There is a joke amongst lawyers “a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich”. The state could have indicted the whole family, but they would need hard evidence to GET A CONVICTION.

Katie Magbanua was married for 10 years to a common street punk, Sigfredo Garcia. They split up and she started dating a wealthy dentist, Charlie Adelson whose sister Wendi was married to the murder victim Dan Markel. Wendi and Dan were going through a divorce that turned nasty over child custody issues. Wendi wanted to relocate with the children to Miami to be closer to family but the judge said she had to remain in Tallahassee to allow shared custody of the children with Dan. Her brother Charlie and allegedly her mother Donna hatched a scheme to ‘solve the problem’ by having Dan killed. The plan was successful.
This is where Katie comes in. Charlie knew she had connections to the scummier side of humanity due to her long marriage to a lowlife, so he offered up $100,000 to have his brother-in-law Dan murdered. Katie arranged this with Sigfredo who brought along his best friend, Latin Kings leader Luis Rivera. Luis took a plea deal and turned in Katie and Sigfredo and implicated Charlie, and that’s when the dominoes began to fall. At Charlie’s recent trial Katie gave States evidence against him and he was also convicted.
Donna, the victim’s mother-in-law was arrested yesterday. That’s it so far.

Maybe this woman is scared she will end up like Dan. I sat on a Jury where the girlfriend of the defendant actually went to jail instead of testifying. As it was found the defendant and his friends threatened to kill her Mother. Her 3, 11, and 16 year old children if she testified. He was taped on a jail phone putting out a hit on her and her entire family by Molatav Cocktails in their car windows and home including the children’s bedrooms. This woman looks scared to death. Just saying may be more to this. Wendi’s boyfriend after her husband also was most likely going to be set up too. I think even after years they have just scratched the surface.

@@hlowrylong I actually just read somewhere after my previous comment that in Katie Magbanua's trial, who paid her attorneys was not allowed to be known and it was known only to the judge and he was satisfied and reported that it was not someone connected to Adelsons.
I also heard the last judge was satisfied it was not the Adelsons. Not that I would put it past them to lie.

Dan Rashbaum resembles the actor Steve Carell without the talent. His strategy to be animated is not making him look strong at all. The actor can be animated because he is trained in it. Steve Carell would make a better defense attorney for Charlie Adelson. Playing a lawyer by a great actor will be more believable than done by this defense attorney. In my opinion of course. I wish more Professionals such as lawyers would take some acting lessons to teach them how to be animated and credible. Thank you.

why hasnt prosecution objected to his repeated instances of testifying during questioning ? he testified multiple times that she is and will continue to lie, if i remember correctly he testified that there was inappropriate coaching by the prosecutor and witness....hes makin a lot of argumentative statements as if they are factual basis....idk jus sloppy on both sides , unless theres different rules and procedure wherever they are in the world

If the defense is claiming that Sigfruedo was meant to kill Charlie to get Katie back, and not Markel. Then what does Katie have to do with it?
Is the defense trying to say that Sigfruedo was going to kill Charlie? Or that Katie was trying to get Sigfruedo to kill Markel? I'm confused about what his defense is.
Defense is saying that Katy knew Charlie was going to offer Danny $1Million to let Wendy move with the kids. Once she knew that, Katy then came up with her own plan to kill Danny and then extort the money from Charlie or else Sigfrado would kill Charlie if he didn’t pay the money. Since she knew he had the money to pay Danny off, he might as well give it to her instead.
