@@RocStarr913 TV adaptations of movies would do that too, like how the TV series of Weird Science and Ferris Buehler changed the locations from Northbrook, IL to southern California. Obviously it's easier to film in SO-Cal but it still took some getting used to. I think the Uncle Buck TV show might've also been set in Cali but I forget.
Yeah- for me, it in respect sucks to me how much more I thought I could expect from that show even when I was a kid- Screech went from being a character that I hated- played by a teen boy that I somehow resented for him having done so- to being a guy in his adulthood- that I started to respect as a man who used to be a teenager- that just wanted to make money on a half-hated show by some, that, especially in retrospect- WHY NOT do a SIMPLE SHOW, with SIMPLE lines of dialog and actually be around or course, EASILY smarter in real life friends on set and long after!? ALSO, for LOADS OF CASH!? At least I didn't somehow meet him in the early / middle 90s- I was a jerk about Dustin Diamond and I did not originally care to think of it that way until the last portion of his life.
That would never have happened. Good Morning, Miss Bliss originally basically was a total failure that was completely retooled into a different series. It’s best to think of the Miss Bliss series as basically a season-long first pilot.
I think this should have been the closing credits theme for the SAVED BY THE BELL: WEDDING IN LAS VEGAS. Since that telefilm is considered to be the true SBTB series finale, using this for the closing theme would have made a perfect bookend for the entire series including GMMB

Well, I know now that this was a show that originally aired on The Disney Channel back in its heyday and we never had access to such a classic channel at the time, but still.

That's why he spent most of his time and energy into casting that role. Screech was second. When the show was sold to Disney Channel as a primetime sit-com and failed, Tartikoff refused to give up on it and wanted it back at NBC. Engel showed him that audience reactions were more interested in the students, especially Zach, proving Engel was right the whole time. The second element that turned "SBTB" into the success it became (and "Bliss" didn't) was suggesting that it be aired towards the Saturday Morning kids audience, something that was almost exclusively occupied by cartoons at the time.

I remember watching the reruns of good morning Miss Bliss for the first time years and years ago before I realized that it was the original version of saved by the Bell... But the thing is when I first saw the reruns of it they actually played it with the theme from the saved by the Bell that everybody knows well With the funny colored credits and everything .. so the first time I saw this intro was later on and I was in shock when I saw it LOL
That's because this opening was only shown when GMMB originally aired on the Disney Channel. In syndication, they just use the usual SBTB theme with the GMMB characters on there, as they treat it as the first season of STBT.
I remember watching this on Disney Channel. Then when SBTB came along, I was all “wait a minute... where’s Hayley Mills?” Then the repackaged episodes with the “current” Zack doing a cold open started airing and that “Ohhhhhh.... ok” moment hit me.

I have a soft spot for the “Miss Bliss” era of SBTB. The College Years were awful, but I honestly liked this as much as the Bayside era. Hayley Mills played a good character! It’s a shame only 13 episodes were made.

One of the reasons for the change in tone, iirc, was because GMMB was a Disney show. When Disney cancelled it, Peter Engel changed it when he pitched it to NBC for Saturday mornings for a slightly older audience. The middle school years were repackaged, and nbc ran a marathon the Friday night before the premiere of saved by the bell, to get publicity for it.
Interesting- so this show that was reworked into being 'Saved By The Bell' I can figure would of worked MUCH better instead as a prime time show and not a Saturday / Sunday morning show.

I used to watch Saved By the Bell reruns on WGN back in the day, and they would show these with the Saved By the Bell intro. I always figured it was just the lousy first season that everyone forgot about.
This show was so much better than what Saved by the Bell became. There was a lot more depth and good messages. My parents allowed me to watch Saved by the Bell growing up, because it didn't cuss (that was the big rule with us--no cussing), but it's so shallow, and shows the kids treating others badly and disrespectfully. I guess it's mostly harmless, but I like the Miss Bliss episodes much better.

If you watch saved by the bell on netflix, literally season one is just good morning miss bliss. They just changed the title to be cohesive with the rest of the series.

Thank you fort posting this. When I found out that the junior high years were original called Good Morning Miss Bliss, I always wondered what the intro would look like without the rocking SBTB intro.
The show was repackaged as Saved by the Bell: The Junior High Years almost immediately after Saved by the Bell started the following year. They changed the opening to be the same as that series and started airing all the reruns with it. The DVD's also have the changed Saved by the Bell style opening, and they even list it as the first season of the show. Purists who buy the DVD set are probably not going to like that much, but I personally think the change was a good idea. It makes it fit in much better with the rest of the shows.
In the 90s when they’d show syndicated reruns, sometimes they’d show a “junior high” episode that would begin with “current” Zack introducing the episode to the viewer, and then it would go into the Saved by the Bell intro with the Miss Bliss cast.
Not really, more like a retool of this. Good Morning, Miss Bliss is considered Season 1 of Saved by the Bell in syndication. This opening doesn't appear in syndication either, just the usual STBT opening. So, if you watching Season 1 of SBTB on Hulu or Peacock, you're actually watching Good Morning, Miss Bliss. SBTB proper begins at Season 2.

Yeah, I don't remember this at all. I remember thinking this show was Saved By the Bell, but the Miss Bliss era was middle school and Bayside was high school. It all kind of ran together as one show in my brain as a kid. I don't remember two separate shows. Thanks for the upload.

I’m only 22 & the character of “Screech” really meant a lot to me growing up!💔..I’m still heartbroken that he’s gone..I’ve even shedded some tears when I binge watched “Good Morning, Miss Bliss” & “Saved By The Bell” in Hulu..Now I’m currently on the college years..And Just seeing him move and speak and knowing he’s not here anymore Is really mind boggling & gut wrenching to me..I Just wish he had a better life behind the scenes..Rest Easy Dustin!🙏🏾❤️

I was disappointed that the DVD didn't use this original intro instead of the Saved By the Bell intro.

It's very strange that the Netflix collection of SBTB episodes includes "Good Morning Miss Bliss" era of episodes, but uses the classic SBTB intro.
This is my first time hearing the intro yet it feels nostalgic. I like the song and the images (though they are dull).

How does this have more lyrics than 90%of todays music? It was a stupid sitcom intro ,but Christ they really worked for the money back then. They put much more into it than people do today.

I always thought Nikky from Miss Bliss and Jessie from Saved by the bell had similar personalities. I also felt Mickey from Miss Bliss and Slater from Saved by the bell had similar personalities. I wonder if miss bliss had continued how would this show turned out.
When I first saw a Miss Bliss episode, packaged as Saved by the Bell, in a Saved by the Bell syndication time slot, I thought Nikkie was Kelly, and Mikey was Slater. I wondered where Jessie was.

I heard Nikki was supposed to return for Saved by the Bell, but she was let go after the actresses mother demanded a bigger paycut or something.
I'm still not sure why Mikey didn't return. Perhaps because they brought in A.C. Slater, which was pretty much his replacement?

I have a soft spot for the “Miss Bliss” era of SBTB. The College Years were awful, but I honestly liked this as much as the Bayside era. Hayley Mills played a good character! It’s a shame only 13 episodes were made.
The college years series gets on my nerves. I can't stand to watch it honestly. I tried just isn't that good to me. The movies either.

Yeah- for me, it in respect sucks to me how much more I thought I could expect from that show even when I was a kid- Screech went from being a character that I hated- played by a teen boy that I somehow resented for him having done so- to being a guy in his adulthood- that I started to respect as a man who used to be a teenager- that just wanted to make money on a half-hated show by some, that, especially in retrospect- WHY NOT do a SIMPLE SHOW, with SIMPLE lines of dialog and actually be around or course, EASILY smarter in real life friends on set and long after!? ALSO, for LOADS OF CASH!? At least I didn't somehow meet him in the early / middle 90s- I was a jerk about Dustin Diamond and I did not originally care to think of it that way until the last portion of his life.
One of the reasons for the change in tone, iirc, was because GMMB was a Disney show. When Disney cancelled it, Peter Engel changed it when he pitched it to NBC for Saturday mornings for a slightly older audience. The middle school years were repackaged, and nbc ran a marathon the Friday night before the premiere of saved by the bell, to get publicity for it.

Interesting- so this show that was reworked into being 'Saved By The Bell' I can figure would of worked MUCH better instead as a prime time show and not a Saturday / Sunday morning show.

What season I can't find it
I used to watch Saved By the Bell reruns on WGN back in the day, and they would show these with the Saved By the Bell intro. I always figured it was just the lousy first season that everyone forgot about.
This show was so much better than what Saved by the Bell became. There was a lot more depth and good messages. My parents allowed me to watch Saved by the Bell growing up, because it didn't cuss (that was the big rule with us--no cussing), but it's so shallow, and shows the kids treating others badly and disrespectfully. I guess it's mostly harmless, but I like the Miss Bliss episodes much better.

i found a version of good morning miss bliss with the save by the bell opening
The show was repackaged as Saved by the Bell: The Junior High Years almost immediately after Saved by the Bell started the following year. They changed the opening to be the same as that series and started airing all the reruns with it. The DVD's also have the changed Saved by the Bell style opening, and they even list it as the first season of the show. Purists who buy the DVD set are probably not going to like that much, but I personally think the change was a good idea. It makes it fit in much better with the rest of the shows.
In the 90s when they’d show syndicated reruns, sometimes they’d show a “junior high” episode that would begin with “current” Zack introducing the episode to the viewer, and then it would go into the Saved by the Bell intro with the Miss Bliss cast.

Not really, more like a retool of this. Good Morning, Miss Bliss is considered Season 1 of Saved by the Bell in syndication. This opening doesn't appear in syndication either, just the usual STBT opening.
So, if you watching Season 1 of SBTB on Hulu or Peacock, you're actually watching Good Morning, Miss Bliss. SBTB proper begins at Season 2.

Actually I thought for a time I saw Hopper singing in the chorus on SBtB episode "Glee Club" (Tori Spelling Beautiful Dreamer), but looking at pictures now it doesn't quite look like her.
