- Get Together made popular by The Youngbloods is one of the most iconic songs of the 60s' hippie counterculture movement during the Summer of Love in San Francisco. A time of peace, war, love, protest, brotherhood and drugs.
This beautiful song of faith was written by Chet Powers (aka Dino Valenti) and was first made popular by The Kingston Trio. The Youngbloods did their version in 1967, and it made #5 on the Billboard Hot List in 1969.

I was a teen when this song was out. I truly believed we were going to change the world for the better. I mourn the world we could have had.
I was just a little girl back in the '60s. Too young to be a part of the group of people protesting for peace and love back then. Let's keep trying to make that world happen - a better place in kindness, unity, empathy and understanding. In my heart, love always wins at the end. ❤

This was one of my first song that meant so much in my teenage year and , yes ,we need so desperately to make those words and those those feelings live again , we need that key to open our genuine heart to love and be human being like we’re suppose to be…. I wasn't even a teen when this came out. You have a very loving voice. I believe that humanity has access to a higher power and one of the doors to it is music. Organized religion is just another form of government. We all find our own roads to paradise. Sometimes we can invite others to travel with us-but down different roads. Our diversity is our organic wealth.
