I feel so much love for you and your story. The anxiety. The fear. The trauma. I have felt all these things. I had over 200K in debt 10 years ago. I’ve been debt free for a year now, and I wish I had found this community years ago. All the faith in the world for you and your goals, girl. If I can do it so can you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Girl, i also had a similar upbringing. I paid bills at 15 or 16 because things kept getting cut off. I moved 9-10 times and 11 different schools. I look desperately for a stability and thats why i budget. I want a better life than what I had, not blaming anyone. The way we treat money is based on our relationship with money. Its precious to me and when I waste it I get upset because I didnt grow up with it to splurge. I am trying to change that life for me and my husband.

I haven’t even gotten 5 minutes into the video and I’m in shock. Your story is so similar to mine in regards to my mom being a poor money management person and us having to move because of it. I just started budgeting and doing cash envelopes about a year ago and it changed my life. I never looked at the “why” because I just thought I wanted to have better money habits, but watching this video made me realize that I DO have a why and it’s that I don’t want my daughter to grow up and deal with what I dealt with. I want her to be able to get whatever she wants and needs without hesitation and not because mommy can’t pay the bills. I just found your channel yesterday Daisy and I’m so happy I did ❤️

This story really resonated with me. I grew up in NYC too..I hear the NY accent in you lol. I actually bought my first budget binder because of watching your videos. I’m hoping the cash budgeting can help me too. Growing up my parents had really poor money management skills too. My mom was a mom of 4 living off public assistance and my PTSD was her always asking people to borrow money. I vividly remember numerous times she would beg people to loan her money because she couldn’t afford to pay her bills and all the borrowing led to more borrowing and she was always behind. To the point where we almost lost our apartment several times and eventually she couldn’t afford to live where we were and we had to move to the projects. I remember just being ashamed. The adult in me now just thanks god that at least we had a roof over our heads but even then in those reflective moments i wish my mom did better. Then when her kids were growing up she looked at our incomes as a way to keep up with her bills. My story is too much to tell on here but even though I never became like my mother asking for help all the time, I didn’t have good financial management skills and education. I didn’t have family members to show me how to save and talk to me about good credit. I used credit cards like they were extensions of cash instead of loans and here I am years later struggling with debt. Your channel is my favorite out of all the channels with cash budgets that I’ve seen so far. I also am in substantial debt - roughly the same amount you say you owe in this video. I am glad I stumbled upon this because there is hope for me that this will get better. It’s incredibly difficult when you’re paying credit card minimums and the balance doesn’t go down because of the interest. May God continue to bless you with continued success on this platform and I look forward to paying off debt like you. Thank you so much.

Wow sis. I relate to your story on such a deep level. I want you to know that if you really want to change your life you can make the decision today to do so. Whether you believe you can or you believe you can’t you are right. It’s a matter of changing your mindset and a couple that with consistency and you can do this. It’s not always easy and I tell you this from experience but it is so worth it. I definitely believe in you sis. This method of budgeting has really changed not only my money mindset but my life. I’m wishing you tons of success on your budgeting journey. 😘🥰💕💪🏼💰

I’m over here wanting to cry with you. My mother also had poor money skills and was also a con artist.. we moved probably 20 times as well, I went to 3 or 4 elementary schools until I stayed out at one. As a child I was completely oblivious as to what was happening. But now that I am an adult and no longer speak to my mother I understand her struggles. It has been 9 years since I moved out from her house and I am NOW just getting on the budgeting game… it’s been a struggle but I am getting somewhere (thanks to a new job). I feel ya on all levels.

I love this and thank you so much for being so honest and vulnerable. Most people I know have similar stories about their relationship with money. But guess what, you and your husband have made up your minds to do something about it and you two are on the road to turn this all around...YOU CAN DO IT!! 🥰 It will be greater later, but right now you are living like no one else so you can live and give like no one else.
This debt-free journey is a forever lifestyle and that's why we stuff our cash envelopes and sinking funds so we can plan for the things we would usually whip out Mastercard or Visa for like the were going out of style.
Although I didn't come from a single family home and have never been evicted, my parents didn't teach me about money either. My mother didn't work most of my childhood and my father paid the bills.
I've learned over the years that my mother couldn't teach md what she didn't know. I never really saw my mother go to the bank or make a budget. I learned by watching others and making many of my own mistakes. Thank God we know better now and when we know better, we can do and be better.
God bless you and your family and never apologize for being your authentic self even if you get a little emotional. I applaud and appreciate your grind.

I'm a new subscriber. I'm making 2022 the year I get out of debt and get a savings up. I am watching all kinds of videos on savings and budgeting and I'm learning so much. I really appreciate you sharing your why. I grew up with a single mom that wasn't the greatest with money. I've had to tell the landlord my mom wasn't home before too. I have a lot of shame and guilt over money because of how I grew up and I'm bad with money. I want to get better though for my kids, I don't want them to see me struggling with money. Good job taking steps to get it paid off, I believe in you. You can do this.

My children are definitely my number one motivation. Everything I do I do for them and to leave them a legacy. They will never know struggle as long as I’m alive. 🥰💕💕

Especially growing up and not having strong financial influences in your life. Having to learn financial literacy all on your own after having the “wrong way” embedded into your mind for so long…. We’re gunna make it. All of us in this community are already making the proper steps and strides and we can only go up from here. Again, thank you for sharing. Thank you for sharing your story. I can not imagine the fear that would have put you in as a young person. From my own experience as a teenager I remember just wanting to be taken care of, and that wasn’t met at home so I turned to my boyfriend who was (praise Jesus) my future husband of 28 years so far 😻. Together we made a lot of money mistakes and now we are cleaning it all up. We raised 3 girls that all graduated with degrees from college. Unfortunately I don’t think we set them on the no debt path, and they have student loan debt. But they are stronger than us and are making sound money decisions. Your story and desire to do better is very inspiring. Thank you again for sharing!

Firstly let me just say I’m a new subscriber and I love your videos so much. Second I felt this whole heartedly. I jumped into credit card & Loan debt at 21, now 5 years later I’m almost 10K in debt. It’s very difficult because every week I have to pay a credit card bill along with utilities and save for rent. I also have to overdraft my card to allow myself to pay more. And I hate it. Absolutely hate not being able to do what I want cause I don’t have the funds or going out and being broke. I hate this feeling of never ending payments , Late fees and my accounts closing. I made a promise to myself this would be the last year for me to be in debt. I’m about to save money and pay off each card and loan so I can focus on raising my credit

My mom was a single mom of three children and my dad was not in our lives he was in and out of jail a lot and so my mom always did what she could for us we always had food we always had a place over our head and she didn’t have the best money skills as well and so because she didn’t know how to manage her money I didn’t know how to manage my money I got into some debt and now that I’ve grown up I see how important it is to have money management skills . I was told that your credit didn’t matter it’s OK go ahead and get this phone if you want and I ran the bill up and now I’m 28 years old and I’m paying for it so great job on telling a story and I believing you and yes you will get that debt payoff 🙂
