Huge respect for being a competitor about the fuel saving stuff. That was a major buzzkill seeing cars at 40% throttle running 170 for 30 laps at a time. Of all races to do it the Daytona 500? Yall can’t do this anymore. Yall already race slow cars.
“That was a 170MPH pace lap!” Spot on Denny! This package doesn’t allow drivers to make a move on their own, and the cars being planted to the track just takes so much skill out of it. Winning the Daytona 500 now is much more “right place right time” based than it is about being the best driver with the best car.
It has been that way for a long time, not only with this package. Busch has always said that winning the Daytona 500 was more like winning a race lottery.
That's why I'm so in awe of Richard Petty's 7 Daytona 500 wins...because there's no way a driver now can be the best at Daytona 7 times...it's a crapshoot...and I bet if they took the exact same cars and raced the 500 5 times we'd see 5 different winners whereas on a 1.5 oval we'd see a stronger possibility for the same guy to win it multiple times.

But it was an excellent ride in the 11 car, visually. From Denny's rear view camera, after dark, a little shaky, I swear Joey Logano's car looked like a big yellow Superbird!! just had to imagine the big wing
Nascar could expand and add 2 charters for sale or awarded for 50 to 100M each and give a big % of that sale to the 38 teams. If Nascar is a sport then this is just expansion teams. And teams in the sport get some of that money.
We definitely need to find a way to get back to 43 car fields, feels cheap having 36 cars most weekends and everybody is locked in...I'd honestly been ok with all 42 cars getting to race, if 44 cars show up, then somebody goes home, if 42 or 43 show up let em all race!
I was at the race and I knew they were going slow cause I was watching a single car catching the pack of 30 drafting cars. That shouldn’t be happening at Daytona 😂
#DearDenny With Reddick talking about changes they can make in the Sim at 23XI weeks ago, making a car 900hp for example. Could the teams test in the sim a 5 inch spoiler on super speedways to see if the package would race better? It feels like their are problems with the package that drivers have a idea on how to fix and NASCAR wants to ignore them for no reason?
It's like when Rusty Wallace kept calling the car the cot in 2011 lol after it had been around for 4 years. It's not the car of tomorrow Rusty lol. It's the car of today or gen 5 lol
I know you guys will go into the HOF about the same time but self proclaimed winning driver and racing extraordinaire Kenny Wallace swears the racing was amazing. You better check your notes with the Nasholes in Daytona because your obviously missing some huge things that Mr France(the imsa one) will explain to you.
I’m surprised you didn’t pre plan to save in the first stint. I know the caution early changed things and meant yall could potentially make it to the first stage break. Have you watched the Indy 500 in the last 10 years? (I know you are busy that day) You always start saving on the first lap! I enjoyed seeing the strategy of fuel saving because it allows the story of the race to develop. Educated fans will know certain people will have a fuel advantage based on their position in the pack. Especially because tires are irrelevant. This also tells me you don’t use simulation in any way (at lease specifically for Daytona) to learn about potential strategies which is shocking. It’s probably free for you so why not use it, or at least talk to someone who can sim for you?
When they interviewed Byron and asked how he did it. The proper response should have been I can’t thank Bowman enough for the bad push that took out the real competition and got Hendrick a one two finish!!
Umm same could be said to brad and Joey who with their aggressive pushing caused 8 cars to be in a wreck on lap 6...that altered the race as much as what Bowman did...but you're just a Hendrick hater...

Sad NASCAR wont meet with team owners, NASCAR has went downhill. A new Stock Car league needs to open and have Gen 6 style cars. The Srca winner was BS, his dad owns the team so they made the leader who led most of the race start up top and give his son the bottom to let him win

Is anyone having a worse start to a season than Austin Dillon? Missed the Clash, wrecked in the Duels, Wrecked on Lap 6 of the 500, finished 37th. Keith Rodden has got to be on the hot seat. This car was fairly uncompetitive last season for the majority of the year. RC can't be OK with that, neither can the sponsors.
He did the team restart the restart before the last one, but didnt do it on the one lap to go one. He said he would on the first one then the brodcast was guessing weather he would do it again or not.
Get rid of stage cautions and keep the stage points. No more win and you’re in. Top 16 in points make the playoffs. No more elimination races, let the drivers race to Phoenix and the top 4 will still race for a championship.

We all know Mark tried like hell, and I know you do and are too. But, those damn pianos seem to find you.... maybe a new ACME umbrella come the playoffs this year.... maybe MJ car barrow one from Bugs since they're space jam boys 😂
the next gen is absolutely trash and the worst thing is they changed tracks for this car ..ie ruined Atlanta. i have zero clue what this sport is anymore. legit driving in circles now
didnt nascar impliment a rule stating drivers had to run as fast as the could? so therefore holding back to save fuel is a violation of that rule. its a race not a fuel saving marathon christ if i wanted to see a bunch of nerds doing math id watch a scholastic decathlon not be paying hundreds in different tv packages to watch the nerds tell a driver how to drive his car if you run out of fuel its on the crew its the drivers job to drive flat out
I think they just need to get rid of the next gen car. Nothing lasts forever and it's okay they tried something different and it didn't work. It's not just superspeedways with the next gen car the real problem is short track racing. Drag wasn't something teams worried about at a place like Bristol but that's not the case anymore.
I cant stand when a train forms and then nobody is able to make any moves... we won't even get a finish like we used to where a run would come from like 8th off turn 4 and they end up winning. Thats far more exciting.
Fedex driver called the police on me when I passed him and stopped. He just missed my house for a delivery. I was on the phone with his dispatch. 2 years ago. I got 1,000.00 dollar fines. The driver then dropped my expensive package on the ground. Flip off every Fedex truck I see now. He obviously didn't want to race. Ouch.
Ross doesn't know if he has another 2.5 miles left because the next flag ends it after the white so if he waited a caution may have come out before they made it back which is what usually seems to happen here. So he went for it and it didn't work out and he ended up causing that caution on the last lap lol😂😂
I don't think the sponsors would like that. If I'm paying for my name on your car for a race and then you decide to boycott that race I would spend my advertising budget somewhere else
It’s funny how the two guys that caused the big crash late in the race go 1 and 2. The 24 should have been moved to back of the field.just my opinion you shouldn’t be the beneficiary of winning a race after you crashed half the field .

They would be going a lot faster but it wouldn't be one big massive pack of idiots coming the the flag with 15 cars crashing at the checkered all the time. The supper speedway racing has gotten kind of ridiculous. They need to make a change to this I believe. It's not good racing. Most of the drivers out there hate this crap. Even Dale Earnhardt who was so good at Daytona and Talladega hated this type of racing. Shoot even if they just do like Denny said and take some drag out of these cars that would be a step in the right direction. Maybe less drag instead of the 510 they run at the superspeedways do 550 like someone up here told me. Just so we get some separation and more skill and see who the has the best cars and drivers for the 500.
@@DMR_Videos it's wishfully thinking lol. I would love it too but like you said if they can at least get rid of some drag which would also make handling more important as well which would create some separation as well. If they could at least do that, it would be going the right direction. I like how Denny broke it down
These cars are safe enough to up speeds 5-10 mph on the Super Speedways and allow the networks to highlight speed again. They currently avoid.
Demolition derby what they should call Daytona 500 all the fast cars get taken out every year
#DearDenny With Reddick talking about changes they can make in the Sim at 23XI weeks ago, making a car 900hp for example. Could the teams test in the sim a 5 inch spoiler on super speedways to see if the package would race better? It feels like their are problems with the package that drivers have a idea on how to fix and NASCAR wants to ignore them for no reason?
This is it! This is the time to stop saying “Next Gen”. It’s not next! It’s been here for years! They’re Gen 7 cup cars. Please! I’m begging!
It's like when Rusty Wallace kept calling the car the cot in 2011 lol after it had been around for 4 years. It's not the car of tomorrow Rusty lol. It's the car of today or gen 5 lol
Bingo. Made for TV wreckfest.
Yea watching that big one, I was hoping you'd get a hole to get down. Definitely pinned with no where to go if shit hit the fan.
Anyone else not like commentary for Xfinity race in Charlotte? I swear I can tell the difference …
I think they ahould be at the track.
Nascar said they have a group of Judges in a remote spot that have all the data. rieley should have had them weigh in.
It’s probably free for you so why not use it, or at least talk to someone who can sim for you?
super speedway stuff is hurting like denny says the the downforce now is suction to the ground and they got a huge spoiler too. too much
When they interviewed Byron and asked how he did it.
@@truckercowboyed2638yeah but the difference is both Joey and Brad get so much hate while hendrick doesn’t get any criticism.
@@dedo7326Hendrick doesn’t get any criticism? Have you not used Twitter or facebook in the last 20 years.
@@dedo7326wow. You’re completely lost. Hendrick gets more hate than any other teams and im not even a Hendrick fan
@@truckercowboyed2638 Brad and Joey are equally on my lower tier list of superspeedway racers. Brad is a bad pusher and Logano a late blocker!
I have nothing personal against Hendrick. When you f-up you f-up!!
Hell, I was pissed at Hamlin for that block during the duels almost took McDowell and the field out. And I’m a Hamlin fan!!
Remember how getting rid of stage breaks didn't work at road courses, got very boring, well i think Daytona/Talladega/Atlanta, don't need stage breaks, the racing is already exciting & don't need to bunch them back up & then wont be this fuel saving stuff, still can have stage win
But then people hang in the back until the end of the race lol
on that note there still would be points awarded so i'm wrong
@@djrowe007they still hang in the back whenever the stage is about to end bowman literally slowed down out the pack to me time when the stage was about to end
@@bwtmagnesiumwater that's cuz yellow was coming out, im saying have stages & the points etc but then dont throw the yellow
@@DmanDJJ12 oh I see what you mean
Its time they take away this pointless rule of no locking bumpers in the Trucks&Xfinity at Daytona/Talladega,it solves nothing, they still wreck,it holds them back on actually trying to make progress&try to pass & go for the win,the7was moving but had to lay off&look what happened
Maybe they're not showing the data bc it'll show they were wrong to penalize him. He could have faked a start to make the other guy jump
Sad NASCAR wont meet with team owners, NASCAR has went downhill. A new Stock Car league needs to open and have Gen 6 style cars.
The Srca winner was BS, his dad owns the team so they made the leader who led most of the race start up top and give his son the bottom to let him win
175mph laps. Work slow down? They weren't even gaining on Dinger running all by his lonesome. Owners sending a message to "management"? NASCAR won't meet with them? Big name lawyer called in? Can somebody like PIF come in who owns a bunch of tracks or something? What is this "streaming" thing, anyway? Could the owners start their own new league with their own "real TV" contracts? Just thinking out loud. . .
The car owners were looking for a talent agency to book races during the off-season...IF Speedway Motorsports Incorporated sided with the teams they potentially could start their own series
Dinger was gaining on them for a while
@@PaperBanjo64 Have since watched Junior's podcast (with Amy) and he had a totally different - and quite logical and informative - take on the situation.
I guess my biggest lack of understanding is how much NASCAR is reliant on the judgment of members of the France family. Don't even know how many of them are involved or really much of anything about them, except that maybe one of them has had a "less than smooth ride".
What is nascar doing here This package just isn't it. Yes the 1.5 mile races are slightly better but the supers and short tracks stink. Why not go less spoiler on the supers whats it really gonna hurt
I was following Dennys live cam while he was in last car in the pack and it seemed like he could have charged to the front at any time
He did the team restart the restart before the last one, but didnt do it on the one lap to go one. He said he would on the first one then the brodcast was guessing weather he would do it again or not.
Please get long sleeve black t's in your store! Thanks
Get rid of stage cautions and keep the stage points.
No more win and you’re in. Top 16 in points make the playoffs. No more elimination races, let the drivers race to Phoenix and the top 4 will still race for a championship.
Kyle bush had no trouble getting around
nowdays im surprised nascar hasnt ruled you get X gallons of fuel in a race.if you burn it up before the checker, its your problem.
F1 and the Australian Supercars have such rules...IndyCar used to have those rules actually pre split.
It's coming dude. NASCAR doesn't give AF about the fans or the drivers..
They did say bowman was in the top 75 on the tear down
DH, minus the Yota thing (I'm a GM guy) you're seriously on par with Mark in my opinion. I just hope you can cap it off with a championship. We all know Mark tried like hell, and I know you do and are too. But, those damn pianos seem to find you.... maybe a new ACME umbrella come the playoffs this year.... maybe MJ car barrow one from Bugs since they're space jam boys 😂
the next gen is absolutely trash and the worst thing is they changed tracks for this car ..ie ruined Atlanta. i have zero clue what this sport is anymore. legit driving in circles now
I want that hat you're wearing Denny, where can I get one?
didnt nascar impliment a rule stating drivers had to run as fast as the could? so therefore holding back to save fuel is a violation of that rule. its a race not a fuel saving marathon christ if i wanted to see a bunch of nerds doing math id watch a scholastic decathlon not be paying hundreds in different tv packages to watch the nerds tell a driver how to drive his car if you run out of fuel its on the crew its the drivers job to drive flat out
Denny flip flops the lead on pit road because he gets caught speeding in about half the races every year
When you no longer go for a gap that exists, then you are no longer racing driver. - Ross Chastain
Let’s go Denny 2024 champion!
😂😂😂
I like jokes
I wouldn’t mind Denny Hamlin pulling off a Bobby Allison.
I think they just need to get rid of the next gen car. Nothing lasts forever and it's okay they tried something different and it didn't work. It's not just superspeedways with the next gen car the real problem is short track racing. Drag wasn't something teams worried about at a place like Bristol but that's not the case anymore.
could like a team "HMS" decide to get together and run 90% and get so far ahead that others must go or else be too far back on a pit stop
❤
What's Jared's #?
I cant stand when a train forms and then nobody is able to make any moves... we won't even get a finish like we used to where a run would come from like 8th off turn 4 and they end up winning. Thats far more exciting.
WILLIE B!!!!!!! 🏁🍾🎉🏁🍾🎉🏁
So he went for it and it didn't work out and he ended up causing that caution on the last lap lol😂😂
nascar in 2 race weekends had 1 race start on time.
I like the color of Denny's Nike
boycotting wendys after that bs dj whoever and the putt putt golf 3 minute commercial with 30 togo.
Denny whining already
Restrictor plate races suck. Zero reward for having the best car.
I want so badly to hate Denny(because Toyota), but this podcast always brings me back to the dark side
Superspeedway racing just feels so manufactured nowadays. It's got me to the point where I'm skeptical of every offical call NASCAR makes
Where can I get a DHR hat? Black with white D H letters. Size 7.
What would happened if all the teams decided to boycott events?
I don't think the sponsors would like that. If I'm paying for my name on your car for a race and then you decide to boycott that race I would spend my advertising budget somewhere else
Charter revoked
Denny spent most of the race fantasizing about beating all the other drivers.
It’s funny how the two guys that caused the big crash late in the race go 1 and 2. The 24 should have been moved to back of the field.just my opinion you shouldn’t be the beneficiary of winning a race after you crashed half the field .
I will always post this ....I don't understand how people don't like Denny Hamlin. Are people just that dense I have watched NASCAR most of my life but probably not your normal fan because I know jack shit about cars.
We need to stop throwing the yellow at the end of stages.
To much statistics and data not enough talent... Im with you Denny I want to see racing, speed and passing! Drivers are being to cautious to try and make it to the end... Might as well make it a 5 lap race that's where the racing actually happened
KB had no problem driving from the back to the front. Sounds like he is being just a crybaby
