I have an orvar deck and it can get really busted if left unchecked. "THIS IS WHY YOU KILL THE BLUE PLAYER" ....You are correct sir! Haha

Was interesting to see the different approach to building the zhur and kykar decks. Would've definitely liked to see both decks played out more, but the Orvar deck just dominated the game lol. Great Content!!
That’s always a hard part about these games is I feel like a lot of decks don’t get a chance to shine. I’m not into scripting things though so it is how it is sometimes.
Orvar's player hit infinite mana only with mind games and peregrine drake, he could have made infinite peregrine drages with infinite casts of mind games and have infnite +1 blue mana.
That deck needs a better finisher, something like Brain Freeze, he could deck at least one player with that (or target himself and go for Thassa or smth like that). Grab a Lier for flashbacks and no-counter spells. Grab some Draw X spells like blue sun zenith and you can deck everyone :D
All in all cool game.
Ya we saw a few paths for him after the game and during editing, but didn’t see them during the game

In my Orvar deck, I have Thoracle and Jace, Wielder of Mysteries as wincons. Each time you copy Thoracle, your devotion count increases so you eventually win that way. Jace helps dealing with the decking yourself problem by making it a wincon
We did a group ban of Thoracle for awhile, but Jace was legal at this time.
Hmm that last play for orvar made me a little confused, can play it a little simpler..drake, emeritus and mind games is already infinite mana and draw.. next is look for lightning greaves make infonite copy with mindgames equip to drake and thats game
The Archmage will force him to lose by drawing out his deck. He's hard to remove most of the time. That's why I took him out of my Orvar deck. He's not a may draw. You have to draw.

@@blaineallen5297 Not before making a copy of Archmage. That defeats the purpose.
@@kamikazechicken8794 true but mindgames is a sorcery, you can stop once you see your greaves and your bounce cards and do you loop again once you remove yoir emeritus
I think the easiest way is to include a Thassa's Oracle which has nice synergy with flicker and copy effects, to play or copy after drawing the whole deck.
Please adjust your sound levels. In some sections, the background music is louder than the players. Jason and Julian were difficult to hear when they were leaning back in their chairs.
We did. Unfortunately the voice recorder we used instead of personal mics picked up some players more than others. We tried to modify that in post but couldn’t do it quite how we wanted as each player was not on their own audio track.

No venser in the main for orvar? I typically use that or brainfreeze to win over something like thassa's. Venser can also bounce back your archmage to prevent yourself from decking out

I cannot for the life of me figure out why Orvar was allowed that many Rhystic triggers. Just mind boggling.

@24:34. Brice cast Ghostly Flicker. Clickering the archon with Necromancy and something else. Necromancy has a state based action effect that when Necromancy leaves the battlefield the creature it is attached to is sacrificed. Archon returns to the battlefield with the necromancy unattached. This part doesn't matter because the necromancy will now check if it has left the battlefield. Since it did. Archon is sacrificed.
So the stack.
1st Ghostly Flicker resolves blinking archon/necro.
2nd necro leaves trigger resolves sac Archon (goes to owners graveyard)
3rd necro etb on the stack searching for targets in your graveyard.
@@KingdomsTVWorldgorger Dragon wouldn't work if the stack didn't resolve this way.
All that said. He still wins but on his next turn. With infinite kykar birds from casting the buy back spells with infinite mana.
No mystic sanctuary loop in Orvar, so sad.
We trying to play good, but somewhat unique versions. Sometimes we took it too far though. :)
Fair enough😊 but copying sanctuary is busted. Basicaly your gy is your second hand full of interaction.
