i was so obsessed with american girl dolls, i have no idea why my parents bought me so many of those expensive things?? i remember i would love to make videos with them including stopmotion, i miss that tbh
No shade to that vintage shop that you first went to but as somebody who specializes in fashion history and accessories I laughed out loud when I saw the embroidered purse labeled at 1800s. That absolutely is no earlier than 1930s and it's most likely from the mid 1940s. 😅 And that price woo doggy that's nuts. I wish places like this would hire somebody like me to just go over their stock and help them label and price things more appropriately ever few months.
I’m pretty sure there’s a personality type that is known for that (pretty sure it’s mine) eg. someone says “happy birthday” and we automatically say, “thanks, you too” and the next second we hear the windows reboot chime in our brains 😂
I watch a lot of thrifting content because it's inspiring and really relaxing to me. But you have become my #1 favorite youtuber, ThriftTube or otherwise. You're so funny and positive and I love your colorful style! Best channel ever
Same 😂 every fashion channel our age is all about telling you what not to wear to avoid looking frumpy. I unfollowed all of those when I found Kathleens channel. I love how she’s more like “have a great time expressing yourself, and here are some fun ways to do that”
A couple months ago the Petz game nostalgia hit me like a TRUCK and my boyfriend helped me download a copy of Petz 5 onto my computer. It has been 10/10 GREAT VIBES since. Love the video!
OMG they made a computer game of the book Madeline that this just made me remember, you would go on all these adventures and make chocolate and ride a flying carpet I was obsessed. probably the year 2002. I’m gonna go on a full blown rabbit hole trying to find that now. Also that skirt is the most amazing purple
My very favorite childhood toy was a Japanese doll that came with three different Kabuki wigs. My sister (who was a Navy nurse during Vietnam)bought it for me on shore leave in Japan and sent it all the way to Cleveland. And that is how old some of your viewers are!
I was a Frogger girl in the early 2000s 🤣 but only when I went to my best friend Jennifer's house bc we didn't have a computer until I was in high school lol. After the computer version we would hop around her room with her little sister... good times
Omg Kathleen, I love your new hair colour! Video games didn’t really exist when I was really little, so I was really into drawing and guess what: dress up 😂
Me and my sisters used to get up as soon as we were allowed and race downstairs to use the computer to play the build a bear game where you and your bear (or cat in my case) would just wander around the town and play games and go to the bank abd upgrade your house and hang out lol. I distinctly remember getting a motorbike and a garage and feeling like the coolest kid in town aha
those black sandals, stunning. that purple skirt...gorgeous. kate bush did a song called Them Heavy People and she wears a shiny purple pencil skirt in that which is just mwah! top stuff K!
I clicked so fast! You are my new favorite RUclipsr for your style and thrifting videos. Coincidentally you’re local to me, we’ve both lived in the bay area, also love vintage clothing. It was nice seeing you go back to your old stomping grounds and for me to relax after going to the bins here on Brice for the first time ever lol
so fun to see you go to vacation! my friend lives near coit tower so whenever i go visit her i go to vacation & last time i was there i had just started watching your channel and i saw this clown sweater that instantly reminded me of you, i wish it had still been there for you
Found me a colbat blue tunic shirt with bits and harness 🐎 last week when thrifting. Snapped that puppy up and praised (in addition to thrift gods) your intuition on upcoming trends! 💗
Oh no, I thought the pets shirt was from a movie or something at first, but as soon as you said "game" a memory unlocked. Absolutely wild. What a game. What a time.
Awwww I moved to Scotland this year but fly back into San Francisco for a visit home on Tuesday and your drive and bike ride made me so excited and nostalgic!!! Love your vlogs so much thanks for taking us along!
Ok so not only Dogz & Catz, but also the Aladdin and Lion King games from 90s Disney that were essentially just a bunch of sick mini games. And Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego!! Would literally live at my neighbors house because my mom wouldn't let me get it. It gave me creepy nightmares at 7yo but I was also obsessed with it and couldn't stop playing.
YES! I remember playing a lion king game that had a matching game with REALLY satisfying sound effects (pretty sure you were flipping over stone tablets?) and I lovedddd the Carmen San Diego games! I still remember random facts about the world from those games 😂
I completely forgot about cats 2 but I was obsessed!!! In 1996, I was 9 and I spent so much time playing with this game. I also played a lot to Pandemonium (a platform PC game) with a Jester and a magician girl. And in 1997, I spent too many time composing music on Rave Ejay.
Every time I watched you sit on the couches, I kept shrieking “BUT WHAT ABOUT THE BEDBUGS?!?” 😱😱😱 I love SF, my favorite thrifted items came from SF and would love to go back ❤
Very interesting, enjoy and appreciate your style and perspective. I’m here in San Francisco since the 80s I’ve kind of giving up on thrift shopping💰 but in the past, I was an extreme Thrifter here It’s good to see the perspective of an outsider. I like buffalo exchange because I could clean up my closet make a few coins or pick out some fabulous goodies from their store. Vacation used to be in the dystopian Tenderloin I find the owners a little weird, but they basically got ran out of that district because of the looters and kleptomaniacs
Not a rare game by all means but I remember being absolutely OBSESSED with the Sims as a kid. I would have to place a clock next to me when I started playing because I would completely loose track of time in real life 😅
PLEASE bless us with a video about your favorite video games! it could be the farming sims or other games you’re playing now (would love reccs!!), or ones you loved in the past. I would just love to hear more about your gaming, as a fellow adult woman gamer!
Man I do remember Dogz and Catz, my friend had both on her computer and I remember us playing all the time whenever I'd go over to her house for sleepovers.
Core memory unlocked oh my goddddd! I spent hours playing the Catz and Dogz games as a child I was obsessed!! That was such a deeply rooted memory I completely forgot about, I feel like I got whiplash just seeing that t-shirt! I'm quite jealous of your amazing find!
I bought a 70’s couch and chair because they gave me nostalgic vibes from when family members owned the same couch and chair. I’ve had a few eye brow raises as it not not everyone’s taste but it also appears cozy to me. Was thrifted and not expensive but comfy.
My sister and I played Dogz so often. That was the main purpose of our family computer at one point in time. It's crazy to think back upon those times.
Y'all are so young. Pre-videogame, I used to play Dark Shadows with my sister and friends when I was that age. We would throw on one of my mom's flannel nightgown with ruffles and lace for a makeshift colonial costume. I always played Angelique. Ask your grandma!
Omg I had forgotten about Catz 😳 loved this game!! Also used to be obsessed with Neopets? Would play all Sunday, except for when my mum would yell at me cause she needed to call my Nan on the landline and I was on the dial up internet...
I was a Space Pinball for Windows girlie, but like in a dark basement multi-hour sesh kind of way. Also was real into Lunchables and Disney Channel website games when I was allowed to commandeer our single phone line for dial-up internet....
Did anyone else play Someone's In The Kitchen? It was one of the best cooking games of all time and you got to taste test your stuff on the dog. My brother and I were obsessed.
Also I know Oregon trail was huge in America but I never heard anyone else in the UK mention it. I loved it! I also had a horse game that was weirdly formal and difficult, I could never nail the dressage moves
I didn’t think I knew anything about the Pets computer game, but they you went on the describe it and I realized that was the game I got as a hand-me-down from a family friend that I used to play on our super old PC 😂 thank you for unlocking those memories
Omg I was like no I've never played that game even though we were both little babies in the 90s and then you showed the game play and it unlocked deep memories inside my head and I HAVE played that game!! I WAS a kitty
You've been really helping me find the fun in thrifting again! Thank you! Video idea: Could you talk about your advice and experience in thrifting storage and organizational items? i.e. baskets, jewelry boxes, hangers, easy/common things to repurpose as storage etc.
I used to live in SF, too! In fact, just a couple blocks from the Salvation Army Family Store. Thanks for reviewing some stores. I only just started thrifting and wanna check out the stores in SF…I’m still nearby.
The year was 1992 and I used to play a game that came on a floppy disc called Math Rescue. It sounds so lame but for reasons unknown it became my favorite. No one I've ever talked to has heard of it unfortunately. Between that and playing the Where in the world is Carmen San Diego computer game I was all set lol. Dang I miss the 90s.
I just discovered your videos. You are so refreshing! I’m gen x over here 😂. I loved watching Care Bears, heath cliff and muppet babies. I wasn’t much into video games.

Kathleen, your videos scratch the itch in my brain that Jenna Marbles videos used to scratch. thanks for that
As a longtime Jenna fan, I’m so honored that you feel that way! 🥹
I watch a lot of thrifting content because it's inspiring and really relaxing to me. But you have become my #1 favorite youtuber, ThriftTube or otherwise. You're so funny and positive and I love your colorful style! Best channel ever
I love how you still show us the journey through each store even when you don’t come out with any finds. It makes thrifting so much more realistic
Gus’s reaction when you found those shoes was so genuine! He was just as excited as you were! 🥳
Kathleen: "It's 1996. You're in preschool." Me: *cries in genX*

the Catz and Dogz tee shirt was nostalgic for me, because my daughter was crazy about that game as a very young child :)
I bought a 70’s couch and chair because they gave me nostalgic vibes from when family members owned the same couch and chair. I’ve had a few eye brow raises as it not not everyone’s taste but it also appears cozy to me. Was thrifted and not expensive but comfy.
