It's a small detail but the way he grimaces and shakes his head at 7:19 at his brother saying "tell them to piss off" is a really nice touch. Like he's both upset that his brother has to see this whilst also realising the negative influence he has been on him.
Strongest character out of the second generation. Glad he's gone on to bigger things.

I just realised skins was probably a tv show to show how the consequences from drugs and stuff are. But as I watched skins as I was 13 or something I wished I could be as cool as them.
And basically what happens to your kids, if you don't act like adults around them. I mean look at how dysfunctional were the parents, teachers.
I was the same I watched skins at 12 and always thought they were so cool and fun , only now after 7 year of abusing my body have I realised this was just a show , but a show that had such a grip , a hold on me , this show basically inspired me too be a fuck up

@@nataliewilds5587 The worst actresses in the series were both in the third Generation-- Dakota Richards as Franky and Jessica Sula as Grace. Man, their acting was atrocious and cringeworthy to watch. You could argue Dakota's character suffered from character assassination and poor writing though, as the writers not only changed her character's way of dressing completely but also her personality just to create drama. The Franky we got to know in season 5 would have been happy with Matty.
As for the Male actors: Sebastian D'Souza as Matty was pretty bad and also Nicholas Holt wasn't much of an actor when playing Tony.

Jack O'Connell is hell of an actor. He has auch an amazing personality and is so down to earth. Talents like hin are very rare these days. He never used social media to earn fame. I absolutely love him. Hope he gets more attention in the future. He deserves it.
I love this scene and I love Cook's character development. He blamed people for fucking him up and all his mistakes but in the end he finally takes responsibility.

Skins wasn't exactly perfect with character development sticking around, but actively undoing really good character stuff is such a shame.
Cook actually taking responsibility for his own actions for once was really good, and they threw it all away for for no reason.
@@Ridgwaycer The only plausible explanation is that someone realised the series lost its most valuable player when Cook went to prison but the second half of series four was just bizarre in all honesty. Murderous psychiatrist? Pandora is a secret genius. Thomas is going to be a sprinter?
This is, by far, one of my most favourite moments in Skins to ever exist. Definitely my favourite episode.

I was shocked to hear about that.
In what was, admittedly, quite an uneven Series 4 this episode absolutely blew me away. I intensely disliked Cook at the beginning of Series 3 but, by the end of this episode he may have ended up my favourite character in all three generations. He wasn’t a bad person just had a bad start.

They definitely redeem Cook and Katie in season 4, despite a lot of the other problems with the series.

Jack plays Cook exceptionally well, the lawyer is spot on too and this scene is so powerful and deep. Miss Skins alot.

IMO Skins got worse Gen by Gen.
Gen 1 was perfect.
Gen 2 had issues. Only characters i really liked where Cook (saved the whole Gen) and Naomi. The ending also fell hard. Freddie dead for no reason, Thomas and Panda going to America? WTF??
Gen 3 was abysmal. Hated all characters bar Alo, despised all the storylines.
Oh and then Pure destroyed Sid and Cassie, Fire pissed on Emily and Naomi and Rise gave Cook his true love - Emma - then took it all away.
Agreed, 3-4 are my favorites. Seems like we’re in the minority in that department though which sucks.
I must be the only one who didn't like the music in this scene. It just went on and on for about 5 minutes and didn't really add any emotion at all. It would be almost better without it. I don't know if there were budget problems but that music didn't really work I felt.

'twas a bad gen, 3 was (in everyones eyes but mine (chuckle)) but there were some awesome characters, grace, alo, rich, alex, even minnie. As for the rest, they had brilliant moments too under all the misery in & out. sure even the awful stuff was good drama too, all the edgy bits and nasty sneers

well hes obviously been a giant douchebag and asshole as well, alot of times actually. wouldnt be a good character if all he was was good. I cant identify with him as being an impulsive wild type, but he is one hell of a great character with many facettes and some real Depth to him. Doesnt depend on whether one is finally judged as good guy or bad guy if hes a good character, though i like him. Most characters are Pretty darn good in Skins though, and the ones that Arent too Deep Arent shallow because something doesnt add up but simply because you cant spend a ton of time on each and every one . at times the everyones taking drugs Thing was a bit ove rthe top and the unfortunate coincidences between the ...skinny blonde Forget her Name , and tonies friend, where a bit too much and too stupid, but it is a really great series@@pip6293
I never realized what a freaking great actor Jack is, my God! He made my heart break for Cook. It’s true, everybody shits all over him. If I was a character in skins, I’d take Cookie. He may get into quite a bit of trouble, but he’s so sexy and sweet and just a badass guy.

Not gonna lie I know everyone loves effy and excuses her toxic behavior because of trauma but she ruined both Freddie and Cook, and did all this straight to their faces. Yes her character is relatable on all other senses, but I wish people didn’t excuse trauma for someone to be a total toxic person. Two wrongs make no rights, and I wish Effy had a better and healthier non-toxic ending to herself and proved she recovered. Skins fire just proved not much changed, she did something highly illegal, dated someone who was already with someone and was her boss too- then went to jail for the illegal actions :/

I think Effy loved Cook more than Fred, because the two were rebels, but as she was destroyed and Fred did her well, she chose him.
That's part of what makess this show really good, it tackles teenage characters starting to take responsibility for themselves, their well being (Effy chosing not to keep her toxic relationship with Cook going, when they were drinking and doing drugs while on the run all the time), their actions (Cook admiting everything even if it means going to jail) and on a smaller scale, teens starting to understand other peoples mindset, when JJ starts to understand Cook's behaviour and he slowly forgives him. It would've been so easy to just make a show with teens and parties and drugs and alcohol without never having moments like this that really shape their personal growth, but skins went further and showed a glimpse of what growing up means.
