The Black Metal was way too clean. Should have scooped all the low end below 400Hz and use trash cans for drums.

I don't think those are considered pop punk, right? Maybe some of them do have some songs that have blast beats that I haven't discovered yet though. Or not consciously heard of.

I just had more of a punk rock idea in my head instead of hardcore punk.
+Jared Dines I agree with Michiel on this. I listen to DRI and Black Flag and plenty of bands that do the punk blasts, but sorry... the drums sounded way too mechanical for punk.
suicidal tendencies is crossover thrash. (kinda) they were basically punk up until join the army. then they were just regular thrash.
