    The card is healthy in a vacuum where everyone has access to it but that just isn’t the reality and not enough content creators are willing to speak about that because they themselves have access to the card so it’s not an issue that affects them

      This ! ^ i also told this in my friend group. Should’ve been a super with the qcr possibility for people who want to pay more for the bling. Would have been an expensive super but accessibility would go up

    • @shadowrabbitygo
      @shadowrabbitygo  2 месяца назад +2

      I’m pretty sure you missed all of the times content creators address the matter of cost and prices. Even when we do have access to certain cards. But think about it, many competitive players are gonna invest into expensive cards cause they want to play competitively, have that edge and are going to actually attend multiple events as well. Invest into a card if you know it’s gonna be worth it. If not, you can still proxy for casual matches or play on Duelingbook. Card design of Charmies is healthy imo. And that’s what the video is about, nothing more.

    • @ascalone3894
      @ascalone3894 2 месяца назад +2

      @shadowrabbitygo most content creators don’t talk about it aside from a brief “the only unfair part about x is the price but that’s a different discussion” followed by them never addressing the issue again. I’m not demonizing anyone who chooses to buy the card(s) - if you have the money and want/need to buy them then more power to you. I’m just saying that for the vast majority of people playing it creates a frustrating dynamic where you have to pass the “are you poor” check to play the game

      @@ascalone3894 which I completely understand and dislike about the matter but what frustrates me is trying to have an interesting discussion about card design and people seeing only the price. I’ve talked a lot about those issues and potential solutions in my videos about the game dying out.

    They might be healthy if they were commons. Realistically they could be healthy on the metagame at the highest level, but they're going to end up causing a lot of players to leave the game due to the price.

    I agree that theyre overall pretty fair/balanced cards, and definitely help going second whether that be slowing down turn 0, or giving you a chance to have enough cards to deal with an oppressive ass end board. And in all honesty i think playing around one or the other is manageable, i start to struggle when they open one of each...i guess i think its a little over the top that you can activate two of them in a turn anyway lol but the pros by far outweigh that single complaint.

    I completely disagree with the second point. In oder for these cards to be healthy, there needs to be less direct outs.
    How can it check the things it is supposed to check if they can just jam in an enough number of outs? That's the mini game we do not want.
    What we need are NOT outs like dumb cards like Called By but more viable plan B plays. IP pass. Rabbit pass. 2 specials for 2 interruptions and the like. Decks that can't live with with making moderate boards but only want to make FTK boards should be punished. That's the whole idea.

  • @nikkocasa1234

    Well they fix nothing, the entire situation is just draw the out.
    They are just another out that if you don't draw them well suck for you.
    All the maxx c minigame is just a toxic mechanic of the ocg game that we don't need.
    We needed deck to be less explosive and endboard more easy to break with your deck engine not solutions to to problems that shouldn't have been there in the first place.

      Me talking about why the card is healthy from the perspective of game design has nothing to do with the price of the card. Charmies are in fact healthy for Yu-Gi-Oh!. Yes, they cost a lot of money. But the design of the cards would be good even if the price was $5.

      @@shadowrabbitygo Wtf? Bro i was talking about the title. That sentence is the title. The title says its healthy for yugioh not for the game design and no its not healthy for the whole of yugioh because its basicaly just: "Hey, you can play a more balanced game but you have to spend 400$ more no matter what deck you wanna play." And thats not good game design its just scamming the fans. Btw good how you didnt even seem to understand my point because it would be insanely great if that card would cost 5$ because that would make a balanced game achievable for everyone

      @@Lmaocario yup it would be great but my title is worded that way for a reason, it’s a title for a yt video lmao, the fact you’re actually nitpicking is cringe when clearly it’s just a title and I do talk about game design, what would be a better title lol . Game design has nothing to do with the price when u can literally jump on rated with 3 Charmies in main and experience a more balanced game. Like .. what? Yugioh is Yugioh. You don’t have to buy cards to play the game or discuss how healthy it is. It’s a completely different topic, which I do go into in some of my other videos, along with ideas for how it could be improved but people seem to forget u can play this game just for what it is. • @Alex-Omega
      @Alex-Omega 2 месяца назад

      @@realpatriot1769 By now, Im not even sure anymore if theyre good side deck cards. You only benefit from them if you draw into further handtraps.
      But since everyone can counter these cards or play around anyway, you mostly end up with less cards in hand and your opponment can still play while you have no handtraps or board breakers.
      There are so many good cards you could play instad that would help you right away, I really struggle with the Mulcharmies... but not the way I thought I would :P

  • @fenrisnox5766

    I think if everyone at every locals was playing competitive and all had access to mulcharmys I would be more likely to agree.
    Unfortunately not everyone is capable of affording, let alone playing Diabellstar lore turbo (snake-eye azamina) or any other pick of fiendsmith splashed meta contender.
    While I think Mulcharmys are more balanced than Maxx "C" but a more balanced Maxx "C" still doesn't seem healthy for the game to me, especially when there's people who can't afford it and/or have to get extremely lucky with packs. (the constant powercreeping every couple sets isn't healthy either, but that is a completely different can of worms)
    For example, as a Trickstar player, I actually have an advantage against both Purulia and Fuwalos on paper to the point if my opponent uses both I could possibly deck them out trying to reincarnation lock provided I don't just burn them out before they start their turn (this heavily relies on the new support) but that just on paper. In other words: theoretical provided everything goes right. The thing is, it never happens like that in any tournament.
    It's also not healthy for the game when you have locals so severely dominated by competitve players that what few more casual players at that locals can't even hope to do anything and eventually just give up on the game. I've reached that point and now the only way I even interact with the game is Edison format or videos on it, provided I interact at all, and I'm someone who somehow got into the game and stuck with it when Block Adamancipator existed. My first locals experience was getting overkilled by the likes of Scrap Orcust, Block Adamancipator, and Dino Bishbaalkin ftk. That last one continued to play and BM after I said "I scooped" several times. What was I playing? 3 Ice Barrier Structures and whatever handtraps and other staples I could scrounge from packs. The fact I sat through that somehow but only now am deciding to give up on the game is telling.
    Tl;Dr: in theory mulcharmys are healthy, but not in practice. Not with all the factors in play.

Everyone who chooses to spend on YuGiOh! does so cause they want to play competitively. Which is fine. But YuGiOh! as a *game* not the competitive meta game doesn’t cost much if u want to either play with friends, play retro formats or grind Master Duel. And me even having to explain that to you is silly. The card design on Charmies is good. That’s what the point of this video is, in case you missed it. That has nothing to do with how much they cost. Zero. It’s just sad you’re incapable of having a decent human conversation about a topic because it incidentally includes money.

    2. If Konami would design their game correctly they wouldn't have to make a card like Mulcharmy.
    3. Lingering effect have been shown to be extremely oppressive and players don't want them. Droll, Shifter, VFD, and more have been called to get banned.
