I love the historic structure of the house. But for elderly, there should be an elevator for going up and down the stairs and wide enough to accommodate wheel chairs. It must have the accessible ramps too. Otherwise all rooms for elders should be on the first floor. The second level could be use be for airbnb only to accommodate those elders ages 50 to 60 who have no problems with their mobility. And not at all for young ones since elders needs more quite solemn place to live. However, the concept of senior living in that house needs a lot of safety guidelines to follow, and not just purely accommodation.
Was called the doll house because it's owned by samuel butcher , the man behind the precious moments dolls. He also owned the sampaguita gardens in Aklan, but has since been abandoned.
Thank you, I read a bit on Mr B now & he has had an interesting life. I wonder if he still resides in Phil, wiki seemed to indicate so. I wonder if this was their private home in Phil, (he had 7 children). It said they also lived a lot in Aklan Sampaguita resort you mention, per wiki. Or if this house was part of the Bible school he founded in Phil, or work related in other ways, wiki mentioned some doll production in Phil. Maybe that’s why Doll House moniker.
Thanks for this. I haven't heard much about elderly care facilities in the Philippines so this is good to hear with my considering permanently retiring to the Philippines and not have to make special plans to move back to America when my time for elderly care is needed.
This is an absolutely AMAZING IDEA ❤❤… those nurses are going to bank $$$ absolutely genius idea ! I wish them great success and now I’m sold on finally visiting. Thank you for this great video
I’m surprised they have this, but it makes sense as the generation nowadays do work outside of the home and can’t always take care of their parents. Hopefully the elderly can understand that.
Feeling nostalgic here. That used to be Jonathan & David Co of the Phils. Precious Moments Mansion. Surprised to see the place repurposed now. Probably new owners. Last time I heard it was turned over to Iloilo Baptist Church - Jaro. I used to work in the product research & development dept. Our office 170 mtrs down the road from the mansion. Sad to see the place where our office & workshop was coz it's in ruins now. Some good things never lasts.
@Sam C. “Nothing gold can stay…” Robert Frost. It sounds like the Sam Butcher & Co. business was good for his business & for Philippine interests/employees, etc… Though most of it seems gone now, maybe good remains like your good memories, & Mr Sam B still resides in the Phil. perhaps. I truly am very excited for this whole concept. Rather it’s an assisted living facility or it will be both “ even better “ how beautiful that the older generation can have the company of others staying at the facility. It will definitely need to be finished but I commend these nurses for this need . I truly pray 🙏🏽 and hope it goes well for them.
What a fantastic place and great idea for flexible living with care options. The house is gorgeous - bet it looked amazing when first furnished. Love this idea and wish them every success for the future. Xxx
I suggest they put in an elevator, or it's not designed for a senior care home. It should be a one-storey building with no excessive levels or they can only remain at the first level.. I can't imagine the 80-90-year-old going up and down the winding staircase, even if caregivers assisted him. It is not safe when events such as fire and earthquake occur.
I love the concept of assisted living., but the way they have the building laid out means very little privacy for the occupants. Even elderly people want some privacy sometimes. They seem to be just putting in beds wherever they will fit. The building itself is beautiful,
😮 I have been passing by that house all my life and intrigue whats inside. We also fear walking in front of it during the night because i haven't seen people inside and it looks like a hunted house 😂. Its good that they have opened it to public. I know its in sta.cruz arevalo, near that area was a famous soup#5. On that same entire street, there were lots of appartments you can find as well. I live just 200m away from that mansion.
The elderly shouldn’t have to put up with travellers kids or young ppl 😢I dint know it looks great but will you take on dementia elderly or is it mainly for elderly in good health ?
Hi, Ann here. Director of the Villa. The main floor is the only area designed for the elderly. The second and attics are for transients as we mentioned it’s a HOMETEL & everyone is welcome. The Seniors Club is just one of the programs where we give lots if privileges for the elderly, like taking care of them when needed through membership. The whole Mansion is welcoming every guest we could accommodate!❤
So it's $500 a month to live there and it's 950 pesos a day for three meals plus laundry? This will only work if they put elevators in. Elderly cannot do stairs on a daily basis multiple times per day
It really doesn’t look suitable for the frail and elderly. Didn’t see any elevators or hand rails.there’s no way I could cope with all of those stairs. Even the pool doesn’t have any facilities to get some old people in or out of it. The reason most elderly go into a care home is because they can no longer cope at home under normal conditions. It would make a nice hotel or hostel though. Thanks for showing it to us.
Still on process, I know the lady who does the tour of that, pool were still working on, plus she's the owner of I step up juku tutorial and academy. Japanese approach am sure when u plan to visit the they will sort it out.,
This is not design for elderly, no elevator, this is a hotel that's it. Senior citizen is very Frail, needs assistance and doctor's on site. Location, should be closer to hospital!!!
this does not look suitable for the elderly, it does have nice natural light and wide spaces, HOWEVER, since there is an upper floor, there are no elevators, no ramp for the wheelchair or gurney use, the bathroom seem unsafe because there are not a lot bars for them to hold on to should they enter nor do I see a commode in a room and I don’t see a lot of medical staff…this suits more like a hotel or an inn than a facility for the elderly

For elders ? RB&B ? Confusing. No medical staff. Not set up for elders. First floor not so bad looking, upper floors, no thanks except balconies. This place won't work
I watched just once so far, but didn’t seem as if the rooms all had locks or doors. Seems it was a free flowing floor plan, which fits with private residence origin. But that raised concerns in me for elderly. Not necessarily crime situations, though that is unfortunately very possible, but even accidentally when younger folks are hurrying around there could be accidents. Actually the younger could be harmed, it is so easy to get tripped by a cane or walker when one is hurrying in an unfamiliar place. But for fit, active elders it could be fine. Like a higher end pension, as M said. Maybe nice for seniors on their own, coz could be easier to chat & be friendly than in standard hotels. Oh! Just thought maybe it could work for respite for caregivers of elderly family. Or nonelderly handicapped family ie quadriplegia etc. Nope, not enough appropriate staff if I heard correctly….

@Mary Ann. Than you for replying, Miss Mary Ann. It is a fabulous property. So great when places with more history are preserved in some manner, esp interesting architecture. i dreamed of a place like this with rooms having secret entrances and portals to other worlds hehe. its a cool building though
Since it’s a elderly centered villa will it be most beneficial to add an elevator? I didn’t see it on this video I prob missed it

House of Sam and Bill, my friends and met when I worked at the Iloilo Casa plaza Hotel
That's a very nice house.
Too many stairs for the elderly. But a very nice mansion over all. I will be booking a room there in about 30 years. Thanks for showing it to me.
The good thing is the first floor has some rooms :)
i wonder how. some old people who are weak especially in the knees can climb up that steep stairs. they'd struggle to reach the top or climb down.
My worry is security fir the elderly with transients coming through but it’s beautiful
Does it have an elevator ?? I hope so
It is like a transient house not a care facilities .Unless they are independent but need a littleebit of help.
Yes definitely for more independent maybe if you bring your parents for longer term and there isn't enough room in your home for them comfortably
THAT POOL LOOKED NASTY AS FLUCK ! 😂 🤣 😂
Nice place 👍👍👍
I somehow Immediately see the stairs directly in front of the front door, I think that's not a good Feng Shui 😬
staircase and other parts of the house are not suitable for elderly senior. Specially with senior with disability
Is that in Iloilo?
If this would be my house. Attics are my favorite place. It could be for gaming like a mancave haha. 🤣
Stairs for elderly? What! They should have one level With bigger square footage.

Lol lol 😆 the caption on the title page….
Bianca, what is your nationality aside from being canadian.
shes half filipina
I have to use a rollator walker with the help of my service dog. No way I'd get up the stairs inside lol
The hometel is beautiful but the beds look cheap. The elderly could not go up and down. Maybe the 2nd floors are for the younger one.

Okay for a hotel but
not a home for the aged..
In New Zealand our elderly get ripped off to the tune of $800 week for care.
Most likely anywhere in the world.
that ain't too bad i think. considering that includes everything from housing, food, care, etc?
I have seen a lot better aged care in the Philippines
This place cannot be for the elderlies... look at the stairs. They probably want all the oldies fall down on those and die early.
hi, maybe they just at ground floor, and enjoy the quiet place away from the crowd.
waste of money, I don't think people can sleep well with the stairs on their sides
The outside looks okay but the inside is dated.👎
