Just an fyi: I started watching your youtube channel full on after watching the Netflix show you were a large part of. That show actually changed my opinion of you. Much the same as the Nascar drivers at home show changed my opinion for the better of Harvick back in the day. When the fans get to see a day in the life type show of drivers (like MTV CRIBS) it creates more hard core fans. We get to see real everyday life, loves and family life away from the track and realize you all are multi faceted and human beings with every day issues and life choices and personalities. We need more shows like that! Thank you - loved the interactions of you with your girls! It was awesome! Thank you!

It could have finished under caution and it would still be considered a great race, but that's not what happened. What happened was one of the greatest finishes in motorsports history.

I'm new to NASCAR, but I grew up watching F1 and totally loving it. After the last race, I can confidently admit that NASCAR is bringing me just the same joy as F1 back in the day. Sorry to see you suffer the crashes, your driving was still on point and insanely good!
Long story short: Got into NASCAR after seeing the Netflix shows about the race and Bubba's documentary. I don't usually watch/listen to podcasts, but it's always interesting to hear the insights from the driver's POV and I think you're doing great with your podcast! I would suggest adding a few clips of the race while discussing since noobs like me have no idea what happened in the specific races unless it would complicate things due to copyright reasons. Just an idea.
Totally hyped for Las Vegas Motor Speedway! Well, and good luck!

I just want you to know Denny you’ve quickly become my favorite driver! Prior to this season I have never watched a single Nascar race. Growing up my dad never watched it because he said the sport was ruined when Toyota’s were added.
My youngest child’s favorite show is the 2008 Cars movie. She loves it so much that some days it’s just played on repeat all day long. Watching it with her I decided I wanted to give Nascar a shot. So I bought Heat 5 and chose your car because 11 was my baseball number growing up, played the game for a while and really enjoyed it. Then the Netflix show came out and holy cow I fell in love and wondered where this had been all my life. Before the Netflix show I really had no idea who Denny Hamlin was I just used your car in the game, now after the show with all of your interviews and it showing the highlights from last years races you are my favorite driver. I watched you win the clash, and I was on the edge of my seat cheering at the tv and screaming at the tv when you got wrecked at Daytona and Atlanta. I found your podcast and now every Monday I cannot wait until it’s posted.
I told my dad that I hope he wasn’t disappointed in me because my favorite driver drives a Toyota. Thankfully he told me he wasn’t, but he is still disappointed that Nascar let Toyotas in to begin with 😅😂
To sum up, you may beat other people’s favorite driver, but you are my favorite driver! #A11IN

the camera quality in the photo finish was bad bc of the outrageous speed the shutter speed needed to be
also it was night time so they needed to put the ISO up which makes it blurry
they decided to choose a middle ground tho and that's why there's kinda that ghost effect in it
if they choose a shutter speed to where the cars would not be blurry it probably would have been nearly pitch black

Following up on the comments about Trackhouse with 4 drivers and 2 seats.
I am of the “opinion” (yep, I know we all have one and they all stink) that the 2 Kaulig cup cars will be racing in the 2025 season under the Trackhouse banner, Kaulig will function as the Xfinity team for TH, much like HMS & JRM. I suspect the financials might be 40M cash for one charter and 40M buy-in to Trackhouse for the other charter. Justin keeps signing drivers, he has a plan for those drivers, and I doubt it is to build someone else’s organization. That is my “bold prediction” for the 2025 season, a formal relationship between Trackhouse and Kaulig.

SHR has fallen so far so fast. This will be 2 years in a row their cars start the season off with a massive penalty (assuming NASCAR will most definitely throw at minimum an L2 penalty at the cars). Same ol Denny. He is 100% innocent in all his wrecks but then Chastains 1 contact for the whole race is all his fault. He is never in the wrong guy's. According to himself

How do we start a petition to take the restrictive plates off at Daytona? I understand safety for the drivers but that's the one race. Where the drivers should be allowed to see how fast they can push the car to the limit.

The more wrecks in a race the more attendance figures increase the next race. Good job Nascar, hope you can duplicate it the next time around.

Take Byron’s car. Hit by McDowell on pit road. Got turned and hit the inside wall at about 90 mph. Messed the entire front suspension and steering up.

They should keep the same tire, only because it is less grippier and makes it harder to drive and stay straight. That is what made this racing good, because you never knew when a good driver was going to lose it from trying to be too good.

A grippier tire will fall off faster and make the cars harder to drive over the course of a run.

Yea having them try to change the packages and tires again after this race is just asinine, this is the best cup race we’ve had in years, use this as a template for all races!

@@mr.smooth7809then explain the last two years of the next gen cup car, the tires have gripped and handled way better and tires made minimal difference…they barely changed lap times over an entire run, Denny talked about this at massive lengths all last year.

@@jaredchampagne2752 I think its more that the cars are grippier than the tire being a soft grippy tire now... But I don't know shit honestly, I was just saying why a soft grippier tire may be better. And yeah this race was awesome but I'm not convinced it was awesome because of the tire.

Denny sitting here talkin about trackhouse may possibly make a move in the 99 to improve their team meanwhile he hires Bubba Wallace to drive the 23 every year🤦‍♂️ 10 outta 10 teams would take the talen of Saurez over Wallace. Hands down

Love the podcast especially on RUclips. I do boo the 11 car not out of animosity, but for fun. I like DH. On another note I’m not what to think about the peeing incident but I’m sure Carl Edwards ant Tyler Reddick were not real thrilled to be called out like that. What do you think?
