❤He was at Americasmart in building 3 when the shooting was going on at the Food Court across from building 1, two woman were shoot in the leg, both are fine. He then started talking like he witnessed the shooting, but he wasn’t even in the Food Court, after the interview is probably when he jumped on the bus. I have friends that work in all 3 buildings downtown Atlanta, who told me about him. 🙏🏾🥰🙏🏾

I'm almost certain he wasn't carrying a legal gun. Now if more people carried, maybe the threat could've been stopped. An armed society is a polite society.

He wasn't carrying a gun. Someone pulled a gun on him and he took it away, just like he said he would do in a hypothetical situation he mentioned in a news interview an hour prior his own incident.
Just so happened, he got into an argument t on the bus..somebody pulled a gun and he overpowered him and took it🤷🏿♂️ might've had a case if he didn't in turn hijack the whole bus full of people🤦🏿♂️

Uh, so no one is going to ask WHY Ernest Byrd had a gun on a commuter bus? If he didn't have a gun he would still be alive today. He had his own weapon used against him. IF that was his own registered, permitted, licensed, open carry handgun. Idk Georgia laws on carrying a firearm, but I would be very interested in that part of the story.
Why would police point the gun at the driver?

Condolences and sympathy to Mr. Byrd’s family. I’m a Ride Gwinnett commuter also, though I ride another route. I was really shaken when I saw the news and realized it was a GC commuter bus that it happened on. I was talking to my bus driver about it this morning. He’s still driving, and I’m still riding, though.
Those poor people and that brave driver. 3 months on the job? He deserves a raise and a commendation from the city.
Sir you have a daughter, and I highly doubt you are making that much more than minimum wage driving a commuter bus. This situation was hardly worth dying over. As you see the gentleman that pulled the gun is the one that died and now his children are mourning him. All of this was senseless.

I don’t disagree with most of what you’re saying but I doubt he’s making minimum wage. I live in St. Louis, Missouri. Small city, lower wages, but also lower cost of living.The median income is $52,000-56,000 here. Our city bus drivers start around $50,000. I doubt St. Louis is over paying anyone. My sister just started driving the bus. That’s how I know.

So the hijacker got into it with a bus passenger who pulled out a gun but the person who had the gun pulled on him took it away from him and shot him with his own gun,sounds like self defense....he might not had been charged if he hadn't hijacked the bus.

That comment "it's happening all over the world", is probably what triggered it: to go from one shooting to having a gun pulled on him, pushed him OTT.
So, the victim pulled a firearm, got his weapon taken then got shot? He could have possibly beat that case had he not panicked and hi-jacked the bus.

The victim was killed by his own gun. NYC subway riders shot by his own gun. If No one has a gun legally or not in these two cases there will be no injuries or death. Guns are the problem not mental health issues.
