- Crab Fest in Kodiak is one of the most iconic Alaskan events, so we're excited to finally get to experience it! This festival has been on our Alaskan bucket list for a while, and our time has finally come! Within 90 minutes of landing in Kodiak, we were already eating crab! That's a pretty great start to the weekend!

I lived in Kodiak as a child. My dad was the pastor of Kodiak Church of the Nazarene there in Kodiak. Lots of wonderful memories. Glad you and Sherri are able to experience all Kodiak has to offer. 🦀🐻🌲🌲
I binged watched Coast Guard Alaska. Some of the locations were known though watching your vlogs. I have never been to Alaska, but it has been on my bucket list while living in MN. Glad to be a mostly silent part of your YT family.

Ive been visiting Kodiak for the past year bf is stationed here and I’m from a Boston, MA (boy does that runway give me a FRIGHT) - this was my first year at Crab fest and it was sooo awesome, hope you guys enjoyed your trip.
Kodiak is a very quiet island. So someone like me coming from Boston where we have chick fil a , shopping malls… you don’t get that here, you’re very limited.. and it humbles you. Just be careful and aware of the Kodiak bears on island.. there are a ton of them.
Thank you for sharing such a delicious memory. It looks like the Crab Fest has grown considerably since I was there.
And, they said this year was smaller than last years because the carnival rides didn’t come to Kodiak because of shipping and barge issues

Funny thing, we usually have a little family crab feast around New Years, when we can get it, and this year my husband popped for a few King Crab legs… whaddya know, they are so stickery! Delicious, bot boy howdy ouch, had no idea.
Can’t wait for the rest of the vlogs! Kodiak is on our bucket list for sure.
And, Alaska's crabs aren't tainted by fouled waters of SF Bay like California's

I don’t really like crab but I’m huge Coast Guard fan and one of their bases is there. I loved watching Coast Guard Alaska! I love the scenery and everything else though.

I am from Kodiak. Mill Bay is my favorite beach.
Now I really have to make plans to go! Maybe flights won't be so pricey next year 😉

Lin, you HAVE to go! It was so wonderful, and there was SO much Filipino food everywhere!! YUM! In fact, when we go back to Kodiak we want to show more of the Filipino culture there on the island. It was SO amazing to see! We loved it.
