Great watch, thanks for sharing your personal experience with it. Glad to see another owner actually using a watch many would consider their grail watch as a true edc. Thumbs up!
+TheFlyrodder68 Cheers, yeah that was the reason I bought it as well...use it everyday like someone would use their smp300 or Sub. All the stuff I own I use, it seems so weird not to use something to get money out of it later...we never know if we live till tomorrow. So best to enjoy and use the stuff one has!
Nice update video, Guideaux. That Pelagos is one of the best looking watches made today, in my opinion. I'm impressed that the titanium is resisting scratches so well. Tudor must have a process they used to make the titanium harder and more scratch resistance, like Seiko has their Diashield or Citizens Duratech process. I love the lume on the watch as well, looks beautiful.
I do not believe Tudor uses anything other than metal they have insourced. That is one of the real differences between Rolex and Tudor. All Rolex metals are proprietary mixed and processed in their in house foundary. Nothing wrong with it. Just is what it is.
Im from the future, 2022 exactly. And i can confirm Pelagos watch family is tough af and serve its purpose as a tool watch greatly. Not a shiny watch for sure but Pelagos isn't meant to be shiny, Pelagos is built to beat your day, every single day
There are a lot of what appear to be imperfections on the bezel, crystal and bracelet. It would be great if a suitable cleaning cloth could be run over the watch and bracelet live as it is reviewed so the viewer can judge what is a scratch vs what is a smudge or a piece of lint. Great video.
I started watching your channel when you met up with Austin Daniels a few years ago. You sparked my interest in the Pelagos. I just purchased my first luxury watch, a Pelagos from Watches of Switzerland in Canberra Australia. $aud5750 ($usd4200), after getting a $aud500 ($usd365) discount. Love your channel Guido.
Cheers, Austin is a great guy, we had a great time in Holland. Did you get the 2nd gen (they both are fantastic)? Thanks for tuning in and wear your Pelagos in good health, it will serve you a lifetime!
Good progress update, the steel used must be slightly softer compared to the titanium leading to the scratches on the back. I have a small piece of soft fabric I keep where the watch rests during night time and I place it between the back and the clasp.
That is what I should've done and meven maybe leave the plastic protector on the back...but it's ok. Eversince wearing the Aramar I really feel the strength on my wrist of the Titanium when I wear my Pelagos now...lighter but the Pela feels so strong.. ;-)
It's funny, the BB is like a vintage Sub, then there's the current Sub followed by the Pelagos which looks like the next evolution of the Sub. Great watch and review.
Great watch, actualy i wanted a maurice lacroix pontos s for my next watch, but i just took this pelagos into consideration... Still not sure if to go for the blue or black, black is kinda more my thing...
thing is with the steel scratches they are easy to rectify - removing scratches with no trace on brushed titanium - not so easy. I own the same model and adore it - its fab.
Hi! I know You switched bracelet to rubber strap and back. Did You notice that spring bars became more "free" (pivots have some move against the spring bar's body). I faced this issue: If You flip the watch and look on the spring bar ends, when You move the bracelet (or strap) from side to side, the pivots are slightly move causing the bracelet end link to move as well (the move is not more than 0.5mm). It also can be noticed, when the watch sits tight on the wrist and You try to move the watch from side to side or "rock it". I even hear some clicks from the end link (probably due to dust accumulated between end link and the watch) So I start to look for replacement spring bars (22mmx1.8mm, 1mm pivot diameter) over the internet (I also going to ask AD for replacement spring bars)
I haven't noticed it on mine. I do not wear it on the rubber tho...since the bracelet is magical. No more noticable wiggle as in other watches I own. Maybe soms heavy duty springbars will solve the wiggle...just be dure tot see if they fit the bracelet/strap.
7 years going on 8 straight on the wrist...noissues (apart from the bezel when I fell down the stairs 7 years ago...see video).. absolutely fantastic... love it more everyday still.
I more or less used it anyday in any circumstance...unless I knew it was going to be tough on the watch beforehand...otherwise I just counted on the Pelagos to follow me and come through. ;-)
Awesome watch - I wouldn't wear anything else. You can wear with shorts and a t-shirt or a suit and tie. Its timeless design makes it a forever watch. That dot at 50 would annoy the fuck out of me, though. You should have Rolex fix it.
+Jacob Palmer It is indeed a very special watch and in a sense unique in it's genre. I am getting the whole watch serviced in 2 to 3 years and will throw some money in to get it nicely (lightly) polished, replace crystal and get 2 new endlinks....so a Rolex priced service...lol...still the watch is so worth it.
+David Newman Interestingly enough this one keeps running on a winder...many 2824 eta's will not as far as I noticed. (for example the Steinhart stops after a few days)
I was so lucky to be able to get it repaired for 50usd...it was still very new as was I to luxury watches...I was fearing hundreds of dollars repairing cost. ;-)
***** under the cuff....not sure what it means but the Pelagos wears fine under a shirt; just remember to not pull it over your head since the bezel leans over the case it can get stuck in clothes when taking them off...no problem as long as you remember. Further a brilliant beater! (especially the eta2824 first gen).
Minty.....lol, apart from the scratches on the bracelet, the Brillo pad marks on the case back and the huge scratch in the 18minute marker.....really minty!!
+Guideaux Pelagos well at least it's been worn and not a safe queen! I wasn't criticising by the way. I don't see the point of having a watch and don't wear it.... You can't beat a bit of patina!
They are similar in price (chrono24) which suprprised me...I thought the 1st gen to go down first before becomming popular...but it remains stable in price.
That's the disappointing part. In Malaysia, Gen 1 list price is USD3700, in house movt USD4000, 10% discount can be expected. Reason given is Gen 1 is also very sought after for the eta 2824.
And still going strong....12 seconds slow...maybe needs a service, but Im going to let it run for another year or so. ;-) (ETA)=nothing to fear...no need to go to any AD.
+senchaholic Nope, when the first edition came out there was only eta and for almost the same retail price (4100 usd)...I was just smart and didn't buy in a luxury boutique and opted for a workhorse movement (the only available then) instead of a new inhouse thicker movement that has no history or any known defects...it could become a drag if the new movement has unforseen issues. On top of that...the eta Pelagos will be THE watch to collect in 20 years time. (In a sense it is a Rolex and those most valuable ones are the non-inhouse movement models...like the El Primero Daytona...weirdly enough!). People seem to keep forgetting the Pelagos is the ultimate toolwatch....first an inhouse movement, what's next...a display caseback?! Otherwise people should just get a Submariner imo. ;-)
The old Pelagos with the ETA movement, even in 2021 the Pelagos is only about €3.5k, that shop must of really be taken the Micky advertising a price of €4k.
Luxury watches is like modern art... whatever a fool is willing to pay. My SBGX115 was 4k new... I got it for 2500 and now one is being offered on Chrono24 for 10k. Madness market.
Great review, i'm thinking to buy one but steel version, looks nicer to me.P.S.You shoudn't shower with your watch on-hot water is very bad for your rubber seals. Same as salty sea water.
What's up with the date wheel on yours? I really would love to get the GMT but it seems like the day will issue has hit a lot of owners and buying a second-hand same scary. I'm not in a position to buy new but could definitely snap one up on the second hand Market
Have you gotten an original from the dealer? It should be an almost "all-nighter". Just shine for 30seconds with a flashlight on it...if that doesn't work...I doubt you got a real Pelagos.

But imo it is the watch you look at so the 5 liner would bother me more than the eta inside a 2 liner....nothing is different from the outside except the case of the newer Pelagos is thicker. He is Dutch, I lived there for a year and this is how many Dutch people sound speaking English (much closer to England than the Canada/USA or Australia, the English speaking countries with different accents). He actually has less of the “Dutch” accent than some, his English is very good!
Great review, thumbs up on actually using your Tudor to the fullest.
+RazoRock Thanks, yeah almost daily.

Sorry to hear you fell down the stairs man; glad to see you're still okay.
I bought one 3 months ago, so far great watch.
Fits great, looks great, I love it for everyday wear.
It is one of the best beaters....mine is over 10 years almost daily wear... no service and going strong.
You were so right to get that over the Bb which is now a touch passe .
Great watch
Great review
Great channel.
Thank you very kind m8, i'd say the same about your channel. Cheers!
Good looking watch, thanks for uploading!
It even fits and wears better. ;-)
I have one. It's very unique and stands out more than any Sub. SO legible too!
Simply brilliant! ;-)
Looking forward to the in-house movement Pelagos out later this year.
***** me too, however for both there are very good reasons to get one. ;-)
This is so much nicer than Rolex
Whatever you do, don't watch this with headphones.
Nice update video, Guideaux. That Pelagos is one of the best looking watches made today, in my opinion. I'm impressed that the titanium is resisting scratches so well. I bought a G-shock in the meantine. ;-)
There are a lot of what appear to be imperfections on the bezel, crystal and bracelet. It would be great if a suitable cleaning cloth could be run over the watch and bracelet live as it is reviewed so the viewer can judge what is a scratch vs what is a smudge or a piece of lint.

Great honest review 👏
Thank you 🙂

Great watch, actualy i wanted a maurice lacroix pontos s for my next watch, but i just took this pelagos into consideration... Still not sure if to go for the blue or black, black is kinda more my thing...
Thanks, the Pontos is a nice but somehwat different watch. Going black Peagos I suggest the first gen. (better dial layout imo).
thing is with the steel scratches they are easy to rectify - removing scratches with no trace on brushed titanium - not so easy. I own the same model and adore it - its fab.
Thanks 🙏! I go with black bay
Love my Pelagos!
Congratulations on getting the true Dark Night.
Nice review especially since you have used for one year. How does the Pelagos compare to Omega SMP300?
scuba453 thanks, I think a choice between smp 300, Pelagos or even a Sub is pure subjective. They are all the same higher quality level.
Hi! I know You switched bracelet to rubber strap and back.

Opinions on this versus the new in-house movement Pelagos? I'm considering the new one in blue...
Go for it!
This watch looks buff! 😍❤

@@GuideauxPelagos wow did you have to service the movement?
That's watch looks great even with the scratches. But I have a question ? Why did you call it a beater ?
I more or less used it anyday in any circumstance...unless I knew it was going to be tough on the watch beforehand...otherwise I just counted on the Pelagos to follow me and come through. ;-)
Guideaux Pelagos Hence the bezel story. ;-)

van de trap gevallen LOL Gelukkig kan je het navertellen. Tudor is great! De hogere prijs komt toch door de dure Zwitserse munt.
Ja, was behoorlijke smak, maar alles ok ;-)
Good review, thanks,I deciding selling my Seamaster 2264 and longines Hydro~Conquest difficult decision
Wow goodluck, let me know what you think of it when you get one. ;-)
How well is it keeping time? How many seconds a day do you lose or gain? Thanks.
It has finally settled to 6/7 seconds a day slow.
Love the lum on bezel top eta movement this is no beta
+David Newman Interestingly enough this one keeps running on a winder...many 2824 eta's will not as far as I noticed. (for example the Steinhart stops after a few days)
YES!! My Pelagos looks the worst on the SS parts. Thought I was crazy b/c titanium is supposed to be so "soft"
RabidMortal1 The Ti is Rock solid...the SS scratches easily.
"fell down the stairs, bezel fell off" - that made me giggle.
I was so lucky to be able to get it repaired for 50usd...it was still very new as was I to luxury watches...I was fearing hundreds of dollars repairing cost. ;-)
you probably just knocked it right at the exact spot by chance - Nice watch, wear it in good health man.
😂😂😂 you were really maxing out the 'breater' element here ...
Are the pring bars durable ? It seems a week point to me
How well does the Pelagos fit under the cuff? That is really the only thing I'm wary of since I need it as a daily wearer.
***** under the cuff....not sure what it means but the Pelagos wears fine under a shirt; just remember to not pull it over your head since the bezel leans over the case it can get stuck in clothes when taking them off...no problem as long as you remember. dare i say it's more of a sea dweller being it has a helium escape valve and that it has no cyclops over the date.
+Alex Morrison True, most watch enthusiasts have stopped comparing it to the Sub and started comapring it to the SD.
Minty.....lol, apart from the scratches on the bracelet, the Brillo pad marks on the case back and the huge scratch in the 18minute marker.....really minty!!

The lightness is something you forget once you wear it (I gues almost any watch is forgotten while wearing it...even the heavier ones). I actually like it a lot, I have got heavier ss watches and the ti is very handy (and strong!). I like the greyish steelcolour it has.
Those scratches are very easy to remove.
How ?
what's it like for scratching could you wear it daily?
regarding wear & tear , be aware the lume on the Pelagos bezel is only painted on,
and has been found to rub off....and there are documented cases that prove it to be true.
Yes, but it will scratch...also the bezel sticks out over the case very slightly so hard manual labour is not advised. But it is meant to get a bit beat up in the endn a little bit. It is still a tool watch.
Guideaux Pelagos I tried it on again last weekend and really like the feel of the watch, it's a lot of watch for the money
was you drunk? if not, do you wish you had been??
