Rig! Love the basics of it, yeah the engines worked but the rest is every day people setup and that's mint👌 shows how capable the old GQ is. Burto is a great addition to the channel for content, banter, knowledge and for making the TT 42 GQ drive how it should be driven😉😉
Good to see the difference between Tyler’s car with all the flash stuff and Burto’s car with the cheaper stuff for the everyday bloke. Both cars are weapons. Burto knows his shit for sure, and glad to see the GU front diff in her now!
Tyler, your channel mate just gives so much joy watching and love the evolving channel and ‘toys in the shed’ - and Berto!!!!!! Although I’m more your dads age can relate to so much you guys are saying and the old man must be so proud of what your doing AND your happiness in what you do. You’re a good egg mate! Hopefully get to see you guys one day in the road! Stay safe and only leave tire tracks!
Fuel consumption is always interesting to hear. A comparison of running gear diff difference transmission difference cv difference chassis ect, fuel consumption between your Toyota' your nissan your ol np300, np300 capabilities did it break cv's whatever would be interesting to. Maybe capabilities as a 4x4, for instance i know bigger tyres ect matter. But a 79 wont keep up with a patrol in general once going gets harder, there more of a farm truck your experience would be interestingto hear tyler. .
I think Berdo has proven skill over mods on many trips....saying that the friendly banter between mates on track has made Tyler pick up his game as a tough wheeler even though it's the mods that's doing it 😂....I guess it would be nice to have a vehicle you can just point and shoot. Nothing against having the bling and all the gear but I just wanna remind people that it's possible to get out there in a stocker if you have some balls the skill a little better planning and not care about paint keeping the money for beers or stay out longer....Never go into debt for a hobby, otherwise spend away if it's disposable money....breaking parts break hearts.
There’s two types of GQ owners in the world, the younger Kings-loving bush bashers with more dents than mods. Vs the actual Nissan fans that appreciate a well built tough rig that is still far more capable than their driving style.
It's really a great pleasure to watch this content straight from the kingdom of Nissan Patrol . I have a question - what is the difference in off-road and on-road riding of your's and Burto's front radius arm conversion?
Love the channel. I’m looking at buying a winch and was thinking of a kings job as I won’t be doing tracks like you guys do. Spend more or good winch for budget guys like me ?
Hey @TylerThompson90 if you have two lav mics you should mute whichever one isn't speaking, it makes an echo feedback. 4wd action is so bad for it ahahaha
Are you ever going to replace your snorkel with a properly engineered forward facing, performance enhancing one? Those rear facing snorkels are ridiculous!
Tell literally every single engineer your theory & they will laugh at you. Rear facing creates a scavenging (negative pressure) affect in the induction system, opposing everything an engine requires. That's why you will never ever find an aircraft, car, motorbike, boat or racing/high performance vehicle with a rear facing intake. Rear facing is "pravably" bad engineering for any internal combustion engine. (unless you drive everywhere in reverse)
Bull shit. We are talking about a turbo diesel here not a super high performance engine. With the induction needs of such an engine a front facing snorkel provides exactly the same as rear facing. If your talking about performance at high speeds (300km+) then yes rear facing induction isnt sufficient and ill agree with you.
If you have even the most basic understanding of how an internal combustion engine functions, you would be embarrassed at your comment. 3rd generation qualified motor mechanic & licensed aircraft engineer here. If you theorise that a turbo charged engine is not affected by external design floors you are poorly advised/educated. Relying on a turbo to compensate for an induction system trying to create a vacuum is moronic at best. Add to that the Wankers that make them welding plates with their logo over the intake exaggerating the syphon effect, supporting that level of stupidity is beyond words. I understand that the youth in 4wd'ing are needing to look good, but doing that at the loss of performance and economy is (to be polite) dumb!
@@damo.77 3rd generation qualified motor mechanic & licensed aircraft engineer here. Your comment is showing a lack of understanding of the basic fundamentals of an internal combustion engine. If you need a turbo to compensate for a poorly designed induction system, then you are behind the 8 ball from the start. Intentionally installing a system that will create a negative pressure in your induction system is counter-intuitive to the operating requirements of your engine. Why make your engine work harder for its air than is needed? Ram air is a basic fundamental of literally every single fuel burning engine on planet earth. Add to these stupid backwards snorkels the fact that the home builders of them like to weld advertising plates over the intake, amplifying the "syphon" effect, which degrades your air flow dramatically. I get the youth of today are needing to look cool, but do it intelligently, not at the cost of performance and economy that these stupid backwards snorkels create.
Have Darche fixed the leaking awning bag they used in the previous model awning with this new one? I own the previous model, what a pain it is, terrific awning but terrible bag design.
About time we see someone that's actually built a td engine properly.
He's an unrefined diamond.
Rough around the outsides but knows his shit. 😂.
Your a great addition to the channel Burto
Thanks! we like him haha
A genuine, no bullshit lad. I really enjoy him.
One of your best TT!
Can’t wait to see the gold fish inside the lights
Cheers!

Burto's GQ is tuff as. Bloody good fella too
Finally, a youtuber who knows about Derks Waterpumps! Thing of beauty

Your banter is priceless guys. Please keep it up.
Thanks mate!
Can't wait to see Burton reverse down Palm creek 😂
Very practical. Not all the fancy stuff. Seems like some hard labour and tons of love put in this rig. Hats off!
Nice job Burto
Haha great watch fellas 👌
That was a bloody great chuckle and a sweet setup Berto!
Super tourer haha pure gold 👍
Living the dream
thanks mate!

I got some rust repairs that need doing, so possible respray coming trying not to go into debt to get it done...
So excited to see what you guys create with this channel.
Cool rig bourto 💚
thanks for the info! By the way Burto you were spot on with my tune estimate. she's sitting at 103hp.
Tyler asking all the questions like he’s doesn’t already know the answers lol
Alot of the time he doesn't know, as he said before he just knows how to drive lol the whole reason why his got Burto for mechanical/parts installing
😂
Nice to see Burto in cairns playing with his car at rhe mechanics
Burgos Rig well sorted still enough upgrades to do for channel content 👍👍
What can I say Burto he's a legend and he's going to out
drive you Tyler have a fun time at the Cape cheers legends 😄

Nice one boys , good run through and have fun in the cape 👍👍
thanks Shad!
I think it’s time to rename the channel to the Burto and Tyler show, bud. Give him a pay raise 😊
So sick! Definitely one of my favorites! We don't get patrol's here in the states but I'm keen to import one soon!
Good choice!
Haha awesome review keep up the great content boys!!
It’s definitely time for a build on Burtos car.
So good
Big 33s hahaha that’s gold 😂
Loved Burto just telling it like u should, no bullshit just facts! LOL

Miss the look of the old bar 🙌 What's the story behind the Rex on the number plates?
@andrewcaldwell2275 the story is he brought them put them on his vehicle
Hey Burto, why did u keep the rear LSD over twin locking the GQ?
Ita nice but the best built gq is either Timmyhasheart or the patrol factory rig getting around se qld
Hey @TylerThompson90 if you have two lav mics you should mute whichever one isn't speaking, it makes an echo feedback. 4wd action is so bad for it ahahaha
Hey Burto what’s the meaning behind the REX number plates.
I’ll take a guess, 18g wrx turbo? He mentioned he had an 18g on before the new turbo
Nice
Did you boys have an early start or late finish 😅
Beast 👍🏽
Nice 🤙🏻🏴
If anyone was gonna try and weld the manifold onto the block I reckon it would be Berto 😂 that was a funny question to ask though haha
Hi. Why the tyres are pretty much a 33"? didn't get this part
Cause 35’s arent legal unless engineered and guessing it’s not engineered lol. Same as the 2” lift comment 😂
Cost of a good one to a decent GU? is it worth it?
Where’s the sun visor from?
Mine next
The real question is what was in the Amazon package?
a book haha
its on like donkey kong
Bingo
Did you say 40lt per 100k🤔😲😲
14 haha
