks the Lyriq replaces the XT-5 in their lineup, not the much smaller XT-4. The new Lyriq V has 615 HP, but also weighs 6000 lbs. Like most EVs it'll be fast in a straight line, but suffer in vehicle dynamics due to the excess weight. Strangely, it has Brembo brakes only on the front and doesn't use the meteorlogical shocks like on other Cadillac Vs. At a base price of $80k the Lyriq V won't set the world on fire with its sales numbers. Oh, and Cadillac says they have imbued this model with fake engine sounds. Oh boy!

Would never consider an all-electric vehicle--a hybrid, yes, but electric no. Cadillac is chasing a small market just because of EV mandates, which are now going away. Like I said, insanity...
I just purchased an XT-5 and did not consider the Lyriq an alternative. At all. Cadillac needs to wake up and offer both an EV or ICE off the same architecture, like BMW is doing already.
The problem with BMW's approach of offering both ICE and EV models off the same architecture is that both products end up being roughly mediocre. The ICE models are not all that good, and the EV models are in the same ball park . What I would do if I were Cadillac is to continue offering and updating the ICE models while introducing the EVs. - Alex

What I'm pretty sure of is that moving to an all-EV product lineup is a "going out of business" approach for Cadillac. The buying public isn't convinced EVs are the answer for their transportation needs.
@@rlsedition If Cadillac can produce objectively good vehicles, but move a smaller volume, I think GM will still consider that a win. I see no reason why Cadillac should be obligated to make more ICE vehicles, especially if the next generation XT5 and XT6 can functionally be Buicks.

I have had 3 Cadillacs in a row. I currently have an XT4, My next car, I want a Cadillac Hybrid suv. Why don’t they make one. GM forgets that many owners live in condos or Apts. May buy another brand to get a hybrid, and nit an EV Hybrid. They are making a big mistake.

Here’s my speculation/wish (based on nothing). The “family” of Bolt EV products GM mentioned will spawn a Cadillac EV priced closer to the XT4. Start in the low-mid $40Ks, cheaper LFP pack (shared with new Bolt EV), built at Fairfax alongside the new Bolt EVs, etc.
The XT-4, beyond that silly alphanumeric name, lacks character (in terms of its design). I'm not saying they should do away with it or that it's unattractive but it's not visually distinctive either.
GM barely advertised it. Nothing made it different from the Envision other than the better materials. They could've put 300 HP in it. They made it uglier too

I have 2019 Equinox 2.0T which requires PREMIUM ⛽, HATE the Premium price in 🇨🇦. $50.00 for half tank😤 I will save so much 💰 in an EV. The problem is all the EV's are lower like Cars. Lyric/Equinox & Blazer EV are lower than my Equinox. I want bigger not smaller. Vistiq is exactly what I want in height and interior center console except the price will probably 100k. Pricing for EV is crazy 🇨🇦 your better to get Cadillac as it's only few thousand more than Equinox & Blazer EV. Gone are the days when Equinox ice was 25-30k cheaper than Cadillac. Now is all similar pricing. Oh, my reservation for Silverado RST is still not here in 🇨🇦 3 years ago🤦🏻♀️
Tesla’s big advantage is the charging infrastructure, energy storage technology and the full self-drive system development. Tesla could discontinue the cars and its technology assets would still make it a successful company. I really wish GM would let Cadillac have 5 or 6 EVs and 5 or 6 ICE models. Cadillacs customers base doesn’t want to be forced in to an EV. I will say Cadillac’s EVs are beautiful and they make a great vehicle.
Why not a hybrid? Trump says let people buy what they want. Demand develops the market, not the government. The Lyric is gorgeous but Cadillac needs to go more with hybrids and gas powered engines.
Who is buying these Cadillac EV's? Beautiful cars that no one wants and now in the Trump era makes matters worse. Put the 3.6 into the Lyriq and watch it sell.
I'm buying. Incentive or not, the lyriq is amazing! I'm going from an xt6 to an EV and the cost to operate makes it a no brainer. I think once you get in one, experience the drive and see how much it costs to charge with the added realization that range means nothing 98% of the time, it's an easy sell.

The question is why didn’t Chevrolet give a whole new generation for the Malibu? It was selling really well.
