I got the exact same colourway about a month ago and love the look and the way it wears. The bracelet is pretty good as far as Japanese divers go and the pressed clasp is better than most. I think too much is made about milled clasps anyway. The bezel on mine is okay but there is a little backplay which is slightly disappointing. The power reserve is a really neat feature on this watch plus the bonus of a 50 hour reserve. The lume is outstanding and beats all my other watches including a couple of Helms. Retail price from Orient is £800 but I got mine for £580 from TUS watches here in the UK who are an official dealer. They can be had cheaper from Joma shop but I've read mixed reviews about them.
It’s a beautiful watch and always nice for a watch to feel better once you get hands on. Definitely better than the other way around. It is just a tad expensive. Still great and a great review! Thanks!
I have owned the same green dial version of this watch for a while now and they were a lot less expensive when they first came out. I paid only $720.00 Cad. for mine and thus I feel it was good value for the money I spent. One interesting feature of the clasp that you didn't mention is that it is also equipped with a driver's extension allowing one to fit it over a wet suit if one desired without changing the size of the bracelet, thus making it a true divers bracelet. (I have never done this since I don't dive but I appreciate the authenticity and engineering.) I really like the watch and I enjoyed your assessment.)
@ross1880 the bezel was very stiff. I has to take it off and use some oil to get it to move. the stamped bracelet or I should clasp got a little warped and wouldn't close anymore so I got a adjustable strap from LIW
Ive always really liked the look of this watch, but as you said, it's in a price category with so many other watches that I'm more interested in. Maybe if I had one in hand.
Pressed clasp for this price range is pretty lame. If I’m spending this kind of dough I don’t want to immediately be swapping out parts. Design wise the power indicator looks wonky and date window is meh but I get it. I’m with you though if I’m in this range price wise I’m looking at other brands.
That’s a good question. I’ve not looked into it enough to give you an answer but I would assume they do. Hmmmmm. I might need to do some online reading to find out.
@@S-Ltd1000 better feel, fit, finish and durability. I would choose it over pressed in the same way I would choose sapphire over mineral, and ceramic over aluminium. Both Seiko and Orient seem to think they can continue cheaping out on materials, and whilst you may be ok with it, myself and a lot of other people are not.
I like the watch but hate the handset and the power reserve, the clasp is rubbish, for $1300, your into higher end Seiko’s ( slim turtle, 62 mas, mm200 etc) and Swiss options Tissot, Hamilton, Certina, Mido and even some Longines. So no way I’d even consider it at that price.
@@S-Ltd1000 I’m talking about the particular watch not the whole brand, for the price I wouldn’t even consider it with so many other options, and none of these watches offer a pressed clasp for $1300 or that fuggly hand set.
@@matthewpaull1664Just because you feel the hands are “fuggly”, does not mean they are. This watch gives alot more than any of those swiss brands will. For the cost. If you had a swiss brand on the dial, this watch would be 3 to 4 times the cost. That is how good an nice this watch is. Yes the bracelet good has been better an different, but the watch itself, is amazing. The hands are unique an different. The whole watch is unique. Orient made this watch very high quality. With a decarated movement. This watch has its own identity. Not the same looking watch over an over. This is a future classic an collectible for orient. Glad i own the blue variant. Wear it everyday!.

Picked up the Orient Solar Chronograph (Panda) for $200 and it is fantastic. Beautiful, quality & value all-in-one 👍

Interesting design! Thanks for sharing James!
It is very cool. So much better than I was expecting
Nice review, it's a great looking watch, but I'd prefer it smaller, lighter and cheaper.
Thanks for WATCHing
Great review James. This model does not have much coverage.
I’m so happy that I had the opportunity to get hands on with this one.
It is so much better than I expected
Great review! More Orient Stars please!
There’s another that I have my eye on.
Terrific!
So impressive
almost bought this years ago but decided on the TRIDENT/NEPTUNE
Thanks for WATCHing
I'm going back and forth between buying this watch or the Triton. How is your Triton any regrets.

It is hard to pick this one over others. But once in hand it starts to make a lot of sense.

Thanks for your review. I thought it might have a high beat movement like the Seiko 6R series. Does Orient have one in any of their models?

That’s gorgeous great video!
Thank you. It is a great watch
Beautiful watch 😍⌚️
It is really nice

Just received the Pepsi color way from Singapore yesterday for $ 447 USD all in . Currently on Honeymoon lol
Enjoy. It is a brilliant watch.
This price range is saturated with dive watches , IMHO there are better examples 😊
There is almost too many options.
Looks way better than any Seiko 👨🏻🦲👌🏻
I am so impressed. And surprised
How much should I pay for this watch? US Dollars?
I’ve seen the prices vary a lot.
It is one to keep an eye on and grab when it pops up at a great price.
If they made this in a 39mm, it would be perfect
Thanks for WATCHing
These sell on Jomashop for $530 USD.
Thanks for WATCHing
It looks lovely, but a pressed clasp at that price is an instant turn off. It has some very stiff competition in this price range
It is unfortunate. But I have come to expect that from the big Japanese brands.
What is it with this obsession with milled clasps?🤷♂️

I think you need to buy a new timegrapher. Jody from Just One More Watch got a much better amplitude and rate of 317° and 2s/d

Power Reserve Indicator killed it for me 🤮
Yeah, those stupid Orient guys, adding extra value for money with their complications 😂
