    In today's video, I do a review of a print-on-demand candle from Printify. We use an analytic tool to find the top candle listings. You can access that tool here: everbee.io/?via=anji
    I do a review of the top 2 listings. Then show you how to create a candle design on Canva and add it to Printify. Lastly, connect your Etsy shop to Printify and automate the process.
    Please Note: I don't ever guarantee anyone income. These are just examples of what is possible. You may earn more, less or no money at all.

    Seventh Avenue Apothecary has an Etsy shop selling their candles for lower than Printify's cost, so they are in direct competition with POD sellers. Plus they are putting their branding on the candles. HARD PASS 😉

    Loved this video! As a new store is it safe to try 2-3 types of products to see what starts selling best for you, or what your best at designing? I started with some pillow covers now I’ve started t-shirts mixed in… didn’t know if the selling would be higher number for shirts over the pillow cases choice. I have my store name etc based on “seasonal things” so I was just keeping to that theme with everything.
    I’d love to see a video of why you have 3 stores and your recommendation on that.
    Also back to the other topic , if like to know how many different types of items a thriving Etsy store can successfully sell With just one store face. Or is it never wise to sell from to many niche’s. ?
    Thanks for all the info & videos

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад +10

      So glad you loved the video! With print on demand, it's easy to get overwhelmed with wanting to try everything, because it's so simple to add a product to your store. I recommend picking one product type to start with and getting yourself in a good flow of adding that product type (100 listings or so). As you get winning designs you can add those winners to other products, and branch out from there. If you do a pillow case, a t-shirt, a mug, a candle, it starts becoming chaotic and can lead to feeling like you need to keep trying different products. When in reality it's better to just master one thing at a time. Keep it simple. When I started my print-on-demand store, I started with t-shirts then slowly started adding mugs and sweatshirts. When it comes to niches - there are product niches like t-shirts, mugs, candles, etc. And also niches within those for designs such as teachers, nurses, holidays, etc. I like to cover as many niches as I can with shirt designs. But when it comes to the type of products, If you keep a cohesive vibe/aesthetic, I think you can branch out quite a lot. I hope that makes sense and helps!

      @@TheAnjiMartinhope you don't mind me jumping in one question to your answer... what if you are looking to create a store for gifts etc. for all campers as an example, would you still just start off with shirts or would it be q good idea to have a couple of different gift options that people can choose from as a gift, I.e. shirt, mug and maybe another option? Thank you so much for all your info, not long found you and been binge watching 😶

The thing is I struggle with how to make items that are original. When I get an idea I look into it and see that it's already being done so I struggle with how to make items that are unique.

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад +2

      You can use other listings as inspiration. It's fairly simple to make something "inspired by" and still different. My most recent video on Ornaments I think I shared how to do that really well. Use different fonts, different colors, similar but different graphics, change the placement of the font, change the accent graphics (instead of snowflakes use stars, etc.) It will make a totally different design.

    I am a candle maker, and I am currently going to get my Etsy shop set up to sell my candles. My question on the printify they make the candle?
    and then we just create the design for the label? The reason I ask is because I make my own candles, a certain way, so is this just another way of adding a candle, and having printify do it without me making the candle?

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад

      Yes that’s correct. You will design the label and they will make the candle, print the label and ship it directly to your customer. A really efficient business model and also good way for current candle makers to expand without stocking more inventory.

    Ok, I have a question… Say like I sign up with Printify using a cc, and I integrate that with Etsy using my bank card. If I sell a candle on Printify for $15 and Printify charges my cc, does Etsy also charge me the same $15 plus their infamous fees? on my bank card, or just the fee’s? And is it even considered safe to use a bank card for Etsy as a beginner?.. I’m trying to understand how it all works. Thanks so much!

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад +2

      You will sell the candle on Etsy at retail price and Etsy takes their fees from that, then you pay the wholesale price of the candle to Printify so they can ship it to your customer. Etsy deposits your earnings into your bank. You take those earnings and pay off your credit card that you have linked in Printify. You keep the difference (profits). Everything is safe as far as cards and bank accounts. I've been doing this for years. Just make sure you secure your accounts with 2 factor authentication. If you haven't joined my free 7 day Etsy bootcamp yet, I would recommend startin there.

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад

      Etsy runs offsite ads for you. You dont have control over when those kick in. If they do kick in consider yourself fortunate. It can really help your business take off. What you do have control over is the Etsy ads on their platform. As you get organic sales you can turn ads on for those listings. That way you know your design and keywords are good and you won’t be wasting ad money on bad listings. I hope that helps!

You mentioned that not a lot of POD sellers are jumping on, however, tons of listings are up ( mostly handcrafted) With over 1.2 million listings for candles, and 240k for christmas candles, and 141k cir Christmas candles for gift, how would you suggest someone niches down to even be seen?
