I've had my 2022 Taycan for almost a year now and it's been a great first electric car. Coming from an obnoxious Audi RS3, I do sometimes miss noise but the handling with the air suspension is unreal, and for city driving it's fast enough.
Regarding regeneration, you were in the wrong mode this is way it was sailing (per design). There is a function that enables dynamic recuperation (not as pronounced as a traditional one-pedal).
13:10 correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Porsche say the car uses first gear only for launch control, and otherwise always stays in second? Same with the Audi e-tron GT, its sister car.
No. The second gear enters around 90 KM/h when you are in normal mode (during acceleration). While cruising the second gear enters sooner depending on different dynamics factors. In sport mode stays in first a bit longer, just close to 100 km/h, the same during launch control. Cheers.
Havent tested myself yet but i read on Taycan forums that there is a misunderstanding about launch control. Apparently you can do it without the Sports chrono package. Im going to test it today
It's all in the steering feel for the Taycan. Tons of communication gives you more confidence as a driver. The i4 and M3P are smaller and lighter, so they feel snappier in corners.
@@hunterrrdrives Wrong. People buy the 911 specialty cars knowing they will go up in value. Check the price of the Speedster from a few years ago and the 911 touring. But this is a base model Taycan and the E tron GT blows this out of the water. People are buying this for value just to say they have a Porsche. But it ain’t even on the same planet as a 911.
They are optional, nothing is basic in a Porsche. There are a lot of things you can change in a Porsche. Including handling materials. This Porsche has the "leather free package" option. Hope our dear grandpa learns more about Porsche style ✌️
I would never buy a car with no window frame..so much safety is out the window if you got tboned..zero impact buffer around head where most important.(besides airbag)
It is easier to break out of in case you are stuck in the vehicle under water or in a fire. Good luck breaking a laminated glass window with a frame...
Even if I could afford it I would not buy it. I would rather put my money into a GT3 or GT3RS. EV's like this are for Hollywood celebs😅 I prefer my cars to make true exhaust sounds.
Only with how this particular Taycan was equipped. I've been in ones that are optioned with high-value (to me) items and lower price tags. Those are a better sale.
It’s all digital and I’m not trying to be rude or anything but if the digital speedometer goes out then you literally can’t drive cause you don’t know how fast your going but hey

Good insight as an owner, thank you!
Why was your RS3 obnoxious?
@@amiller2121 it was loud with pops & bangs (modified + tuned). I loved the car though, Taycan is just a few classes above it.
MPH, you rock!! Superb POV drive review of the Porsche Taycan RWD. I enjoyed the ride.
My first all-electric car!! Great video Miles.
Nice! Hope you enjoy yours 👍
11:35 the tesla really showed how fast the porche was😂

Was thinking the same
It looks much more beautiful than e-tron GT imo

That would explain why I didn't feel the shift 😆

Who the most underrated auto reviewer? MilesPerHr, of course.
The Taycan for me 100%❤❤❤
Safe Journey!
CHOLULA!!!
My Taycan just turns on when I get inside, only have to use button to turn off

I can confirm you do no need sport chrono, just sport.
So do you like this better than the 4S?
I think taycan look better but I don’t mind if I had one of them😎🥰😊😊
Amazing😍🤞
I love the look of the Taycan as an electric Porsche. How does the RWD or AMD Taycan feel compared to Model 3 Performance and BMW i4 around turns?

Where is this? It is beautiful...
The front of the audi is better but the rear of the porsche is better in my opinion
OC rules!
How pronounced is the road noise?
I've read that it's quiet inside.
The taycan defo looks more mature than the etron gt
No glovebox?
E tron looks way better, way more character while porsche is more understated
Not sure how the sluggishness of the infotainment isn’t considered completely inexcusable.
Much better then audi e tron gt
11:32 _On your left!_
11:31 tesla 💀
It was rolling
unfortunatelly this car cost another 6750 pln than etron 623 00 pln
how do you want a sexy car and at the same time want it to be comfortable in the back. its like walking and biking at the same time, not possible
il take audi exterior with porsche interior
"Not all can afford" as if I haven't seen at least 10 of them the last week
Bro where do you live? I'm in New York where granted the amount of electric cars are a lot lower, but I still have never seen this car in real life
You're in NY, that explains it. I'm in Norway, a rich country with the most EV sales. I'm lucky to be here, I shouldn't brag
Awesome car
They can't put real leather, or even heated and vented rear seats for a 111K car?

The design and manufacturing of this car reduced the customers needs.
The real cup holder looks extremely cheap it doesn't look like it belongs in a car of this class

Whilst I agree, you’d have to be spending 60 grand more for a GT3 series. Of course if able to find an allocation…
@@307skylake7 Thought about that 😅 but still I would be happy even with a 991.1 or 991.2
