  • Hollis Easter joined by Katie McNally, Iain MacHarg, Bob Mills, and Bruce Childress at the Pipers' Gathering 2013 in Burlington, VT. This is an old Irish clan march, and it's one of my favorite tunes to play with friends. Mills is playing his new Nordic mandola, which is a five-course mandola with the bass string theorbed out to C. It was a pleasure to share the stage with it! (And any day playing tunes with Mills is a good day in my book).
    left to right, we are:
    Bruce Childress, DADGAD guitar
    Hollis Easter: Scottish smallpipes
    Katie McNally: fiddle
    Iain MacHarg: Scottish smallpipes
    Bob Mills: Nordic mandola
The Pipers' Gathering is a festival and school for players of bellowspipes / bellows blown bagpipes, and Hollis was an instructor for Scottish smallpipes and border pipes. This video is from the Sunday evening instructor concert.

It is one of the most beautiful melody on small pipes & accompanying instruments.
