Had a bit of a crisis in the middle there! But with some good old fashion ABS sludge it all worked out. Anyone else have any near-misses in the build department?
@@brickscapebuilders Thanks man, that's awesome. Yes! I'm working on the chest and back armor now (9/11/19 for all future readers). My target date for that video is Thursday, Sept. 19th. I'm also working simultaneously on a bunch of the accessories, so after I post the chest/back video there will be an update every 2 weeks for the next 8 videos or so. I'm getting real close on this and it's getting exciting!
@@PatchBOTS That is the fastest response I have ever gotten! Awesome I can't wait to see it finished! Also your videos have gotten be into buying a phase 2 helmet (because full armor is to expensive) which I will give either a 501st paint job or fives paint job
@@brickscapebuilders Sounds great. I don't believe there is a realistic Fives CRL, so if you're doing Fives make sure to get an animated helmet (I recommend Imperial Surplus for that). If you're buying a realistic Phase 2 helmet for the 501st I recommend EVO3 if you're in the US, Sanotized Creations if you're in the EU.
I really appreciate how you try to show your mistakes and how you fixed them. Building a Clone is becoming less and less nerve-wracking for me because of you!
Yeah the one thing I'm learning from this build is that mistakes are NOT the end of the world. Anything can fixed. And the more effort you put into fixing the less likely anyone would ever even notice
"The greatest teacher, failure is." ~Yoda It's a true statement, and what you said is absolutely right. Watching this series of video's as well as other people's builds has shown me that just about anything can be fixed. I'm printing out a piece of Clone hand armor right now and due to an unforeseen snafu, the printer skipped a line and now there's an indent in the top going up. At first, I thought about just starting the print over. But now, I know that I can just use wood filler to build it up til it's all on the same level and nice and uniform. Can't wait to see what you build!
I made my mid section for my armor I’m working on out of vinyl. I have flexibility and since I’m a bigger buy I don’t have to modify the parts to 3d print.
You can cut the plate above the butt and put it directly on the rear ab piece. It helps for mobility and is more screen accurate. Also you can shorten the ab piece, especially on the sides. Movie ab piece is shorter than what you have right now. Again more mobility and more accurate.
Very interesting. I took a look at a scene from ROTS and I definitely see a trooper with a separate kidney plate. You're right. Not sure if I'm actually going to do it, but you've definitely given me something to think about!
The cod/butt piece is just being held up my hips. I couldn't slip it on or off if i try, so once it's snapped into place around my mid-section it just kinda hangs out there on its own.
@PatchBOTS I have really enjoyed your series. How do you get your ABS sludge to be able to apply it with a brush? Mine ends up as a putty but not a brush on sludge. Help PatchBOTS you are my only hope!
Out of curiosity, once you start working on the accessories for the armor, what are you going to do for the kama (the battle skirt that Commander Bow wears)? Cause that’s one of the important parts of the Commander Bow armor, especially since it connects to the belt.
2nd and also I'm planning on building a Black and Cyan armour (All the white into Black and the Blue into Cyan) and wanted to ask do you have anything that you could suggest that may be cheaper? Not the armour I mean paint and so on. And thanks, I'll be using this when I make my armour.
Hm, not really. Paint is expensive, unfortunately. And no matter what colors you do you'll need a ton of it. (even the whtie armor needs to be sprayed white).
I'm planning on building a set of clone armor myself and I was wondering could this kit be adapted to an ARC Trooper cosplay build???? Edit* I also watched every other episode on the list this looks amazing!!
Thanks! Yeah I think KW sells an ARC kit as well? Or if you want a realistic one I'd check out what other ARC troopers think on the clone detachment forums, I"m not really sure what that would entail.
@@PatchBOTS thanks for telling me this it'll save me alot of time printing certain mods for it, and whenever I get the chance I'll look at the forums thanks for telling me this!
@@darkdaysgoon Awesome! I recommend gettting some armor from Imperial Surplus, but if you're looking to print everything, you can also check out Storm Props.

I've been following since the beginning, when will the next section come? I'm so hyped, also is the next section gonna be the whole chest section?

This has some serious ab tab snap grab action... not to forget about the straps

@@PatchBOTS Im spending so much time analyzing every shot to make my costume, Im happy it's useful to somebody else !
You should try linking some of the products and kits you use in the description - Love the build so far!
yeah. i'm working on that actually. I'm going through all the videos adding a better description and links to all products. Thanks for looking out!
YESSSSS!
The kidney plate has to be separated from the cod piece, stormtroopers have the kidney plate connected
You should try to make a 228th shadow company armour.
gotta finish this one first!
Really nice to see the armor coming together :)
How did you attached the cod/butt to the hold on to the body?

I couldn’t seem to find a video on the under clothes u mention in this video? Any chance you have links for what you used?

More acetone will make it runnier!
Using a plastic bag over the majority of what you're taping off saves you from wasting all your tape
Yeah I did that for the leg armor, the boots were small enough that my laziness just put me on autopilot with the tape.
or old news paper lol

Hi Rhydon, Yes, I'm going to make that after I get the belt installed. The kama will have it's own video.
Are you gonna create the neck piece with the chest armor
