So, for context: Helena was playing Narcisa, a Brazilian socialite known for being clueless and acting kinda crazy, but always in a loving funny way. Helena NAILED IT. It was like she was Narcisa herself. Shannon Skarlet played as Ines Brasil, she's an Brasilian icon dancer and performer known for her signature look and for her catch phrases, she also worked as prostitute for many years in Germany before coming back to Brazil. Unfortunately, Shannon didn't serve not even 50% of Ines Brasil, she's very out there and out loud and have this crazy funny personality that would demand Shannon to give a lot more to her performance. It was okay, overall though. Dallas played as Dilma Roussef, Brazil's first female ex president known for her unique speeches and way of talking - which Dallas got on point! A great night for her in the snatch game, a disaster in the runaway. Rubi was playing Marília Gabriela, Brazil's most famous interviewer which hosted for many years one of these talkshows where she interviewed famous people. Marília have a too specific type of voice and way of speaking and it was a slippery choice, which didn't pay off for Rubi in the end. Naza played Márcia Sensitiva, a Brazilian 'psychic' that is know for her aggressive bursts while speaking that come out of nowhere. Naza started good, she got the looks, but couldn't hold in character. Organzza played as Maria Bethânia, one of Brazil's most famous and iconic singers and loved by a great part of Brazil's LGBTQ+ community - unfortunately it's not very easy to make Maria Bethânia look funny since she have more of a dramatic and poetic aura about here, and it ended up being a 'meh' performance from Organzza. Miranda came as Paola Carosela, an Argentine chef that was host on Brazil's MasterChef for many years and is a dear for many brazilians. There was a gossip some time ago that she was a lesbian apparently - which she never said she was - so Miranda decided to play a bit with that, which was clever in my opinion, since Paola is not a comedy icon, so there wasn't much material to work with. A safe performance, but that could have gone really awkward if done wrong. Points to Miranda for doing Paola justice. And last but not least there was Betina playing a Brazilian meme Regina Rouca, which goes as something like Hoarse Regina. Regina is a regular Brazilian lady known for her rasp voice and for smoking a lot - she became quite popular doing reels during the pandemics saying some daily thoughts or 'words of wisdom' but always with some sort of twist on it. A funny performance from Betina that made justice to Regina's content. Hope to have helped! 💖

Very good explanation!! I Just disagree a little bit about Paola Carossela done by Miranda. I love Paola and I think Miranda wasnt consistent with the argentinian accent and her maneirism, could be much better, but she had funny and clever comebacks of course
Just to add up: Paola is known for having a lot of Masterchef Contestants thirsting over her, especially the female ones, she is a celebrity crush for sure.
Inês is one of our meme queen (along with Tulla Luana, Gretchen) and she is known for being really competitive, her first viral meme was her tape trying to get on Big Brother Brasil so Shannon should've really played with that.

Grag paid a tribute to "Elke Maravilha", a queer icon in Brazil. Elke was a woman actress, guest judge and performer in many TV shows. She was known for her extravagant and out of the box looks, all the way since the 70s. And, on a side note, the outfit is a original one - Grag obtained it from a personal collection of Elke's belongings. To me, a complete shoot, as Elke is a huge icon in our country.

about the “Taubaté’s pregnant” who was mentioned and referenced in the mini challenge, it is a woman from a city called Taubaté here in Brazil who in 2012 pretended to be pregnant with a huge belly like the one the queens used and she claimed to be quadruplets. She gave several interviews on Brazilian TV programs until they discovered it was all a hoax.

So for the Brazilians, the snatch was very good because most of them did a great job of imitating in terms of mannerisms, voice and character. But Helena turned out exactly LIKE Narcissa (if you search "Narcissa's melhores momentos" you will see that she was the same)

For the runway, they were supposed to portray a version of Carmen Miranda (a famous vaudevillian singer and actress who “put Brazil in the map” on Hollywood’s golden age).
Carmen always carried her signature headpiece, which was a basket of bananas and other tropical fruits. The dresses’ silhouette were also her staple, with the side cut, so she’d show her leg and heels. ❤

Regarding Miranda Lebrao's last joke playing Paola Carosela, she said the word "faxina" and it sounded like "vagina" in Portuguese. It's a joke about Paola's accent because she's argentinian.

Shannon's look also has a lot of meaning behind it and is part of Brazil's history! She looks like that because she represents black washerwomen in colonial and imperial times in Brazil! Laundresses were women enslaved by the Portuguese who worked exclusively to wash their masters' clothes. She would take some kind of basket and put her dirty clothes on her head. And they went to the banks of the river to wash their clothes, washerwomen continued to exist in the interior of Brazil long after the end of slavery! In other words, it's a look that carries a lot of weight, culturally speaking.

Narcisa is a coocoo crazy socialite and she did AMAZING, Inês Brasil became famous with her auditioning tapes for Big Brother Brasil but never got It cause shes too wilde for that, Dilma is our former president and Dallas also did an INCREDIBLE job, Marília Gabriela is a Interview journalist, Márcia sensitiva is a celebrity for being this energy and spirits coach, Maria Betânia is one of our greatest singers of all time, Paola is a former Masterchef BR judge and last but not least Regina Rouca is known in the BR tiktok and became very famous during the pandemic era and shes mostly known by giving advices with her hoarse cig voice

I think it was an amazing Snatch Game for all brazilian fans! Knowing all the characters and understanding all the jokes (including when and why they didn't land) was like a dream come true.
The entire episode was full of references that only brazilian people could understand, I guess. Including the discussion about our Public Health System, which is so amazing and saves lots of lives. It was really touching.

As a Brazilian, it was the episode that we in the fandom were very excited about because it's something we've been waiting for since I understand myself as a fan of Drag Race! And as I said in the other comment: it was one and It was an episode 100% dedicated to us Brazilian fans, which was our demand that Drag Race Brasil literally be a version for Brazilians where we can see our culture, Our references, styles and experiences! When there is a language barrier that leaves me questioning what is going on and is what's going on funny, I always try to watch the judges the host and the other contestants. If they are laughing and playing back and forth with that person than that lets me know that they are doing good. I try to read the subtitles but as everyone knows a lot gets Lost in translation. The mini challengd is based in a meme called "preggnet of Tabaute" (a city here in Brazil). It was a crazy as hell! It happend in 2008. The woman called the imprese to noticide a fake preggnet of 8 babys. The chanell thats shows was Record Tv. A lot of people send money for her and all the family lied to all Brazil.
The joke about “faxina” is actually about “vagina” she is playing a Agentinian famous ex masterchef judge from Brazil. So it’s like she has an accent to talk (vagina). And “faxina” actually means clean up.

So, about Shanon's look, I'm doing an abridged version here but basically she is representing a "lavadeira", they were poor women who would wash clothes for money on rivers and ponds and the way shanon is holding the clothing basket on her head is very much proposital and it does match how it would often look. I'm from a really small and poor part of brasil as recente as when my mother was a teenager it was still common for women to go rivers and ponds to wash clothes and get drinking water and they would carry a lot of stuff on their head, I stil remember my grandma bringing a bucket of water on her head for us to drink.

Hey Valery! The Snatch Game undoubtedly brought Brazilian icons: Narcisa Tamborindeguy is a somewhat crazy socialite who most of the time makes people laugh. Inês Brasil and Regina Rouca are internet personalities who became a meme for a while. Dilma Rouseff was our first woman to preside over the Brazilian republic. Marília Gabriela is a very famous talk show host. Márcia Sensitiva is an astrologer who has some "outbreaks" during her radio show. Maria Bethânia is a famous Brazilian popular music singer and Paolla Carosella is an Argentine chef who became famous after being a judge on a culinary reality show, but who demonstrated a very irreverent personality outside the show and became beloved among Brazilians. All of them made identical gestures to the famous ones. It was really good to watch. Too bad Naza and Rubi weren't lucky and weren't fun.

It was a good Snatch Game. A lot of memes among the characters. Dallas used a bunch of memes from Dilma who is our former president. Malditta scared me with the accuracy on her act. I definitely encourage you to look for memes from Ines Brasil and Narcisa. Some of the jokes got lost on translating them.

My impression is that this snatch game was one of the best of the whole franchise, Hellena nailed all Narcisa's manerisms, she is a brazilian socialite, very energetic. Dallas as Dilma, the first brazilian female president was phenomenal, all the catch phrases, all the expressions. Miranda was Paola, an argentine chef that lives in Brazil, her caracterization was fine but she is so good at comedy an such a good actress that her performance was also something extra. Betina was really comitet to the character and the voice and did a realy good job doing Regina Rouca, a brazilian meme celebrity on tik tok because of her Voice. Organzza also did a good job acting but the comedy was lacking for me, she just stud there and that was it, but Maria Betânia, one of Brazil's legendary singers, is a tough choice. Shannon did what Inês do phisicaly, but there were so many catch phrases, so many thing that made Inês Brasil a pop icon that she didn't do. NAZA's Márcia Sensitiva, a paranormal that has a rádio show where she recive calls and questions and answer them with a sarcastic mood, were lacking in so many aspects, voice, acting, catch phrases, jokes, she is so explosive and genuine but NAZA did't made her justice. Rubi was great with the voice, but she took too long to make a joke and wasn't that good, and Marília Gabriela, a brazilian interviewer that has interviewed a huge number of internacional celebrities, hates when someone imitates her. Sorry for my bad english, but i hope it helped you to understand a little bit more about us and our humor, and thank you for you effort to give us the best ruviews of RUclips about our frenchise

to me, the worst thing a queen can do in snatch game is to have a great character to play and don't deliver. inês brasil is ICONIC and very funny, but skarlet didn't serve like... 50% of what inês is. same thing with naza's marcia sensitiva. great personalities but they couldn't deliver. it's a shame.
organzza's maria betania was... a choice. maria betania is a great personality but she's not very funny. to me, i think she should be in the bottom too.
miranda's paola carossela is a tough choice, bc she's not funny, but miranda made her funny. i just think her accent wasn't very good, since paola is argentinian, she has a very thick accent in portuguese.
hellena and dallas were amazing, I loved them. i think hellena's win was totally fair and square. perfect!
