My great grandmother had one in white, she bought it new in 1958 and used it till she died in 1994 and it was sold with her house after she died, i wish i had been old enough to aquire it at that point otherwise i would have.
That is a very neat washing machine. I am search up is it still works after 70 years. Sadly, the washing machines that people buy from Lowe’s or Home Depot do not nearly last as long as this one, and they always end up in landfills compared to the older washing machines. If these washing machines were built like in the 50s, then there is less worry about the landfills. You’ve got a lot of awesome vintage washing machines. Every video I watch, I was thinking they definitely shouldn’t have stopped production of a quality washing machine. Besides, I would take this good old GM Frigidaire over any high-efficiency washing machine.
Awesome video! Nice to see one with the original dole valve still working! While I'm more partial to the WO-65 that does 2 deep rinses instead of the lint-away rinse, I certainly admire all GM built frigidaires. I hope to use or even own one someday
From my experience; when it comes to doing a load of laundry in a short time, 20 - 30 - 45 minutes nothing outperforms them. The new models that are better with stains and rinses better, take a much longer time. A short cycle on a modern machine is often 60 minutes and the quick 20 minutes cycle, and it just doesn`t get it as clean. The 20 minute cycle is more like a rinse, you can`t use detergent. I sometimes used to tweak an old Maytag to repeat the main wash once or twice so 12 minutes became 24 and sometimes even 36. A full load needed an extra rinse, even then I got a full load done in an hour.
That's the way they advertised these machines in the 60's. The agitator got even the dirtiest clothes 3x cleaner than the standard washers at the time. 😮
@@alandale2182 I don`t think quick cycles are a priority anymore, those days are long gone. Newer machines both for laundry and dishes easily run 2 to 3 hours before they are done.
Only time we saw washers like these in the UK was at the launderette. I remember ones that had the same wash action and you put the powder in a hole in the top of the agitator post
Wow Gso this machine looks and works like brand new, Did you refurbish this machine or did you get it like this??? What a great video, Thanks Gso and have a great day... Bob
Amazing how a 70 year old Washer is still working so well. Puts most of the new machines to shame.
Truth there
My mouth dropped when that drum went into spin mode to drain the water.
Jeez!!! 😮
That's a beautiful shade of green.
That machine is kicking butt. Those towels were turning over so quickly, it was amazing.
A Beautiful Machine, nice Color too ! So quiet compared to mine....lol

My Grandmother had one of these machines. Top of the line!
A simple machine, all you need

I love the way it disperses the soap cake wow
Nothing cleans like a GM Frigidaire.
My dads mom had one for yrs all the way until the late 80,s then got a new Maytag when a Maytag was a Real Maytag.
Great machine!!
I remember the 1970's advertisement, it was called "Jet-Cone Action" and only Fridgidaire has it. 🐾🐾🐕
Wow a true washing machine
This machine I bet produces better results with cleaner clothes than any modern laundry equipment does.

@@turtlefromthenorth It might be faster to wash stuff in the kitchen sink. 🤭
That washer has a super fast spin
1140 RPM. The first GE automatic toploader also did 1140.
Yes this when Frigidaire was owned by GM , FUN FACT: WASTEKING MADE FRIGIDAIRE DISPOSERS and I also like appliances made from 1930 to 1980
Love these machines
Hell yeah GSO is back with a good one! Wait gotta get the laundry
And it uses lots of water to get the clothes clean! 😊❤
Pozdrawiam Serdecznie Z Jastrzębia Zdroju Na Górnym Śląsku W POLSCE 🇵🇱🍺🍺
Very nice awesome machine too bad they don’t make them anymore like that
My mom had one of these it was good but she refused to get rid of it until she couldn’t get parts anymore for it lol

Hey, nice!
Fun old machine, but glad I can get my clothes washed and dried in the same machine in relative silence today.
Where would i look to buy one of these?
Are there any new washing machines out today with an agitator like this?
Great color. But what in the world happened to Frigidaire even in the 90s it was junk
GM dropped the appliance division in 1979 and there you go….
