Well it is a... Younger Version, so of course it be confusing at first because you're looking at a Younger Version of someone who looks different here compared to what he looks like Now.. lol
A great classic song. Takes me back to simpler times, better times, good friends, and great music!. Not like the crap of today that passes for music. And, we got along just fine without cell phones and computers. RIP Rob Grill.
I saw these guys sing this in Dallas at a great show with the Beach Boys, and America in 1989. It was in a nice outdoor amphitheatre setting and a few thousand people. Just a gem of a song from one of the greatest years for music ever, 1967. Looks like it made #8 on the music charts in June of that year, but that is something, given the volume of great songs that came out at that time. And this one like so many back then, really ended up influencing the way I live a little bit. I mean the words are the truth--at least to me. We only have today--and why worry about the future too much-you know. I came to listen again after I just read Lloyd Holiday's Amazon book, The Cost of a Thing. He mentions this song in his writing. He takes you back in a quirky way, out of the troubles of today and back to the great times and music of the 1960s when he was growing up. I think he captured it. I wish I could pop back there right now and see Mom and Dad and the all the others while the beautiful music just kept coming. What a great time it was.
One night in ‘98 I was attending a Nordstrom Vendor party in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. A guy went up to the MC (electro-dj) and asked him to play this tune. He had to be 45-50, but when the song started, 40-50 people moved out to dance. 80 seconds into it, everyone else, Nordstrom employes and vendor reps (fragrance and cosmetics reps) had stopped, moved to the side, and watched as the old couple totally expressed love in there dance moves and eye expressions. All we could do was watch in wonder! The love they expressed TO each other in their eyes as they danced drew comments from others there at the Laundromat. Beautiful.
very very well............................................................................................................................................................
I had this one on a greatest hits LP. This is one of the songs that defines The Counter Culture Revolution. That’s why the 60’s were a great time for music.
wow bring back so many memories lost a good friend in 67 I was ten he was a good friend to the family he had went to korea for the war he was killed not long after the vietnam war
50 years later and still loving this tune. Get a laugh out of the old lip sinking TV shows though. Would look more realistic if they had the guitar cords plugged in though,
This was the 2nd Grass Roots originally the 13th floor elevators until Roky Erikson threatened A lawsuit and Steve Barri suggested the name Graasroots.
first heard this on my transistor radio, sophmore in high school, i think i was around 12 years old. in chicago, it was on WLS chicago station. boy, does that bring back memories.
I was another young teen, 11-12, that found the cool music via transistor radio. Amazed at all this great music, while hiding the radio under the covers when I was supposed to be sleeping.
I have to hear this song while driving a 18wheeler A Kenworth T680 T880 or aW900 a Peterbilt 567 579or a389 a Freightliner Cascadia or Coronado or a International LT model sleeper cab models
It's crazy to see Creed Bratton from The Office playing guitar up there, small world

The only songs with meaning today are remakes of those, but they’re not nearly as enjoyable with electronic v acoustic.

They are all great looking guys! Especially love the sweet smile on Warren's face. That adorable boyish smile.
