    Huge respect for being a competitor about the fuel saving stuff. That was a major buzzkill seeing cars at 40% throttle running 170 for 30 laps at a time. Of all races to do it the Daytona 500? Yall can’t do this anymore. Yall already race slow cars.

    “That was a 170MPH pace lap!” Spot on Denny! This package doesn’t allow drivers to make a move on their own, and the cars being planted to the track just takes so much skill out of it. Winning the Daytona 500 now is much more “right place right time” based than it is about being the best driver with the best car.

      That's why I'm so in awe of Richard Petty's 7 Daytona 500 wins...because there's no way a driver now can be the best at Daytona 7 times...it's a crapshoot...and I bet if they took the exact same cars and raced the 500 5 times we'd see 5 different winners whereas on a 1.5 oval we'd see a stronger possibility for the same guy to win it multiple times.

    I’m not a Denny Hamlin fan….im a chase Eliott fan. Denny is 100% right I’ve seen so many comments how this was the best Daytona 500 and how Alex bowman and Byron murdered the field. Everyone forgets what Brad Keslowski did 6 laps into the race, everyone forgets we had a safer car 10 years ago with more power. 175mph barely to touching the gas “this was the best Daytona 500 we’ve had in a long time” then the excuse is “oh what because it wasn’t a wreck fest” you say that yet the top 2 cars partook in demolishing the field. In my opinion as a die hard Dale Jr can I whole heartedly believe people are so caught up in the HMS and Dale and so on, Dale didn’t drive for Rick, Jeff and him were friends but also rivals.”can’t write a script any better then this” obviously there not going to announce it’s all fake but on the other hand yes it’s a 500 but there acting like it was some miracle do it for Dale kinda thing.

I get safety and all that but Indy cars are not as safe and they around around Indy at 225 to 230 mph. Nascar doesn't want cars flying into the stands I get it but Indy cars can get air borne as well so why don't they care? • @racegrubb2152
      @racegrubb2152 8 месяцев назад

      @@acerosstine49maybe but not really at the same time lol. I can dream big lol. Indy cars run 230 mph around Indy and those cars are not as safe as Nascar. Nascar would be close to that speed 225 230 and have to let out the throttle some in the corner and handling would be more important and then instead of one large 2 wide and 3 wide pack you would have some separation and would actually be a race. You would have a bunch of smaller 5 to 8 car packs and 3 car packs. Instead of this lottery we have. I don't see the sanctioning body at Indy car saying we got to put spacers on these things because 230 is too fast or 225 is too fast. Nascar cars are safer than Indy cars but Nascar is like oh no they hit 200 in the draft time to slow them down so no body flips. Cars flip at the Indy 500 sometimes and yet Indy car doesn't panic. They put plates on in 87 when Allison hit the fence. With the plates we have seen multiple cars go up into the fence. Carl Edwards, Kyle Larson, Austin Dillion, and a few others. So it hasn't kept them out the fence. Crashes are more likely when the race is what it is now. They would be going a lot faster but it wouldn't be one big massive pack of idiots coming the the flag with 15 cars crashing at the checkered all the time. The supper speedway racing has gotten kind of ridiculous. They need to make a change to this I believe. It's not good racing. Most of the drivers out there hate this crap. Even Dale Earnhardt who was so good at Daytona and Talladega hated this type of racing. Shoot even if they just do like Denny said and take some drag out of these cars that would be a step in the right direction. Maybe less drag instead of the 510 they run at the superspeedways do 550 like someone up here told me. Just so we get some separation and more skill and see who the has the best cars and drivers for the 500.

    I’m surprised you didn’t pre plan to save in the first stint. I know the caution early changed things and meant yall could potentially make it to the first stage break.
    Have you watched the Indy 500 in the last 10 years? (I know you are busy that day) You always start saving on the first lap!
    I enjoyed seeing the strategy of fuel saving because it allows the story of the race to develop. Educated fans will know certain people will have a fuel advantage based on their position in the pack. Especially because tires are irrelevant.
    This also tells me you don’t use simulation in any way (at lease specifically for Daytona) to learn about potential strategies which is shocking. It’s probably free for you so why not use it, or at least talk to someone who can sim for you?

    Sad NASCAR wont meet with team owners, NASCAR has went downhill. A new Stock Car league needs to open and have Gen 6 style cars.

    175mph laps. Work slow down? They weren't even gaining on Dinger running all by his lonesome. Owners sending a message to "management"? NASCAR won't meet with them? Big name lawyer called in? Can somebody like PIF come in who owns a bunch of tracks or something? What is this "streaming" thing, anyway? Could the owners start their own new league with their own "real TV" contracts? Is anyone having a worse start to a season than Austin Dillon? Missed the Clash, wrecked in the Duels, Wrecked on Lap 6 of the 500, finished 37th. Keith Rodden has got to be on the hot seat. This car was fairly uncompetitive last season for the majority of the year. RC can't be OK with that, neither can the sponsors.
