This NONPROFIT video
This is one of Delta’s very few (4) nicer “used” 737-800s, which originally belonged to GOL. They are 737-800s with the Boeing SKY interior and headrests on the seats, like their 737-900s all have. Other Delta 737-800s were made between 1997 and 2001, (maybe into ‘02) and feature the more conventional 2000s interior, with the square windows and the bins that open upwards. They also don’t have adjustable head rests, and some of the 2001 ones have tiny IFE screens. All except one, which I hear has a prototype for a new interior very much like these.
I took this same flight (and the flight back to Seattle for a return trip) A few months prior to this video being shot, in economy. Unfortunately, the planes on my flights (tail no. N384DA, N388DA), though also 737-800s, were much older. (1999 and 2000.) The interiors, though the new seat cushions and seatback screens looked like a similar design, were obviously the older seats in disguise, which lack head rests, even in first. They also had the less spacious old downward-closing luggage bins. They were clean and functional, so I can’t complain. I can’t say the same for the 2001 built -800s, which I flew most recently SEA-ORD and back. These have the original IFE that’s aging and seemingly broken half the time. It was broken on my flight there (tail no. N3749D) but it worked okay on my flight back (tail no. N3761R.)
