I did a English analysis report of this song for high school English class, talking about the meaning. No one writes complex, interesting, emotional, super strong melodies like Ian. Yo did a wonderful job of this cover ...never heard anyone chose this song to cover!
Man, this has to be one of the best covers of Velvet Green I've ever seen ! Not only do you play the parts very well and accurate, but the mix sounds almost like on the album, it's like a new fresh version of the song ! I love how you play the elec. guitar and organ parts with the flute, it gives a more intimate atmosphere to the tune. Good job on the vocal harmonies on the "ballad" part (won't you have my company...), they are really tricky ;) Forgive my bad english xD That was amazing !
I am sure you understand that Ian Anderson was the greatest single rock performer of all time. No one else is REMOTELY close to the enigma that is Jethro Tull. Thank you for sharing
Well said albeit with 1 corrolary. Perchance Ian/Tull is not primarily "Rock". Hence out there in a less defined musical/artistic wilderness. Then again, someone left their snowshoes in the tundra.
This was my favorite song all throughout my freshman year of highschool. I had a crush on a girl then that I associated with this song, so it forever brings back that memory. I am completely sure that she has never heard this song, I think she was a Rush fan.
By Ian's own words. "One of their most challenging songs." Chord correction though. During the Acoustic Bridge the D flat moves to a chord that uses the thumb in the base and is spelled 6th string A flat played with the thumb, 5 string open capo 3rd fret C natural, 4 string A flat 6th fret ring finger, 3rd string X muted, 2nd string 4th fret E flat first finger, 6th string 6th fret B flat pinky. This chord then moves to the E flat major with the pinky remaining on the 6th string so that this string is ringing through the Chord sequence. Great Work Andy. I love this song.
Oh wow! What a beautiful rendition of this classic Jethro Tull song. You perform it so well and precisely with just vocals, acoustic guitar and flute. Just beautiful.... sttgaegoaktd 😛😛😛😛😛😛😛
Love your Tull videos Andy.I hope folks realise the complexity of Andersons' work and appreciate the talent necessary to replicate it.Well done! Now how about "Mayhem Maybe"? :o)
Once I start on any of your videos, I just can't stop. Therefore, I have subscribed to your channel. You are awesome as a musican, as a long life Tull fan, I can't just resist your covers. Excellent audio and video quality - congratulations !
WOW WOW WOW. INCREDIBLE! nobody had the balls to cover this. WHY? because Ian Anderson the snob has not written down his music so that others may play it. He has left it up to innovators like you Andrew to fend for it. Thank you for all you do to keep Ian Anderson's music alive and well. Stunning really!
((wanted to make a cover too. But now see no chance, the bar is set too high. Ever thought of auditioning to Mr Anderson, Andrew? Wish you guys know how much work lies behind. To play Jethro Tull you sort of need to think Jethro Tull. Thanks for your work, do more!
Great cover, really smashed it. It's quintessentially English music so you should sing in an English accent! Why not!! The Brits have been singing in a Yank accent for 60 years😂
Beautifully done... something not right with that main guitar riff though, believe you are playing an open A when it should probably be an open D. Don't quote me on the notes, I am imagining it on the guitar.
@@andrewtisbert106 Not even a little bit - I'm sure most won't even notice it. You did such a great job on this, you should be very proud. If you are curious just listen to the song riff closely and then compare with yours, it is subtle but for sure a different note.
Shocked at how good this, as a devout tull fan I'm usually very critical of covers but this was excellent!
Tull should be capitalized, Tull.

Ha. Thanks so much!
Absolutely astounding! Guitar and flute(s) and vocals spot on!!! All you need now is a parlour guitar. Brilliant, well done.
