I have alot of respect for this girl. She sits here talks about Islam beautifully, tries her best to convey the message of Islam despite her age and despite her not being a scholar or anything, she sits here as a true pakistani, wearing her traditional dress...wearing her faith on sleeve....yet people are despising her and making fun of her, that shes getting way too much attention and everythings coming her way......before u.point fingers at her, point fingers at your brain and ask urself to do a proper research on what shes done and what she has been through.....

I pray peace and blessings upon this young lady for all her battles for the side of peace, equality and justice. I am as well proud to have found my Islam but sad when I see how some practice a twisted idea of this faith that only harms those around them keeping them in darkness and fear. Islam tells us to learn and to teach not to seek ignorance!

Malala is an icon because she is Malala. You cannot sit in the comfort of you surrounding and judge her because that would make you no different from the people who tried to shut her up. She is a Muslim but is clearly questioning some fundamental issues surrounding Islam. The wars and fighting have never stopped and perhaps never will BUT what Malala is fighting for is the right for every individual to make a well informed decision of what they want to do and that comes from education. Education will free the children from following the blind faith they have no choice but to embrace as death looms above their head if they don't. And she is correct about Islam. It is basically a religion born out of the necessity to unite tribes and behave in accordance with social norms that prevailed at that time. The prophet went to war to bring about this change, interestingly to also protect women and children. Unfortunately, the Koran was not written by him but almost 60 years after his death. Thus we have the dilemma of interpretation. Here, Malala calls on Muslims to question some of these as clearly the teachings and the intention of the prophet seem juxtaposed.
I'm not a Muslim but I've been studying all religions over the past 35 years and can assure you that Malala is one of a kind and we should all, immaterial of our faith or believe or sexual orientation, support her as we have the greatest opportunity here to permanently cut the supply chain of so called "Islamic" terrorist organisations at its very source - innocent, uneducated, desperately poor children.

she never said any of those things, reevaluate and stop twisting her words to fit your opinion. She focuses on education while dimwits like you try to justify hate and ignorance thus working against education.

36:36 the argument for education instead of punishment was heard from Germans before this, and the two ideologies have the need of allowing criminals go scot free. They share a vital key in the two ideologies, namely, eradication of all others, usually declared subhuman by both, via ethnic cleansing.

34:00 the argument here against drone attacks to eradicate terrorists cells is plausible but incorrect in more than one way. First, terrorism was begun by pak as a profitable industry with virtually no investment whatsoever - SA and US provided funds at two ends ( SA provided funds for madarsas while US did so for weapons and ammunition, and living expenses for the jihadists were born split by them, SA during indoctrination at madarsas and US during war against USSR); there was no reason to begin that business except pak greed for lands of countries in neighbourhood, which resulted in Kashmir joining India for protection and Baluchistan being occupied by pak, before Afghanistan was terrorists overrun at behest of pak. Second, stopping drone attacks isn't going to stop terrorists, nor is any other measure - their goal is to conquer world and eradicate all dissent, which can only go on a la Permanent Purge. This is why they destroyed schools in Afghanistan and everywhere they control, and stopped all life for women outside walls. Stopping drone attacks against them is a need for terrorists, which pak is forwarding through this girl with innocent civilians for argument; if terrorists cared about civilians they wouldn't be hiding amongst them, which they always do. Civilians are only useful to terrorists as victims of attacks against terrorists, so they can scream against any measure by any terror victim nation crying "innocents affected". Malala is being used by terrorists via pak régime in speaking against drone attacks, however much ignorant she is of this. She is young!
