It's just a starting point and people typically cut the extensions off after their hair grows out and the roots have been palm rolled and formed into locs. Usually people do this in one to two years. Thanks for tuning in! The ideal texture is afro kinkybulk. I refrain from suggesting specific brands because I've seen inconsistencies in many. So, is the more ideal option to let my audience know it's best to test/twist the hair before buying to insure quality, forthe sake of liability. I never want to be misleading. Just think of i told you get"xyz" and it was the bad batch, now I'm questionable. Lol!

Hello, thank you for the video. Is there a kinky human hair that you could recommend? I want to start my locs this way. I should also mention that I will likely need to color it because my hair is a reddish cinnamon
Sadly: 1) human hair twists don't have the same end result look. 2) if you want a colored hair buy that specific color, because even though they call that hair human kinky it never dies. That's from years of personal experience. Gladly, you can start locs with this method/hair. Its light weight and can be washed/treated as your own. You'd just be palm rolling/retwisting the new growth. Thanks for watching☺
No problem. I did discuss that in the video. The texture youre looking for is called afro kinky bulk. I don't promote or suggest brands due to inconsistencies I've experienced with various brands. So, your best bet would be to twist the hair before buying it☺
Yayah Love to be frank there is no rough part. people either prefer long hair or are comfortable with short hair. yes locs can be started from twist extensions. dont do them too small as this will cause weak/ damaged roots.
Such A Natural thanks for replying and I really appreciate the tip and good to know there’s no rough part but yea i didn’t want the short length and I will definitely post once I start this process so look out for me 👍🏽
thank you. of course you can. this is the perfect option for those looking to skip any potential awkward phases of the locking process. it can be with either fiber. as your new growth will be what you continue on with the palm rolling method. so it really just boils down to if you want to spend on the human hair or not (35 a pack in the metro detroit area) when youd spend about that much in total for the synthetic hair. lastly you get more length retention with the synthetic hair and the human hair doesnt render the same result, loks good, just not like the finished look in this video (from what ive seen). thanks for watching and your feedback. you can text or call me at anytime for any further concerns 313-948-8957. take care
@@deshawdrarobinson2796 just seeing this 🤦🏿♀️ I'm in metro Detroit. 16824 kercheval ave at the corner of cadiuex. All starting prices are listed at www.suchanaturalbeauty.com 🌹
Sunya G. DaHairQueen excellent question. The texture of this hair matches so well with the models hair because it’s in a curly state. Hair that has any sort of straightness to it will poke out. Unlike the straight kanekalon hair used for braids and Senegalese twists which camouflages and controls straighter textures. I wouldn’t recommend trying this look until you cut off the straightness, in all honesty, it won’t look good/have much longevity if you do. Thanks for watching☺️
A link? I have a video referencing the different brands if you'd like to look at that for further information so you can decide what to research and where to get for the best price, for you. Thanks for watching 🌹
Hello. All natural hair matches this style. I do this style on all natural textures. Damp hair is the preference because it's more pliable/stays moist, for me. Blow dried hair is useful for cornrows, box braids, and extensions that use straight\kanekalon hair. The purpose of the style in the video, is to mimic natural hair, while providing longevity. Therefore anyone with straight or heat damaged hair couldn't get the style because their hair would poke out of the extensions, due to the contrast of the extension being curly and their hair having straighteness. Thanks for watching!
I have always been in love with the kinky twist etc look but didn't get it until it played out ! Is this style coming back ? I would love to get it again and be up with current styles.
favtmofyr allsesns these are two strand twist extensions. A natural set of extensions to mimic twists done on loose hair. Kinky twist have a corkscrew curl at the bottom. These curl at the end on their own. Thanks for watching. Share with and of your diy friends
Sharnell Grant hi dear i Definitely am working on damp hair in this video. However when i create this look either way (wet or dry) renders same end result. thanks for watching
ive used all of them (accessible to metro Detroit) and they can all be inconsistent. Go for the afro kinky texture and just twist before purchasing to be sure.
Great question! The more loose the curl pattern the longer but kinky is ideal overall. So with kinky hair, 3 inches or longer, including hairline/edges 🌹
It's a method of locking hair regardless of the type. Hair is lightweight and can be cared for as your own. Similar to human hair starter locs as twist extensions they never change from looking like twists so people grown out the roots and as the roots loc up and get longer the extensions get cut off. So if you only want to use human hair that's totally up to you but I'm just confirming the results will be the same. Best wishes!
What kind of kinky synthetic hair did you use? The hair seems way softer than your normal Marley type of hair. I’ve used a very soft natural kinky braiding hair for my kinky twist years ago but couldn’t find it since.
hi in the video i use afro kinky bulk for these two strand twist extensions. to get the finished look from this video thats what itd suggest. i use a variety of brands just be sure to twist before purchasing, some packs have been inconsistent. thanks for watching.
@@trulyblessedby3 excellent question! I mean to avoid buying hair that doesn't twist properly, twist it in the beauty supply because I've had far too many cases of buying hair that is just bad, lol! So, that's gonna save you some time and money. 🌹
Soak the hair. In a big bowl or basin, use apple cider vinegar and mostly water. A few hours up to overnight the alkaline treatment that is on the hair gets removed from the hair. No itching! My overall point was the human hair doesn't look the same as what you see me wearing in the video. Doesn't mean it doesn't look good. Just not the same. May want to yt search for a video on the topic 😊 thanks for tuning in 🌹
I love this but whenever I add extension hair to my hair , my twist fuzz’s up after a week or two and starts poking out from the twist . Any suggestions how to avoid this ? I live in a very humid area
Thanks! My guess is you are wetting them a lot or doing them too large. You want to be sure you control the hair and properly have it controlled by the extension during install this will help you overall avoid the problem and after a couple months you can Palm roll to neaten and for aways.
I love this style! I haven’t had it for a while but would love to wear it again, however, I don’t think I can do synthetic hair anymore. I had a allergic reaction a few months ago when a I tried faux locs. Does the price listed include the hair and what would the costs be for human kinky hair in this style? Thanks!
This hair appears to ve hypo allergenic from my own personal experience. This isnt tge same hair/texture as what's used for faux locs. Plus this can be washed and as light as air while wet. Faux locs a different story. The listed price is not including hair. It's $275 hair included. If you get human hair: it won't look like nor close to the finished results above, the hair is 35 a pack (vivica fox afro soul), 6 packs would be good. Itll be the listed price of 250 with you providing the hair☺
Such A Natural This would be my first service with you 😊 I had this style done years ago with human hair by a natural hair stylist on Livernois. Then I had Sisterlocks/microlocks for 6.5 years (my goal before the end of the year again). However, I’m an east-sider at ❤️ 😊 I miss living on Piper Blvd and driving thru The Pointes on Lakeshore Drive (picking out my houses) to get to Eastland Mall 😆 I’ve admired your work online for awhile and realized today that I really don’t ever want to flat iron/press my hair even a little bit ever again. My hair just goes “pouf”! 😆
sashadc3 hi. Great question. Blown out hair is for things like box braids or when dealing with a silky texture extension. Since i want my clients extensions to seamlessly mesh with her own hair, no need to blow dry. Your query of blow drying may be based on concern of tangling or ease of style completion...her hair was well moisturized and finger detangled so this process was a breeze. Thanks so much for tuning in😊
I would like to try this style on my daughter. My question is: how will the hair react if I moisturize her with a spray? Or how do you suggest keeping the hair moisturized? Thanks
laikita smith hey. As long as she sits well this will be a good go to (though i only suggest adding extensions age12 and up if at all). Typically takes 5 to 7 hours. And moisturizing is key with this (any) style. Spray is nice/easy to control/apply. Definitely include oil in moisturizing regimen. Grapeseed is my go to. And you can totally wash and condition without worrying about it feeling like a ton of bricks. Thanks for tuning in Takecare
Such A Natural why do you recommend extensions at 12+? I am considering a style like this (either twists or box braids) for my daughters, 8&9 but I don't want to do anything unhealthy for their hair.
Dangle Charms im just personally not a proponent for extensions on young ppl. Their hair (hair in general) is fragile no need in extra weight especially as active as young ppl can be.
J Jackson if youve ever had extensions before, the length of hair you know the extension, obviously, wouldn't hold onto with sweat to being physically active. Hair texture adds another variable because we know short kinky hair is much different than short loose pattern.
Hello. These are two strand twist extensions, so i couldn't answer that question, due to the fact i dont offer kinky twists. However, i do discuss what hair i used in this video as well as the description box

Hi ik this is a little late but how much packs of hair did you use?
Hey☺️ 2-3 packs is safe!
Is this a good way to start my dreads? Because if so this would totally help me skip the rough part
Yayah Love to be frank there is no rough part. people either prefer long hair or are comfortable with short hair. yes locs can be started from twist extensions. dont do them too small as this will cause weak/ damaged roots.
Such A Natural thanks for replying and I really appreciate the tip and good to know there’s no rough part but yea i didn’t want the short length and I will definitely post once I start this process so look out for me 👍🏽
Yayah Love text me pics!
Such A Natural I will but I’m trying to let my relaxer wear out so it may be about 2 months but until I’m still learning how to post and do my videos
Beautiful, it looks very natural. I was wondering if I could start my loc'c off this way, with human hair of course???
thank you. of course you can. this is the perfect option for those looking to skip any potential awkward phases of the locking process. it can be with either fiber. as your new growth will be what you continue on with the palm rolling method. so it really just boils down to if you want to spend on the human hair or not (35 a pack in the metro detroit area) when youd spend about that much in total for the synthetic hair. lastly you get more length retention with the synthetic hair and the human hair doesnt render the same result, loks good, just not like the finished look in this video (from what ive seen). thanks for watching and your feedback. you can text or call me at anytime for any further concerns 313-948-8957. take care
Hello where are you located exactly in Detroit? Also how much for something like this?

What length of hair was this? You did a wonderful job!!!
Thanks, the length of the pack. It said 24 inches on the box. I guess it's shrinkage 🥴🤣
Your welcome!!! Okay yeah it doesn't look that long, it's a perfect length though!!!
Hi I love this!! Can it be done on transitioning hair? Or relaxed hair?
Can you put a link for the hair?
A link? I have a video referencing the different brands if you'd like to look at that for further information so you can decide what to research and where to get for the best price, for you. Thanks for watching 🌹
I noticed you did her while it was wet is it bet to do it that way . Cause her texture match the extensions
Such A Natural They're beautiful. I might try them in a short version. Thanks !
Beautiful! Any suggestions on how to keep the natural hair from peeking through?
Mrs. Vick I've never experienced that problem. Following this method you shouldn't either. Thanks for watching
From my observation she did this on wet hair vs blow dried and this helps blend the hair with the braiding hair so it wont peek through.
Sharnell Grant hi dear i Definitely am working on damp hair in this video. However when i create this look either way (wet or dry) renders same end result. thanks for watching
Hi, what brand of hair did you use, I learned the hard way that not all are created equally. Thanks
ive used all of them (accessible to metro Detroit) and they can all be inconsistent. Go for the afro kinky texture and just twist before purchasing to be sure.
How many inches was her growth before adding the extensions? What’s the bare min length you would suggest for this hair style
Great question! The more loose the curl pattern the longer but kinky is ideal overall. So with kinky hair, 3 inches or longer, including hairline/edges 🌹
You did a wonderful job, plus your client has a beautiful healthy hair.
This video is the bomb thanks for posting ima going to start my locs off using this method and I love the hair excellent job
Nacole Brown thank you for tuning in and feedback. Yas perfect low maintenance starter loc set💪💪
My favorite go to style. Now I want some again!
How long did it last?
The style lasts up to 3 months. I did mention in the video but thanks for commenting 😊
@Such A Natural Sorry that question for @gonatural11 in her experience
I should've been more specific.
No problem ☺️
This is absolutely beautiful! I’m getting this soon!!
If you did this with human hair, could you possibly loc it this way?
It's a method of locking hair regardless of the type. Hair is lightweight and can be cared for as your own. Similar to human hair starter locs as twist extensions they never change from looking like twists so people grown out the roots and as the roots loc up and get longer the extensions get cut off. So if you only want to use human hair that's totally up to you but I'm just confirming the results will be the same.
Best wishes!
I'm having trouble with getting a good grip at the root on some sections of my hair. Any suggestions?
Rashida Taylor watch a few braid extension tutorials to get acquainted/comfortable with braiding in extension, then proceed with twisting down
What kind of kinky synthetic hair did you use? The hair seems way softer than your normal Marley type of hair. I’ve used a very soft natural kinky braiding hair for my kinky twist years ago but couldn’t find it since.
hi in the video i use afro kinky bulk for these two strand twist extensions. to get the finished look from this video thats what itd suggest. i use a variety of brands just be sure to twist before purchasing, some packs have been inconsistent. thanks for watching.
Such A Natural thank you for the advice and reply
Such A Natural hi Im also looking to find out what hair you use. this looks great. which brand is used?
Laura Best look above. Thanks for watching
Shantel Runai. Hi.. What does she mean by 'twisting before purchasing'..
Beautiful! What type of hair is used? I want this for my hair! What concerns should be expressed for the clients natural hair with this style?
Alesia Stanaly Hi i use afro kinky bulk hair, a variety of brands. Twist before purchasing ( mentioned in the description box )
Such A Natural What does that mean twist before purchasing?
@@trulyblessedby3 excellent question! I mean to avoid buying hair that doesn't twist properly, twist it in the beauty supply because I've had far too many cases of buying hair that is just bad, lol!
So, that's gonna save you some time and money.

@@SuchANatural thank you for clarifying.
Omg that’s so pretty!!!! I’m definitely going to try this out!!!❤️😍😍😍

Can I try this on wet hair?
There models hair is wet. I thought I stated that in the video. I could be wrong. Thanks for watching!
What brand of hair did you use for this? I’ve been trying to find some good quality
Hey check the description for the link ☺️
The client’s hair before she added the extra hair tho 🤗 it just looked so luscious…great job anyway!
you stated that the human kinky does not give the same results. What type of results does it yield? I can't use synthetic hair, breaks me out.
May want to yt search for a video on the topic 😊 thanks for tuning in 🌹
Can you keep these in and retwist the roots?
Yes actually! I speak on that, here:
ruclips.net/video/nM8JUOp4D1U/видео.html
I dont think ive done your hair but whether you decide to go with me or not, thanks for tuning in☺
Such A Natural This would be my first service with you 😊 I had this style done years ago with human hair by a natural hair stylist on Livernois. 😆
@@mzcoconut6635 say that girl😂 looking forward
Hi, why did you do it on wet hair instead of blown out hair?
sashadc3 hi.
Thanks for tuning in
Takecare
Ok thanks😊
Such A Natural why do you recommend extensions at 12+? I am considering a style like this (either twists or box braids) for my daughters, 8&9 but I don't want to do anything unhealthy for their hair.
Dangle Charms im just personally not a proponent for extensions on young ppl. Their hair (hair in general) is fragile no need in extra weight especially as active as young ppl can be.
Such A Natural Thanks for replying! That makes perfect sense. :)
If the client has relaxed hair could u still use that afro hair ?
Dazzling Jewel great question. Short answer is no. Hair would stick out and become very unruly.
If you do sports like wrestling will they come loose or with the extensions stay in?
J Jackson unless they involve the hair being pulled, or your current hair length too short/will cause slipping, you're a shoe in.
Such A Natural last question what would be considered too short
J Jackson if youve ever had extensions before, the length of hair you know the extension, obviously, wouldn't hold onto with sweat to being physically active. Hair texture adds another variable because we know short kinky hair is much different than short loose pattern.
What kind of hair is best for kinky twist?
Hello. These are two strand twist extensions, so i couldn't answer that question, due to the fact i dont offer kinky twists. However, i do discuss what hair i used in this video as well as the description box
@@SuchANatural oh OK, I thought these were kinky twist. They all look so similar. Thank you.

Hi. I love the technique. What kind/brand of hair?
Laverne Armah hi. Afro kinky bulk is what i use. A variety of brands. Look for that texture and you're good to go. Make sure you twist in pack/at register before purchase to ensure it proper as packs have been inconsistent lately
hello, do you use one "strand" of the marley hair from the pack for each twist or do you separate the "strand" of marley hair into two?? lovely twist by the way. They look so wonderful on the person. You did a great job
From A Naturals Point of View hello no Marley hair here. Afro kinky bulk is what i used. Listed in description as well as in video. Thanks for watching.
Hair can be found at local beauty supply any brand, because the texture (afro kinky bulk) is what your looking for. Twist before purchasing packs, as they can be inconsistent. Which is why online shopping isn't a go to for this, personally.

Yes. Ppl have used these as starter locs and cut the extension off after time enough, for them.

@@SuchANatural What brand if braids are you using here? My hair texture looks like this lady"s for the first week, but because I live in the tropics it tends to get dry and fuzzy and sticks out between the synthetic twists.
