Man, each of these characters are so OP in their own way, I love it. I'll bet while playing, you'll always be like "Man, that other character is just so OP, I wish I had their abilities instead!" But I think Digur would be the most brutal player to use.
I plan on printing out all of these backstories to have next to me for a reference point while playing the console edition! Except our printer is out of ink, so I will be handwriting them on xerox paper.
While the asymmetric abilities are indeed nearly game-breaking, I can’t believe you didn’t once mention all the other gameplay changes. This almost seems like a completely different game compared to the Catan we know and love from one of your earlier videos!
Huge credit to dovetail for sponsoring our favourite guide youtuber. I don't see anyone else talking about the abilities. I know that Catan is a game for wargamer elitists, but not everyone can learn such intricate rules so quickly, bravo Dragon's tomb!
excellent as always but 'aks' is not "pronouncing it wrong" - it's an english dialect. perpetuating it as "incorrect" or stereotyping those with that dialect as "wrong" is detrimental.
I love variable player powers! What a great addition to Catan digital
Can multiple players choose the same character for a symmetrical game?
Can you provide some sort of cheat sheet for abilities? This seems like a lot to remember.
It should be OK, I trust the developers’ ability to provide reminders through subtle UI elements.

Catan has the most ethnically diverse group of characters. /s
It looks like there is a character called THEDRAGONSTOMB which you didn't cover. What is their backstory and asymmetric ability?

These asym powers are Epic! I'm totally going to pwn my opponent with Hilda's battle aks.
I'm pretty sure use of the word "pwn" was patched out a long time ago. Thankfully, Hilda's aks makes this aspect of the game a breeze to hack into.
Ryan's power seems way overpowered. I won't be playing this game until they nerf it. Did they even playtest this??

Hilda is so OP. Seeds to nerfed ASAP
Does this edition make use of a phone camera to see who’s the tallest player? Otherwise who would go first?
Seems unbalanced, game is broken
excellent as always

I agree! It is sad Catan chose to go in this direction :(
Are the 2016 Chevy Malibus only available in-game or is there a way to earn one IRL through tournament play or something?
What's the lore for Jeff? I selected Jeff and in addition to his picture appearing in the character window my PS5 filled with jam.
I would love to have those asymmetric powers while not playing.
RIP Creator of Catan
Always get a good laugh out of these. Thanks man!
