Doing this this weekend. This was my go to protective style a few years ago. The best, because it lasts so long! The longer it's in the more natural it looks. You did amazing 👏👏👏👏
Tay Wilson Thank you yea with shrinkage my hair is the same length as the hair I twisted with. My hair stretched is longer so shrinkage helped with making my hair and the weave the same length.
DopeNoLye I reeeeeeeally need to thank you. I have watched many braiding vids and i never learned but yours was so simple to follow. I am proud to say i braided my entire hair because of you. Thank you
I just want to say Thank you! I’ve gone Natural, for Two yrs Now, Haven’t found a product that helps my hair, I bought everything you suggested& I absolutely love my my twist!
So glad I saw this, I got some hair extension yesterday just like yours, and today I realised that my hair was longer. So I gave up and thought I'd look around before I attempt to use them. Thanks for sharing, I'm just dreading the long hours of twisting and twisting, but ah well one twist at a time 🤗
I loveee this style on you Queen..im soo doing my hair like this today, i use to do my hair a lot and fell off, this looks fast abt 4 hrs approx and super natural looking the goal. #Teamnatural#Blackgirlsrock
This is so beautiful and easy!! I'm ready to start doing my own natural hair, I'm a bit skeptical that I can't do it, but the way you do it makes me think that I can!! But my hair shrinks so much when I wash it, will it still come out okay? And will any moisturizer work?? Thank you for giving me hope!! I'm excited about trying it.
thank you for the video especially the hair choice...ive been looking for something to be close to my natural hair texture how long do you usually keep it in?
mini indi You're so very welcome! I kept these in for about 8 weeks. 😊 I try not to keep a style like this or braids no longer than 6 to 8 weeks. I find when I go longer my hair tangles really bad. 😕
I'm trying this out this weekend. I love your hair. What styling product did you use and the brand of hair? I'm considering locs and this looks exactly how I want them.
Oh yay and thank you! I used the shea moisture Coconut & Hibiscus gel. The hair I used is from the Janet Collection Afro Kinky Bulk 24”. I also put more info in the description box of this video. I’m sure your locs will look bomb! 🙌🏽
This came out so pretty ! I saw in one of your responses you only two strand twisted? You didn’t rope twist? Do you think that gave it the juicy look? My hair looks like this when I two strand twist and this will definitely be easier if I can just two strand twist. I plan to use the invisible root method first. How does the texture of this hair compare to Cuban twist hair by equal if you are familiar. Thank you
DopeNoLye Thank you I ordered the hair. I looked for it in 4 different stores in my area and they don’t have this brand 😒The Cuban twist is my favorite for it blends perfectly with my 4c but I want something a little different for a change. 🥰
Love your hair!! Looks very Natural especially due to the length. I have some of that hair laying around and never used it. Now I think I will. How long did it take to install? Thanks for sharing!!
ResilientnBlessed Thank you! It took me 3 hours to do one side of my head and then I got lazy and did the rest the next day. But if I had did it all in one day I say it would take 6 hours total. I got the hair too short I forgot my hair is way longer than it was when I first tried this style so next time I will be getting longer hair. ☺️
Love this hair style definitely wanna try this Sunday... Now my question is could this work with Cuban twist hair or only the afro kinky hair?? Because the Cuban twist hair is kinda like Marley hair
Love love love the results! Looks great on you. After applying the product on the kinky hair, did it feel soft like your own natural hair, once you were done? Thanks for the tuto.
Pearlena Alan Good luck love and you’re welcome! If you do like your look I’d love to feature you on my IG hair page. So if that’s ok you can email pictures to dopenolye@gmail.com ..
Ok, I recently did this style and used similar hair but it was a bit longer. Great technique of moisturizing the synthetic hair as well as my hair. It was helpful ^_^
Michelle Henderson Thanks love! I would love to feature your results on my IG hair page. If you have pictures and would like to be featured, send them to my email dopenolye@gmail.com. 😜
Liyah Janell Hi love! Did you ever style your grandmother’s hair using this technique? If so and you have any pictures of it, I’d love to feature them on my IG page. Is that ok with you?
Fabn40s Hi I kept this style in for about 6 weeks. But it's really preference, because I could have kept it longer. And it took me about 5-6 hours to do these. 😊
Marcia Gipson Thanks love and I did not blow dry, because the hair is Kinky like my texture I just twisted it as it is. I'm not a fan of heat lol so I stay away from it.
DopeNoLye Thank you! I've had these before but have never done them myself. I think I'm going to try it. Did you have a parting pattern or you just grabbed sections of hair?
Marcia Gipson You're welcome and yay I'm so encouraged that you're going to try it on your own! For parting I just grabbed medium-small sections with my index finger. 🙂
This looks great! Especially this being your first time! Congrats Sis! I think you cut YOUR hair tho 😩 You mentioned the hair being shorter than your natural hair. I took notice of your hair texture (jealous btw lol). You clipped the straggle piece before installing the piece then clipped again after installation 😶 I only say this because the piece you clipped afterward appeared more like your hair than the synthetic hair. Just wanted you and your followers to be mindful of those type of accidents. Anywho.. You're probably a pro by now! I wish you happy, healthy and blessed! 😘
Thank you beautiful! And yes even if I did my hair still grew lovely afterwards. Lol it probably needed a little dusting on the ends anyway. But I now have a new cut with bangs and I’m loving it!
Thanks so much...your technique inspired me to do my first rope twist install!! It was a great success and I'm satisfied with the outcome. I used the Yahman Afro Kinky hair tho :)
DopeNoLye oh wow! You've positively caught me off guard! I took a pic when I was done, but it's not a fab looking pic like urs....more like "done and tired but satisfied" ☺...I'm currently wearing the 2nd installment but plan to redo soon using the afro kinky bulk. Where should I send you the pic?
Well my hair is longer now so I’d get the 16 in or 24 in length. But if your hair is the same length as my hair in this video then I’d recommend getting a 14 in length. I think the original length I got was 12 in and it was a little short.
katsky568 Hey beautiful! Ok so I twist firmly as I go down. You wanna make sure that your twist motion stays the same throughout the whole time you're twisting. Even when you get to the bottom. Remember to twist firm NOT tight. You wanna keep your edges lol.
I purchased the afro kinky hair & my twist came out much looser than yours. I was trying to go for the look/twist you have. I guess the afro kinky hair is different from hair to hair.
mamatosh05 Hi it could also be because of the product you used on your hair to twist. Also yes your hair texture may be contributing to it being looser. But the technique you use to twist may need to be different for your hair as well.
Georgie Bruce You should be able to find this hair in most beauty supply stores. Or you can order the hair online if you can’t find some. You’re very welcome love. 💕
Shanine Alessia Thank you love and yes the twists did shrink but only just a little. It was very natural looking. My thumbnail picture on the video is exactly how they looked once dried.
No I don’t think it’s because my hair is longer but I do think the thickness of my hair helped. Try using thicker pieces of the extensions to twists. You might also be using too much product.
@@DopeNoLye OMG this video is from back in the day lol I didn't expect you to respond so quickly. Thanks I will try it with more hair. I'm determined to get my hair like this!!!!
Lisa g-b I wore mine for about 6 weeks. You can wear them as long as you want. The longer you wear them the more natural they look. You may want to touch up the front but that's about it. The fuzzy look is what I go for when wearing this style because it looks very natural that way. If you'd like it to stay neat longer definitely wear a silk scarf to sleep and when you're home just around the house. ✨
Teish Hollis I got this hair from Elegant Beauty Supply store. If you don’t have one in your area I think you can buy online. I would just google it love. 😊
Hillary Reeves Hey so as I'm twisting I twist firmly and when I get to the bottom I twirl the ends. Also you want to make sure that the hair is moisturized enough with your styling product, this will help it dry twisted so it won't loosen.
I can't help but notice that the hair is shorter than your real hair. Also you don't twist the strands while two strand twisting the hair? Is this why the twists look more chunkier and natural than Marley twists? I like your method better because it look more natural
Temicka Noney Yes the hair is shorter but as I twist, my hair is shortened. I know this because when I get to the end of the twist there is only strings of the hair left and it’s a different feel than my hair. Yes I ago agree that not twisting as I twist is why the hair came out looking more natural and full.
DopeNoLye ok I was going to try the invisible root method at the root and then regular twist the rest. I wonder if it will still come out the same? Can you wash your hair with your twists still installed?
Temicka Noney Hey Yea I say go for it girl! And yea you can wash it but I wouldn’t rub the twists too much and mainly just focus on your scalp to clean. The twists should be just fine with just rinsing them with water and the suds from your scalp.
Temicka Noney LoL that’s really good! Yea I had bought 3 and only used 2 and a half. But you should be able to return or exchange the other 3 you didn’t use. Also I’d love to feature you on my IG with a picture of your hair style! Is that ok with you?
@@DopeNoLye honestly I have no idea lmao!!! This is my first time adding hair to my twists.. when i twist my natural hair the twist are juicy, when i add in the hair I don't even know how to describe what it looks like........ not juicy though lol
Doing this this weekend. This was my go to protective style a few years ago. The best, because it lasts so long! The longer it's in the more natural it looks. You did amazing 👏👏👏👏
Camille Francis Yes I agree I love this style for the same reason! Thank you! 💕
Sis these twists look so juicy and natural !! Good job 👏🏾❤️
Welcome love ! I’ll be tuned in .
Pretty! This looks like a cute summer style
I've been looking for this video for so long. I had it and lost it. So happy I got it back!!!
Very nice tutorial. I love how you got to the point and it wasn't about you making duck lips at the camera. I can't wait to try this. Thank you!!
You’re very welcome! And yess even I get annoyed with too much talking at the beginning of videos. Glad you found this tutorial helpful! 💕
i love how you follow your actual hair length
Tay Wilson Thank you yea with shrinkage my hair is the same length as the hair I twisted with. My hair stretched is longer so shrinkage helped with making my hair and the weave the same length.
you should totally add "natural" to the title because it looks like your real hair
Tay Wilson Aww thank you so much I think I will do that! That's a great idea. 😊
DopeNoLye I reeeeeeeally need to thank you. I have watched many braiding vids and i never learned but yours was so simple to follow. I am proud to say i braided my entire hair because of you. Thank you

When you took your bonnet off I thought that was the hairdo ...It was already pretty
Shayla alyahS Thank you! 💕
Exactly. Looking at your natural hair it looks kinky twisted already. Thanks for sharing
This is EXACTLY what I want to do with my hair! Thank you so much for this video!
I See Melanie You’re very welcome! 💕
It turned out very cute and natural looking. Great job.
Anna's World Aw thank you! 🙂

Crystal Tyler Thank you love! 😊
you're pretty i love those twist on you. you'd look good with locs
Big Fletch Thank you very much! 😊
Big Fletch v
You make this type of hair look so easy to use. I've used this in the past and it didn't turn out like this. Great advice will try.
It is easy it just all depends on your technique used. Good luck hun ☺️.
Super cute!!! Trying this tomorrow
Dynamic 4C Yay! If you have a IG, send me a picture of your finished look. I'd love to feature you and post it on my page for trying it. 😊

soundiva22 Aw this comment is so encouraging. You can do anything you put effort into love. I’m glad you’re inspired to try it for yourself! 💕
soundiva22 And yes you can do this style on shrunken hair and any moisturizer should work fine. 😊

Oh ok thats not bad at all. Oh yeah thats true. But you can probably try it via crochet too, right? Either way, I love your style!! =)
ResilientnBlessed Thank you love and yes Kinky Twists can be done crochet. I haven't learned crochet yet but it's on my bucket list. 😊
How long did it take? I can't see the reply.
i see it now
Not sure if you will even see this, but can the end of this hair be curled at all?
Hey love I haven’t tried it so I’m not sure. But I’m all for you trying it out! 🙂
Love this hair style definitely wanna try this Sunday... Now my question is could this work with Cuban twist hair or only the afro kinky hair?? Because the Cuban twist hair is kinda like Marley hair
MZ.B00N3THAQU33N Thank you. For me it’s only worked with this hair. 😊
DopeNoLye ok thanks
I love it they look natural.
Dona Scott Woo hoo thank you 🙌🏽
Love love love the results! Looks great on you. After applying the product on the kinky hair, did it feel soft like your own natural hair, once you were done? Thanks for the tuto.
Pearlena Alan Hi thanks so much! And it was not as soft as my hair but it was softer than it just being dry before putting product on it.
DopeNoLye ok thanks, I'm gonna give it a try! wish me luck lol. Ty for replying, I hate when people do a tutorial and don't respond to questions.
Pearlena Alan Good luck love and you’re welcome! If you do like your look I’d love to feature you on my IG hair page. So if that’s ok you can email pictures to dopenolye@gmail.com ..
DopeNoLye sure I'd love that! It won't be right away but it will be in the next couple of weeks, I will be sure to keep you informed : )
Pearlena Alan Sounds good! 😊
Very nice. I'm trying twist with Marley braids on my natural hair tomorrow.
Eruvwu Obuaya Awesome! Sounds so fun, I hope my video helps you. 😊
Awesome video! How many pieces did you cut the synthetic hair into?
Thanks hun! I did not have to cut this hair because it was short enough. I only cut the tip of straight hair off and then used the rest to twist.
How many packs did you use. I like the fullness of yours
Damali Lewis Thank you. I used two and a half packs.
These look so good. I'm doing some for my gma & this tutorial really helped out a lot🙌🏾
Liyah J. Aw yay! I love to hear things like this. I'm sure she'll love the style. 😊
Liyah Janell Hi love! Did you ever style your grandmother’s hair using this technique? If so and you have any pictures of it, I’d love to feature them on my IG page. Is that ok with you?
Hey can u pls clarify: it’s a 2 in 1 pack so did you buy just two packs or 3?
Hey love! It was a while ago but I think I bought 3 and only used 2 and a half of a pack. 🙂
How long do you keep this style in, and how long was the install? Thanks!!
Fabn40s Hi I kept this style in for about 6 weeks. But it's really preference, because I could have kept it longer. And it took me about 5-6 hours to do these. 😊
Great tutorial... Did you blow dry your hair first or did you twist from your natural texture? My hair has serious shrinkage...
DopeNoLye Thank you! You have been very helpful! 😊 I'll let you know how it turns out 😊
Marcia Gipson Awesome! Yes please let me know. 😃
I freaking Love It! I'm going to do it this week. Did you cut the pack in half?
Danielle Crawford Yay that's great! No I didn't cut the pack in half I just folded it in half to twist.
Danielle Crawford Hi if you tried this style and have pictures of it, I’d love to feature them on my IG hair page. Is that ok with you?
I love this hair , good job . Could you please give me the link to where you bought it . Thanks
sylla zaharaou Hi I got this hair from my local beauty supply store. You should find it at yours as well.
How many packs did you use ... Thank You your hair look great.
Linda Jones Thank you. I used 2 and a half packs.
I ABSOLUTELY love this... great job!
adrian hill Thank you. 🙂
African people are some damn good looking set of people
This looks great!
Lisa Williams-Walker Wow that's so awesome and encouraging. Thanks so much for watching and for your feedback! 😊
Lisa Williams-Walker Hi love! Do you have any pictures from the rope twists you did? I’d love to feature them on my IG.
Lisa Williams-Walker Yay! You can email it to me at dopenolye@gmail.com 🙌🏽. Do you also have a IG I can tag your name if you like.
DopeNoLye Ok, will do...yes, I have an IG account, but I dont really use it ☺
Great technique. Will surely try out
Thanks! How did it work for you?
DopeNoLye I can definitely start a twist thanks to your vid. I used your method to renew my egdes
Love it!!! Thanks for sharing. I will try👍✌
wandra evans You're welcome love! Thanks for watching. 😜
wandra evans Hi did you ever try this style? If so and you have pictures, I’d love to feature you on my IG page. Is that ok?
Yes, very nice. Thank you for sharing.
Ok girl... one last question lol. How did you part?
Pearlena Alan Hey I just parted with my fingers. I’m not big on super neat parts. 😊
Love the twist💕
I’m going to try it
Very pretty! I think I can actually do this!
alicia trotter Yess you can!
What length would you recommend if this length was too short for you? My hair is about the same length as yours
Well my hair is longer now so I’d get the 16 in or 24 in length. But if your hair is the same length as my hair in this video then I’d recommend getting a 14 in length. I think the original length I got was 12 in and it was a little short.
Hey Shenique you did a really good job. Btw this is Skyrie. My question is how you got the twist to look so tight?
katsky568 Hey beautiful! Ok so I twist firmly as I go down. You wanna make sure that your twist motion stays the same throughout the whole time you're twisting. Even when you get to the bottom. Remember to twist firm NOT tight. You wanna keep your edges lol.
lol thanks
katsky568 You're welcome. 😊
Your Hair is already beautiful.
Thanks so much! 💕
Great job! I love the results 🖒🖒
MyNaturalMyChoice Thank you beautiful! 😊
How long do you keep these in, and do you wash them? Thanks!!
Fabn40s I only keep protective styles in from 3 to 6 weeks. These specifically I kept in for about a month. I did not wash them.
DopeNoLye You know, that just might be the case. I used the Hawaiian Activator gel. Trying to soften up the hair.
Thanks for replying.
mamatosh05 Yea of course, you’re welcome. I say try a different gel. The product Jam is pretty good as well it’s a thicker consistency.
DopeNoLye, where can I buy this hair that you’re using in this video? Thank you for sharing also.
Georgie Bruce You should be able to find this hair in most beauty supply stores. Or you can order the hair online if you can’t find some. You’re very welcome love. 💕
DopeNoLye thank you. I’m in the first phase of transitioning back to my natural hair and want to do this style.
Georgie Bruce You’re so welcome! Yes give it a try I’m sure you’ll love this style.
Wow! I love this technique you look beautiful. Did the twist shrink at all since u did it on semi wet hair with the product application?
Shanine Alessia Thank you love and yes the twists did shrink but only just a little. It was very natural looking. My thumbnail picture on the video is exactly how they looked once dried.
loves your eyes
Beautiful Love your results ❤
ESSENCE 1908 Thank you 💕😊
You showed how you were going to do the plait at the front of your head but you did one lil further in is that the same length of the one you showed
Eve Yes all my hair in the front is pretty much the same length. My hair shrinks as I twist so the hair is twisted up into the twist and protected.
What's d name of d product ...d cream u use to cream d hair b4 starting twist
Hi love, I don’t remember it off the top of my head but everything is listed in the description box.
How long did this take you?
I love it!
Can I use this method to start locs?
Beautiful hairstyle
Keeshler Pittman Thanks hun! 💕
Hi my hair is short now used to be long can this grow my hair back
I used the same products, same hair.....mine are coming out so thin. Is it because your hair is longer?
No I don’t think it’s because my hair is longer but I do think the thickness of my hair helped. Try using thicker pieces of the extensions to twists. You might also be using too much product.
@@DopeNoLye OMG this video is from back in the day lol I didn't expect you to respond so quickly. Thanks I will try it with more hair. I'm determined to get my hair like this!!!!
Thank you lol. You’re very welcome! Good luck. 😊
Did nd get the brand name of the hair you are using tks
Awesome job
Thank you 🤗
You’re welcome! 🙂
how long did your style last?
Katrina O I kept these in for 6 weeks. 😊
Thanks will try this style on my girls. You did a great job.
Katrina O Aww that's so exciting! Thank you so much. 😃
Do you twist the strands before you cross them over
Valerie Herron Hi no I don't twist them before I twist I just two strand twist.
DopeNoLye THANK YOU YOUNG LADY
Valerie Herron You're very welcome.
How many packs did u use?
QueenBean I used 2 and a half packs. 😊
Do you have to dip the Hair in hot water after?
shapal74 Hi no the hair because of the products I used is moveable and shrinks a little to help it look more natural.
DopeNoLye - thank you! It looks great😊
Has anyone told you that you resemble LONGHAIRDONTCARE? She pasted away several years ago from Lupus. Super nice person.
Yes I’ve been told that quite a few times. I didn’t know of her but from what everyone says she was beautiful & a sweet heart.
Yes. I Believe you have the same sweet spirit. Happy New year and thank you for the tutorials.
How long can you wear these?? I love 'em. I twist my own hair - it gets fuzzy after two weeks. I'd like to wear those for about a month or so.
Your hair is already thick and beautiful before you put the kinky twists in.

Thnk u so much
Teish Hollis You’re very welcome.
Excellent
how do you get your twists to not unravel??
Hillary Reeves Hey so as I'm twisting I twist firmly and when I get to the bottom I twirl the ends. Also you want to make sure that the hair is moisturized enough with your styling product, this will help it dry twisted so it won't loosen.
💘 it
Michelle Graham Thank you! 🙂
I love your name! New subbie
Danii Elle Thanks for the support love! 💕
Woah I thought your hair in the beginning was the hairstyle
Lol nope!

DopeNoLye ok
I was going to try the invisible root method at the root and then regular twist the rest.
I just finished my twists and brought 4 packs and costs 54 dollars 😑😑😑
I ended up only using 1 pack of damn hair girl! Lol
Temicka Noney LoL that’s really good! Yea I had bought 3 and only used 2 and a half. But you should be able to return or exchange the other 3 you didn’t use. Also I’d love to feature you on my IG with a picture of your hair style! Is that ok with you?
My twists arent coming out as juicy as yours 😭😭
Brigette Hourigan Oh no are they a good size? Mine are parted medium sized.
@@DopeNoLye honestly I have no idea lmao!!! This is my first time adding hair to my twists.. when i twist my natural hair the twist are juicy, when i add in the hair I don't even know how to describe what it looks like........ not juicy though lol
Brigette Hourigan are you using the same brand of hair?
@@DopeNoLye yes. Does it matter if I twist to the left or right??
il est possible
il est possible😉😉
I feel like you cut your hair 😲
Lol I didn’t and even if I did it was less than a fourth of an inch. I had great length retention from this style.
Your hair is sooo beautiful! I was kinda sad if any was left behind🤗. No shade! ☺️
I wasn’t offended at all. Thanks so much love 💕.
Mask stick
So this is not your real hair 😱😱😱
Lol nope
