Chinese ask Indians "What are you doing here?" Chinese asked Bhutanese:"Did you invite them into your country?" Bhutanese didn't answer and say nothing. They were too afraid of Indians. The Indians run all over their country as though it's their own. If I were the Bhutanese, I would play them off each other and get the most benefits. Just like India being friends with Russia and the US, and buying Russian oil at a great discount and sell it at high profit to the Europeans.

He did some great things, my favourite being that he amended the Constitution so that a sizeable percentage of the country would never be developed at all for ANY human interests, profit, etc. Still a ways to go socially, especially for women, but he was thoughtfully leading the country forward and people's lives were improved. I don't know how the conversion from monarchy to democracy he instituted is going.... I'll have to update my reading. But the idea that China is grabbing land, and sending settlers there!!! How long before they start mining or whatever in Bhutan's constitutionally protected wild zones??

It seems that |ndia/|ndians have clearly forgotten that |ndia was the one who |nvaded Sikkim on year 1973 before annexing Sikkim to become one of |ndian states on year 1975. The last Chogyal king of Sikkim, Palden Thongdu Namygal, was placed under house arrest and was tortured by |ndia till he died in 1975. Miraculously, after making an example out of the Sikkim King, Sikkim became part of |ndia on year 1975 but not on 1973 when |ndia |nvaded Sikkim. If the sovereign country of Sikkim is willing to become one with |ndia, is an invasion necessary? Is a house arrest and the killing of the King of Sikkim necessary?

@@darkodonnie2729 Indians are defeated by the Chinese in the 1962 war. It was the most humiliating defeat in history if you were to examine all the facts that were involved in the war. This is the ultimate proof that war tactics/strategy/determination/will power/bravery triumphs over superior weapons/technology/cowardice.
      1) The Chinese were having the "great Chinese famine" from 1658 to 1962. China was too weak to defend itself.
      2) India had Israeli and American support in the form of supplies/weaponry. Research on "Israel aid to India in the 1962 war" and "America's aid to India in the 1962 war" and "JFK’s Forgotten Crisis".
      3) The Sino-Soviet split from 1960 - 1962. China had nothing. No weapons, guns, artillery supplies from either Western and Soviet and no food (serious famine).
      4) Despite all these advantages, India lost.
      5) There are no excuses for such a humiliating defeat. That is why India is so desperate to have the "Henderson Brooks and Neville Maxwell report of the 1962 war" concealed forever and also to hide which country is the true aggressor of the war. When it was leaked into the internet momentarily in 2014, India demanded the report to be purged permanently from the internet citing "national security"....just like BBC's documentary on the 2002 Gujarat Massacre and Modi's involvement.

Bhutan or Nepal see their opportunities. After all these yrs, there is finally someone that can rival their so called ' master'. Thus the restoration of trade with China resume. Sri Lanka now wants India military to move out of their region and wanted good ties with China and wanted investment as China is the only country that help them with rising tides that have been rising due to global warming. No one helps them with investment and infrastructure build up to deal with global warming in the past. India has already forced Bhutan to give up its sovereign rights to an independent foreign policy, and India doesn't allow Bhutan to have diplomatic relations with most nations (India is the only G20 nation that Bhutan is allowed to have diplomatic relations with). Bhutan is fighting back, however, and having unofficial diplomatic relations with China anyways.
Also, Bhutanese government officials have been asked if these Chinese settlements are in Bhutan's territory or not, and they always answer that they are not. The only people claiming they are in Bhutanese territory are Indian and U.S. government officials.

Which is exactly what they are attempting to do with Bhutan.
As for Tibet, it hasn't been an independent country for close to a thousand years. There are the obvious reasons for stating this: they have never had formal diplomatic relations with any other country, no other country has ever recognized their independence, etc. But also, whenever British India invaded Tibet throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s, they never negotiated with the Tibetan government. They would contact the Qing government in China and as they were the rightful rulers of Tibet, they paid the British Indian armies a bribe to leave Tibet.

We cannot talk about Bhutan without talking about Sikkim. Like Bhutan, Sikkim was an independent Himalayan Buddhist kingdom many hundreds of years old and a neighbor of China. Sikkim was briefly overrun by the Nepalese Gorkhas during the 18th century. The Sikkim king fled to China and asked for help. The then Qianlong emperor dispatched an expedition force to Sikkim and expelled the Gorkhas and restored Sikkim's sovereignty and independence. Sikkim was left unmolested for the rest of its history until it was gobbled up by the artificial country India in 1975. Chinese of older generations were taught that Sikkim was one of China's neighbors. Even student in Taiwan (Republic of China) were taught Sikkim was one of China's neighbors until a couple of decades ago. Bhutan is very similar to Sikkim in terms of ethnicity, language, religion and culture and history, only that it is bigger. Bhutan is in a precarious situation right now because it is the next low hanging fruit in India's expansionism and is currently militarily occupied by India. The Indian debt/death trapping Nepal is unforgivable eg. 2015 Nepal blockade (please do some research). What is even more unforgivable is expansionist |ndia stealing lands and annexing Kalapani from Nepal on year 1962. |and grabbing |ndia has encroached Nepali land, and Nepal can do nothing about it. |ndia has paid off Nepali politicians, and they will keep their mouth shut. Kalapani was encroached from 1962 by |ndia using its military. In 1952, Nepal gave permission to temporarily place |ndian Armies in its Northern boundary foreseeing the dangers from the Chinese side. In the year of 1962, India made a bunker in Kalapani and placed its camp there, as the China-|ndia war broke out. At that time, the there were 18 |ndian camps including Kalapani, inside the Nepalese borders. After the war, when Nepal asked the |ndian side to remove its armies from all Nepalese regions, |ndia removed them from all the places except in Kalapani. And even till now, Kalapani is under the |ndian Military’s control. One step forward of the military encroachment, |ndia took a political step in encroachment as it added Kalapani to its border on the new map published by Survey of |ndia on November 2, 2019.
